This is a quote from a player on the team when Flores was coaching.
One Dolphins player isn't too fond of Tua Tagovailoa. “He can't make every throw,” an unnamed prominent member of Miami's defense told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “He's only going to take us so far. I'm wasting my career here if that's what we're doing.”

What part of this is wrong?

Glad you fixed your connection issues after the dallas game. Was worried we lost you.

yes, youre right, the leader in passing yards in the nfl is a hack and so is the coach behind the number 1 offense. We should get real alpha men in charge.

This thread is a fraud. I'm as sick as every other fan about these recent losses, but saying McDaniel is a fraud is an epic knee Jerk. Do you know how many other NFL teams would love to have a coach of McDaniel's caliber?

And can we please keep the Tua trashing lumped into one thread so the rest of us who don't want to keep reading the same rehashed arguments can avoid them?

How about we wait until after the playoffs to decide who is and isn't a fraud?

The wise men who KNOW BALL already decided. Why? They compare every QB to Marino and every HC to Shula. They think hall of famers at both spots (which has happened less than 15 times in nfl history) is worth churning through very good HC and QB perpetually to appease them. Its so, so tiring.
Its clearly the highest level offense weve had in decades. Let them ****ing build on it. Its not ON YOUR TIMELINE. They dont own the decades of **** before they got here. Thats not how this works.

Yep, people like Cowherd were right. Only way to shut them up is to win and instead, we sh** the bed. Good defenses are going to slow down a good offense but this offense completely wilts.

Hill has dropped too many easy passes this season to ever call himself a MVP. A game changing player, yes. A guy who makes clutch plays when the team really needs it. Nope. Tua torches bad teams and bad defenses and then posts sub 75 QB rating in back to back weeks in 2 of the most important games in recent franchise history. We have guys all around who talk a lot or throw up big stats but then disappear in big games. It’s like Bill Walsh said, I’d rather have a team of Super bowlers vs a team of pro bowlers.

I mean, no doubt he has to play better in tough spots. I dont know anyone arguing against this. But the get rid of the coahc and qb nonsense needs to stop. Theres no clear upgrade at either spot available

    I don't think McDaniel is a problem.

I think Tua is a problem without simple solutions. However, if the choice is give him a large long term contract or trade/let him go. I'm going with the latter. They can't win the division with him on an "underpaid" contract. Imagine them trying to win on one where he takes 20% of the cap? They are already in a tough spot with the cap as is.

You realize walking away from the leading passer in the nfl would be unprecedented right?

i think the first solution is to fix the line. Its still abysmal and never healthy.

I don't think they should walk away this year. I think they should should let him repeat it on a one year deal when staying healthy a whole season is an outlier for him.

The line wasn't the problem yesterday. They were as healthy as they've been since Washington. They had 4 out of 5 starters.

While I agree we can’t walk away from Tua, it’s also hard to trust him as a QB to lead us to a Super Bowl. He had the healthiest OL he’s had since Connor Williams went down last night and still put up one of his worst games since joining the league. It’s pretty clear that good teams can slow down or take away Hill from taking over the game and then Tua struggles. This isn’t all on Tua but he’s certainly part of the problem.

The Chiefs offense is ***, and our defense is still showing up. Hopefully Gink isn't out, because that's a massive loss if he is.

Waddle should be back which will help. I think they'll keep the offense as simple as possible for Tua, especially with the weather. Chiefs defense is legit. Tua cannot turn the ball over. Our offensive weapons should shine. I'm more worried about the refs rigging this than the Dolphins being the better team.

I live 3 hours north of KC and the problem is it’s going to be colder than f**k next week. Couple that with Arrowhead is a tough place to win on the road, against a very good defense and an offense that doesn’t show up against good teams.

Only way we win is if we can run the ball on KC and take some pressure off of Tua. Need to stop with all this sweep outside pitch runs that gave us so many 2nd and longs last night.

