Yeah Skylar... throw it to gesicki as he's running into double coverage and has turned his head upfield to run past it. This kid isn't good.
Why does Jimmy G sign here when he could probably get a starter job in Washington, Las Vegas, or Jets?
Neither are long term answers, but theyll be good for the short term to compete. ive said before mcdaniels should be allowed to draft his own quarterback.. there will be some nice prospects in the second or third round
It’s definitely not as simple as this. It’s systemic and in our blood. We need everyone, legit EVERYONE gone.
I think they should do that, and still go after Brady/Rodgers. Jimmy G doesn't do much to move the needle. It's a lateral move.
Flores had the entire roster ripped apart and every single quality player traded away and the team played better than what we're seeing this year. This was a win now roster that fell way short. Penalties killed us all season and that's poor coaching.
So many potential issues with this collapse. Special teams, offense, QB, defense, coaching, GM, owner.
That was a bad coaching decision. Mac Jones wasn't doing anything. You punt and pin them deep and force Mac Jones to do something. Sanders still sucks but that's on McDaniel.
Why would Jimmy G sign with Miami and have to compete? He can go to several other teams and be the starter. Grier already 'fixed' the OL this season, and he'll do it again in 2023 successfully? With no first rounder? Another DC would be good, but the secondary is a mess and even Howard might be done (hard to tell until he plays healthy). Real change starts at the very top, and that won't happen. Tua was the wrong pick at QB, along with the other draft mistakes by Grier and it will take yet another rebuild to try and clean up this mess.
And who fired Flores? Who hired McDaniel? Who drafted Tua over Herbert? Who had a disaster of a 2020 draft? Who traded away all the picks and money for Chubb? Who signed Howard and Jones? This isn't even close in terms of who is responsible.
Oh Grier is responsible for all of it but he's not going anywhere. McDaniel will be gone as soon as Payton commits to taking the job.
Even if Ross wanted to do that there is zero reason to think he could land Payton. He would probably try and fail and then stick with McDaniel repeating history from when they tried to get Harbaugh.
That being said. Proud of the fans this year. We endured a lot from the Tua saga yet we got our best players voted in the pro bowl and Tua was the best selling jersey. We deserve better.
Disagree. Dolphins fans got what they deserve after buying the narrative Flores was the problem. They bought the whole he hated Tua and that was the whole problem real quick. They sided with the billionaire. The guy who tried losing on purpose. The guy who has kept Grier in place. They bought his whole narrative and forgot what Flores was able to accomplish with a mediocre roster.
So where was the outrage when Flores was fired? Why did they side with Ross? Answer: The Tuanon segment of the fanbase loves Tua more than the team. They were ecstatic to find a fall guy for Tua's problems. It was all Flores' fault, even though the whole front office wanted to move on from Tua. McDaniel hired and he loves Tua and everything is going to be amazing now. Loved the Chubb trade of going all-in on Tua and this team. Well, glad to see reality take a shi* on their heads. They should have backed the coach that did amazing things with a talentless roster and trusted his evaluation of an over-drafted QB. Now this organization is beyond fcked for the foreseeable future, and the guy that created the mess will likely pass blame once again.
Some people were mad but what is there to be mad about? Ross can't fire himself. The problem was always making a choice between Flores and Grier. They should have shared the same fate but you are pretending that making the opposite choice and giving Flores more power would mean we would be in a better spot. How are they better with 6 games of washed Watson and even less picks and cap space? At least you are admitting you are glad things went bad so you can claim to be right.
I got a white Tua jersey for Christmas....and I already had the aqua Tua jersey. Hopefully nobody gets me the orange one for my birthday next year, LOL.
How is Watson washed? He's playing horribly. It's been a very weird year for him, but if you think Tua has more of a future in this league then you are in denial. Watson will bounce back because he's young AND he has a very large sample size of being elite and staying healthy.
Tua's record in previous seasons was more based on the defenses holding teams to 10 points. This year it's more about him missing good teams so his numbers can be inflated. Not needing to play through injuries. Tua isn't the team, but he's more on par with backups like Bridgewater. Time to get an actually good QB that can stay on the field.
He looks very horrible and that is the reality even we assume he isn't going to be shot mentally after all that has happened. Making it about Tua vs Watson is irrelevant but the Dolphins wouldn't be stuck with him. They would be stuck with Watson and with even less avenue to improve with even more roster holes because they don't even have Tyreek.
I'd rather be stuck with a franchise level QB that stays on the field. Watson isn't playing like one but I'd bet a lot on a bounceback. Dolphins right now are in a worse position because they don't have a franchise QB but might continue to pretend they do.
Look at their career statistics. It's absurdly close. I think Bridgewater actually edged Tua in stuff as well.
