I don't know that we've ever made it to Saturday before without an official game thread, but I can see under the circumstances why this isn't a pleasant topic. We're coming off a crushing loss to Baltimore and going into the biggest game of the season against our division rival for the AFC East title. The stakes couldn't be any higher. The NFL flexed this game, so it's an 8:20 kickoff and the final regular season game of the year. For all the marbles, does our team rise up and take the crown? Or are recent injuries just too much to overcome? Chubb and Howard are out, but Baker, Mostert, and Waddle are questionable. Everyone else is expected to return, so Tua will have protection and a full offense to work with. Meanwhile, the Bills are healthy and expected to have their full roster. With everything on the line, this will be a great test for our young team to find a way.
With a functional offensive line we can move the ball. I think we win this game because we are simply better at home. People still talking about the Ravens loss? Still postulating over what may happen next week and what that means? Shrug. I'm going to enjoy the next two games and hope we win so that there is a third. Go Phins.
You guys should be more positive. Statistically the #1 offense the last 14 years has made the playoffs (so with us it's 15 consecutive), with the last time that didn't happen being New Orleans in 2008. Of those 14 years this is the breakdown: Won SB = 4 times Lost SB = 3 times Lost Conf = 3 times Lost Div = 3 times Lost WC = 1 time That's pretty good when you have the #1 offense, which we still do (by 0.5 points per game over Baltimore of all teams). So there's actually a decent chance we win 1-2 playoff games (or more if we can rise up to the occasion) just looking at the odds. Of course, that's most likely if we beat Buffalo and get home field advantage for 2 playoff games. Doesn't mean we'll win against Buffalo (we're +2.5 underdogs), but a lot of regular season stats are on our side.
I would have picked us though Im really concerned about the offense struggles I think we will have. However because they flexed this game and put it on national TV primetime Im thinking we lose this game. We have performed so badly in prime time games or when the NFL spotlight is on us. Bills being Healthy and driven to win as they need the win to make the playoffs unless other things happen. Miami doesn't have to win to be in the playoffs and I think that's a mental edge we lose. I think the NFL has pretty much caught up to the Dolphins offense now and has been finding ways to make TUA off rhythm. The Line will have to play perfectly to prevent the bills defense from getting to TUA and disrupting his timing. That said I hope we win, but im feeling a 28-31 Bills - 21 Dolphins kinda game. I have just lost faith that this franchise can win the big games, and as Bill Parcells stated. You are what your record says you are, and that's a team that loses against good teams sadly.
I just read that Howard's foot injury won't require surgery, and there's a chance he could return for the playoffs. I'm starting to get pumped for this game and what's to come in the playoffs!
A few weeks ago we had a 3 game lead in the division and that has all evaporated. The momentum is heading in the wrong direction. McD's inexperience is showing up against the better teams. He really should give up play calling, he's not very good at it nor making in game adjustments. I have very little expectation of a win.
In general his play calling has been great. We are a top offense in the league. His Achilles heal has been short yardage. We are the worst team in the league on 3rd or 4th down and LESS than 3 yards. Not even 50% conversion rate. He does need to figure out that specific aspect , no question.
Fun fact about Josh Allen. He generally hasn't played that well this year against average or bad defenses lol. Buffalo's 6 losses came to: Jaguars (15th in points allowed) Patriots (17th in points allowed) Jets (18th in points allowed) Bengals (tied with Miami for 21st in points allowed) Broncos (26th in points allowed) Eagles (29th in points allowed) Meanwhile he beats good defenses like: Chiefs (3rd in points allowed) Cowboys (5th in points allowed) Raiders (8th in points allowed) Bucs (9th in points allowed) LOL.. so weird. It's consistent enough though. So maybe this year the Dolphins defense being tied for 21st is a good thing against Allen. Crazy.
We as Dolphins fans have been conditioned over the last few decades to expect the worst, to lose in key situations, to experience colossal disappointment after having our hopes crushed by good starts. Tomorrow is is a chance to put an end to all that crap and to change the trajectory of this franchise. Fins Up!
I have no more expectations concerning this season after that Baltimore fiasco. I mean we‘ve got 19 players on injury report our starting O-line was together for half a game? all season. If we somehow win tomorrow I might get my hopes up again for a little playoff run. Just wanna see them hustle and put up a real fight and I wanna see strong showings from Tua.
Motha bleepers. They certainly look like Buffalonians. The woman? Bleeping Buffalos. Is anyone here going to the game?
Might as well sit all the starters tonight before we lose anyone else. I know they won't but man we can't get through a single game without losing at least one starter.
Never mind, I guess it is… https://www.nfl.com/news/dolphins-r...le-wr-jaylen-waddle-ankle-not-expected-to-pla
I get what you’re saying but if we don’t win tonight’s game and have to go to Kansas City, it’s going to be extremely difficult to win there. We NEED this win and the number 2 seed or there aren’t going to be any playoffs beyond next week.
I'll watch, but this feels insurmountable at the moment. The minute things get bad I'm turning the game off.
Any season ticket holder who sells tickets to this game to Bills fans should have their tickets revoked.
The Elbow Room is a Bills bar? Umm, no. That's the oldest business on the Ft. Lauderdale strip and it's certainly not for the Bills, LOL. New Yorkers that flood those nearby condos in the winter? Okay yeah, maybe it's a Miami/NY bar...but definitely not a Buffalo bar!
When I saw that those imbeciles took over my beloved Elbow Room, where I had my first beer at a bar in the States, I couldn’t believe it. But Ft. Lauderdale gets overrun sometimes, I remeber Ravens and Patriots taking over my beloved beach bar at the Yankee Clipper back in the days…
