That can't be true since Herbert > Tua. LOL!

Those were all the games at MetLife, which I should have mentioned.

If you want to count Max Jones 50% completion game and 1 TD as a W, fine take it.

The tweet didn't mention it which is the troubling part. Account seems like it's Tua propoganda. Those numbers listed aren't right either.

Problem sometimes with old stats such as passer rating is counting a pick 6 and a punt style INT as the same.

Thanks for reminding us of this post. We need people to print up receipts. I swear, if Debbie Downer was a fan base, she'd wear a Miami Dolphins t-shirt.

Meanwhile, as we're arguing over how unhappy we are about beating our rivals like red-headed stepkids*, Raheem Mostert is now has the 2nd-highest rushing yardage total along with 13 rushing TDs and 2 receiving TDs. Glad to see Coach sticking with his plan to put emphasis on the running game. Also: Glad he stuck with it without signing Dalvin Cook with the intent of making him our RB1. Also like how strong Wilson was in his touches today.

*No offense intended to either gingers or stepkids.

What "isn't right" about those numbers? It's the literal numbers.

We just beat a division rival on the road and are currently sitting as the #1 seed in the AFC. But the sky is falling because Tua had two bad decisions all game.

The sky isn't falling but he's had two INTs in both of the last two games. That's not a good look.

Mostert has a fumbling problem. Should we focus on that or his 13 TDs?

    Game grades from cbssports.com:

    A-
    Dolphins
The Dolphins defense is almost always overshadowed by Miami's high-flying offense, but not in this game. The defense stole the show by beating up on Jets QB Tim Boyle, who was making his first start since 2021. Not only did they sack him five times -- with two of those coming from Christian Wilkins -- but Jevon Holland also came up with the play of the game when he returned a pick 99 yards for a TD on the final play of the first half. The Dolphins surrendered just 159 yards, marking the first time since 2003 that they've given up under 160 yards in a game. Offensively, not many teams have had success attacking the Jets' secondary this year and Tua Tagovailoa found out why. Tua threw two interceptions, including a pick-six in the first half. Despite those mistakes, the Dolphins were still able to move the ball through the air with Jaylen Waddle (eight receptions for 114 yards) and Tyreek Hill (nine catches, 102 yards, 1 TD) both hitting the 100-yard mark. We didn't learn much from the Dolphins in this game, but if you're a good team in the NFL, you need to take care of business against bad teams and that's what Miami did here.

    D

    Jets
The Jets offense was pretty bad with Zach Wilson running it, and things actually somehow got worse with Tim Boyle under center. The Jets punted on six of their first seven possessions and the only drive in that span that didn't end with a punt was ended when Tim Boyle threw a 99-yard pick-six on a Hail Mary attempt at the end of the first half. The Jets only had 50 yards through three quarters before adding to that total in garbage time. The only reason this grade isn't an 'F' is because the Jets defense did its best to keep New York in this game. The unit came up with two interceptions, including a pick-six by Brandon Echols that had the Jets within 10-6 late in the first half. If there was any hope of Aaron Rodgers returning to save the season, that seems out the window now with the Jets now sitting at 4-7.

Well, except for the fact that he didn’t have two INT’s the last two games. The only other multi pick game he had was against the Giants in week 5.

Two bad plays to be sure but all QBs throw INTs. Josh Allen has 12, Hurts 9, Mahomes 9, etc.

As was already noted, Tua did not have two INTs against the Raiders. He had one. His only other game this season with two was against the Giants. Does this change your perspective?

A little perspective on the Dolphins offense. They are still #1 in average points per drive and average yards per drive. They are #5 in % of drives that end in a score and #9 in drives that end in a turnover. Their yardage total (395) against the Jets was 2nd highest on the season, KC had 401. 3 turnovers isn't good but for comparison, the Bills had 4 in week 1, KC had 2, and the Eagles had 4. 228 passing yards by Tua was the 4th highest allowed this season with nobody reaching 270. The 167 rushing yards was 3rd highest allowed.

I hate the "if we were playing a better team" argument. We weren't playing a better team, we were playing the Jets. I get it that INTs are bad but it can happen when you are playing aggressive.

The Chargers had no turnovers against the Jets but totaled only 107 passing yards. Different philosophy and both led to convincing victories. 107 passing yards aren't going to beat most teams but it beat the Jets 27-6.

I'd also like to add that Tua got his yardage total in three quarters essentially. They ran the ball almost entirely in the 4th quarter burning the clock.

The offense has his issues but we still have 6 weeks and a potential bye week to get it right before we play.. we will be alright.

If achane is able to return to form and health.. we can run our offense through our running backs and get the explosiveness we had in the first few weeks.

I just think that for half the game, it was a one score game, so people legitimately had/have concerns that if it was a playoff team, you might not have the luxury of letting then hang around for one half while the offense doesn't score.

Yes, the final result is certainly reassuring, but I'd rather they put the bad teams away early.

Up until the last minute of the first half it was 10-0 before it was 17-6. It was a one score game for a total of about 1 quarter in the first half.

I don’t think there’s been one game for the Jets when they’ve been put away early this entire season.

This Jets team beat the Bills and Eagles at home and had the Chiefs on the ropes.

The fact that it was a close game for 2 quarters shouldn't be a concern to anyone.

None of these games are easy. The Jets beat the Eagles and Bills and took KC to the limit. Yet we are expected to roll them while Tua plays a flawless game?

The way our defense was controlling their offense, it never felt like the Jets were truly in the game.

IMO the biggest issue is the OL. We need to get healthy there to have the best chance. Armstead, Jones, Williams, Hunt, Jackson needs to be the starting lineup soon and for the remainder of the season.

Lamm is a solid backup and Kion Smith played both tackle spots yesterday. For part of the game, the OL was Lamm, Cotton, Williams, Eich, and Smith. We still moved the ball on a good defense. The running game was very encouraging.

It's starting to come together on both sides. The Phillips loss is huge, but guys are just going to have to step up. Ogbah, AVG, Chubb, and Seiler can hold it down.

I said a few weeks back we have a top 10 defense and a few mocked me saying how average we are at defense…..

There are always shootouts in the NFL even against the best defenses.. but when i see the defense consistently make weekly game changing plays, thats a top defense.. and theyve done that more often than not this season

Meanwhile, it may have gone unnoticed that we've at least split our division games with two more remaining. And both of those are at Hard Rock.

Reading through a lot of these posts just really makes me shake my head. Take this for example…

Prior to this game we had some posters state, words to the effect of, the Jets have a GOOD defense…the Jets defense is no joke, etc.

Ok, let’s take that at face value…The Jets have a great defense. The Jets defense shows up and does WHAT THEY ARE and plays lights out defense. So Tua sucks because the Jets have a great defense and played great? They did what they were supposed to do…and yet the Dolphins still won!

It’s kinda like a foot race between Tyreek Hill and Austin Jackson. Tyreek’s a fast man everyone would say and when Tyreek wins the race, instead of crediting him for his speed, point the finger at Jackson and tell him how much he sucks.

I would sort of agree with you, except that the offense was moving the ball. Wasn't like the Jets had shut the offense down. I don't think anyone is saying that Tua sucks?

Again, the end result was fine. Just disconcerting how we got there. Kinda like the crazy Ravens game. Great result. However, I'd like to not have to get to the win that way ever again.

Not really that Tua sucks, but the Jets game is the type of correction I've been talking about. People keep clamoring about Tua being #1 in passer rating, well guess what, he's 5th now. They had the weakest schedule coming into these games, and the corrections will keep on coming as they continue to face great pass defenses. Props though for Tua staying healthy. That was something I didn't think he could ever do.
