Yeah Bills losing is huge! Thanks Jacksonville. Also love the Patriots getting embarrassed 34-0. They're not a division threat, but Belichick is still hoping to beat Shula's record for all-time wins (347 for Shula, 330 for Belichick), and each loss makes it more likely Belichick will get canned (or "retire") before he has that chance lol.
Bills lose and breaking news: The Patriots are straight ***. I'm almost about ready to be nervous about them being in contention for Caleb Williams. I want that guy in the NFC so bad.
btw.. Baltimore losing today was really helpful too. We're back in the race for the first round bye, with KC being the only other team in the AFC that could be 4-1 after today. Hope Minnesota somehow pulls out a win!
Right now, they look much worse than Chicago and/or Arizona, so I share your nervousness. The only thing keeping them afloat was their D, and with Gonzalez out for the year and Judson out until December, that unit won’t be able to keep them in games. The offense is a dumpster fire; nothing is going to save that group. I almost feel bad for Parker and Gesicki, lol
It has to be one of the worst games of football I've half watched in a long time. Both teams trying their best to choke away the game.
Giants, Jests and Panthers will probably be up there. Or down there, as it were. There are TEN teams right now with 1 or 0 wins. Some will win today, but man ... there are a lot of bad teams.
I can understand your sympathy for Gesicki. I like him but have no pity for Parker. He had every chance to excel here in Miami and he just plain sucked.
It will be interesting to see what teams like Arizona and the Giants do if they end up at the bottom. Do they move on from their incumbent qbs or try to improve the rosters around them? If they decide to move on, how do they get out from under their respective contracts? Assuming the season continues as it has, I can’t see anyone trading for Daniel Jones and taking on that contract. Assuming Murray plays this year and proves that he’s healthy, maybe someone takes a chance, but they are not giving up a boatload of picks AND taking on his contract. I think both teams are screwed. Since Chicago hasn’t opened the vault for Fields, they would have a much easier time moving on from him, but I don’t see much success for anyone with that coaching staff.
Pretty sure Giants can move on after next year without much pain. Not that that would stop them from drafting Caleb Williams. Arizona just seems too feisty to not a win few more games.
If the season progresses the way it has, I don’t know how they can continue with him, especially with a deep qb class in next year’s draft. Murray is supposed to be back sometime this season, so my guess is the new coaching staff will use that time to evaluate the situation.
