The Dolphins may be getting left tackle Terron Armstead back for their Week Nine game against the Chiefs.

Armstead has been on injured reserve for the last four weeks, so he is eligible to return to action this week. Head coach Mike McDaniel said at his Monday press conference that Armstead will travel with the team to Germany and be evaluated throughout the week before the team decides whether or not to activate him for Sunday’s game.

Kendall Lamm has been starting in Armstead’s place in recent weeks. The Dolphins were also playing backups at left guard and center to start their Week Eight game against the Patriots and right guard Robert Hunt left with a hamstring injury during the win.

McDaniel said on Monday that Hunt is day-to-day, so Armstead won’t be the only injured lineman to monitor this week.

I said at the beginning of the season we should sit Armstead until the playoffs. I changed my mind. He should sit until we play Buffalo.

Have we heard anything on Williams and Hunt? I remember Williams was available for yesterday’s game

Normally I would agree with you but there is way too much at stake in this game. We have a bye after the game. Players can lick their wounds after this game but for this game?

    Its all hands on deck!

This game is far too important, this is the chance to get a tie breaker on the Chiefs for #1 in the AFC. If they are taking Armstead to Germany they must be seriously thinking about activating him for the game.

I think the holding guys like Williams and X out was with this game in mind. They have tried to get as healthy as possible for this game.

You're probably right. They could also have Armstead suit up and go in if our line keeps losing guys again this week. I just feel like Armstead can't get through a game without getting injured so why even play him? They're doing fine without him.

I would activate him if there's a chance he can play healthy. The reason is because KC is always a threat on offense and our run game will be critically important (as it was with Philly) to limit the touches Mahommes gets. Last week, he had the flu and was nowhere near 100%. I'm guessing he will come out firing this week and looking to make a statement. The best way to beat Mahommes is to keep him off the field.

The path to victory is pretty obvious- points on the board early, force them to play from behind, pound them in the run game to open those passing lanes for easy 1st downs and scores. The only problem is, KC has the exact same strategy. So it's going to be a battle of wills in the first quarter that will set the tone for this game.

I don't think you can stop Mahommes and Kelce, just like you can't stop Tua and Tyreek. Big plays will happen and Miami's defense generally leaves Ramsey and Howard at home, regardless where the top receivers line up. Really hoping it's Needham (if he's ready) on Kelce with X and Ramsey playing those sniper roles that they're so good at.

I have a great feeling about this game and I think Miami wins it, but I'm also nervous because the long travel really makes it anyone's game. It could be Miami vs the Giants or the Panthers and I'd still have the same underlying concerns.

Each time he gets injured midgame.. it feels like an anvil fell on our offense.. and then we are trying to get another linemen in rhythm.. and tua is getting rushed more often

His conditioning looks poor for a top flight left tackle, he gets paid like a top 5 left tackle. He cant just roll off the couch and go play high level football. He needs to get his conditioning and strength on point. Its his job to be in the best condition possible..

it is what it is anymore. We need him against the Chiefs and Buffalo. After this year we have to move on from him. He's not the same player anymore and can't stay on the filled to much money for a part time player.

He is the same player - when he plays. That's the problem. In his defense this last injury he got rolled up on. That can happen to any lineman on any play.

Can we get away from him/his contract? If so, they had better have a plan in place to replace him, either through the draft or free agency.

Need a plan regardless as he’s not able to play half our games anymore.
