It might be good that he was able to get up and walk to the sideline. Ramsey was injured during an 11-on-11 session when he collided with wide receiver Tyreek Hill on a pass that was deflected by linebacker Jerome Baker. After getting off the ground, Ramsey grabbed the back of his left knee before walking to the sideline. Ramsey then was examined by trainers while on his back for several minutes before getting up. Head coach Mike McDaniel and fellow defensive backs members Xavien Howard and Jevon Holland came over to check on Ramsey or talk to him while he was on the ground. A cart was brought behind the sideline closest to the stands at the Baptist Health Training Complex and Ramsey hopped on without putting any weight on his left leg. Practice ended as Ramsey left the field on the cart.
And so it begins. It's like our secondary is cursed or something. Somebody made the point that we should pump the brakes on assuming the worse because even if it's a tweak, it makes no sense to have him hobble into the locker room.
Being a Dolphin fan (for me personally) is like being told I have a green light every day only for Aunt Flo to show up and ruin the fun.
Also.. i already know what we have from waddle, hill, tua, xavien and other stars… lets not run their asses to the ground.. im not playing any of them any preseason games..
He was supposed to have an MRI “later” today: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...rent-knee-injury-in-training-camp-per-report/
I'm just gonna say he misses the first 8 games as a worst case scenario. Healthy for the stretch run. I'll take it.
Miniscus Injury. I thought the black cloud/curse was lifted for this organization but apparently not.
Well this stinks. No need to panic, though. Good depth and excellent coaching. First three games are still very winnable.
Ok, trying to find the silver lining… If an all-pro cornerback can get a knee injury covering an all-pro, cheetah of a wide receiver, then maybe every other cornerback to covers the cheetah will also get a knee injury and deplete opposing defenses’ secondaries. Maybe?
Even though we have good depth at CB, it hurts losing a top 10 player at the position, regardless of who replaces him. I was wondering who would be the odd man out among Trill and Nik, but that now appears to be a moot concern. Just hope we don't see our secondary hit with injuries like it was last season.
And how good our top draft pick really is. We do have options, but this will limit the flexibility of what Fangio can do with the secondary, methinks.
So the MRI didn’t show the extent of the tear; they won’t know how bad it is until surgery. If it’s only a partial tear, he could be back in September: https://phinphanatic.com/posts/jale...t-the-miami-dolphins-cb-s-injury-01h6e9syd5m3 Surgery is today, so keep your fingers crossed.
Of course, it was the more serious of the two outcomes, so he’s out until December. https://www.nfl.com/_amp/dolphins-c...full-meniscus-repair-expected-to-be-out-until Knowing Miami’s luck, is anyone surprised?
Yes, the Dolphins will be the only team that gets a major injury this preseason. No other team gets injuries. Enough with the pathetic "aw shucks just our luck", wah wah. Miami's odds in the division, conference or Super Bowl haven't changed. You know why? The only reason the Dolphins will win a Superbowl is if Tua plays 19-20 games. Ramsey is a luxury and something tells me will be back sooner than that December timeline. The front seven is stacked and will make the secondary's job easier. Stop whining. Sick of the loser mentality Dolphins fans have.
Next man up. Kader, Cam Smith, Needham, Trill. We're good to go. It's fine. Agree that the team goes as Tua goes.
Yup it sucks but we need to move on. I'm not holding my breath for him to come back at all this season. No need to rush him back with the depth we have at CB.
Nobody is whining - we were discussing a major injury to a key player on a message board dedicated to the team. PS. I’ve been a Dolphins fan for 49 years. Don’t tell me what kind of “mentality” I have.
I think that this is prime example of the benefits of drafting best player available. On draft day, it was difficult to have a short term vision with Cam Smith. Now, he has a real chance of making an early impact on the team. Prior to the Ramsey injury, I have heard that he really looks the part. Obviously, the Ramsey injury hurts, but on a side note, we will get better at a time when many teams will be getting worse.
Great move to draft Smith. But we need to bring in all these veteran DB FA’s for workouts and sign atleast one if they look healthy and competent. Im not sure where all this ‘depth’ is people are seeing. Howard- looked terrible last season. Smith- rookie 2nd round pick. I’m optimistic, But we’ve seen many 1st round DB’s get eaten alive as rookies in NFL. Kahou- Undrafted small school player. Showed some raw promise. Also committed pass interference at a shocking rate. Needham- Coming back from Achilles tear. Maybe worst injury for a skill position NFL player to fully recover from. And still on PUP. Trill Williams- Had a couple nice camp practices. But ultimately an undrafted nobody. (And of course injured) Crossen - Inconsistent. Not much of an answer to get high volume snaps. Noah I - special teams Gunner Bethel - special teams gunner.
Grier wasting no time shoring up the secondary - nice. Now, if he would only move that quickly on the OL, lol.
watched his interview. I like what I heard from him. Someone asked him a dumb question and it looked like he really got pissed. Forget what the question was now.