Forecast is 9f.And chiefs basically just had a bye.
I hope ur right but I see 30 -10 with at least 2 Tua ints. The pressure is really on him now after 2 ****ty games In a row and I don't think he handles pressure very well.
Not to mention we have nobody on the edge on defense.

If this is going to be a running game battle, the Dolphins defense has the advantage there. They are 6th in the league at 3.8 yards per attempt. KC is 25th at 4.5 yards per attempt. Rushing yards per game: Dolphins 7th, and KC is 17th.

I'll take Achane and Mostert over whatever nonsense KC is running out there. Just can't turn the ball over.

This was the problem last night. Too many outside runs that ended up in negative yards putting Tua in a bad situation. Would love to see more off tackle or in between tackle runs. 2nd and mid or 3rd and short makes this offense very tough to defend.

Sorry, not everyone lives up to your definition of fans, some of us have been waiting 50 plus years to return to the promise land and every year it's the same story of a broken heart. Nobody is forcing you to read a critical post about Tua, this is a message board for a reason and some of us need to get out 50 years of frustration. When it comes to crunch time for Tua to show up he does not, and last night was just an example of it. Tua stated against the Ravens he was trying to play hero ball, the things are he can't, but Josh Allen can.

I think they run to the outside to open the passing game in the middle of the field where everyone knows that's where Tua attacks.

Achane averaged 5.6 yards per attempt. Running wasn't the problem. Giving up on it was, but I think that was a result of them loading the box. They'll need to commit to the running game with the weather the way it is. That statistically gives us the advantage.

Mahomes will kill us running the ball with no edge defenders and like I said this is chiefs weather..This offence doesn't score against good teams and I have zero faith in Tua not turning the ball over. Can't run every down

I’m sorry what games are you watching ?
The defense is a complete train wreck and deserves no praise ! They are as big a problem as anything.

Baltimore was gouging them at will. It was embarrassing. 20+ yard chunk plays all game long. Absolute fireworks. Defenders literally fooled into thinking Jackson was a left handed quarterback .

Buffalo ran up 500 yards of offense last night! Allen had a season high in passing yards.

They could have scored 5 more times than they did if Allen didn’t hand the ball to Miami in the Red zone 3 times (quite literally once and the INTS were brutal too), they also botched clock management at the end of 1st half to shoot themselves in the foot and take points off the board and they could have taken a field goal at the end of the game.

Nice 4th down stop… for sure. But Short of that there wasn’t much resistance.

They held Buffalo to two TDs and had 3 turnovers. I'm not sure what else you want from the defense who are decimated at key positions.

I've been a Dolphins fan my whole life, and I was just as negative as anyone else last night and still am today. I'm not trying to tell anyone they shouldn't vent about a bad loss. This team has lots of problems. There's are plenty of pre-existing threads to make all these gripes and beefs. There was no substance in this one to be a stand-alone. Also, if it's ludicrous to call the coach a fraud after being the first coach in forever to get the team to back to back playoffs.

    Agreed in the 20 years before McDaniel arrived;
Miami made the playoffs only Twice (10%)

He has already accomplished that in 2 years at a 100% rate.

Claiming he should not be calling plays is comical. Who should then exactly ?
If McD were fired…. every single team in the league would be trying to hire him to be there play caller (If not, then there head coach probably).

I'd estimate at least 2/3rds of the league would take McDaniel over their current head coach given the chance, including some current playoff teams.

Buffalo held themselves to that is my point. There coach and QB shot themselves in the foot 5 times and left a boatload of points on the field.

It wasn’t for a lack of going up and down the field though.

Can't agree there. I think you have to give the defense credit for turning up the pressure and getting those bad throws. Especially have to give credit on that Wilkins strip sack which was insane.

Ive been saying that for weeks now about calls. I hate the sideways or behind the line stuff that goes to the short side of the field where the back either gets clobbered or is forced out of bounds.
