I hope the refs atleast got Tre’devious White to sign the game ball for them.

They teamed up for a great game together…

We could definitely use better talent at CB, and even LB, but really it's the DC that needs to be changed. I said a few months ago McDaniel should show some guts and get rid of Boyer mid-season. Still think he should have done that. Get a better DC and I think this current group will do a lot better. Talent-wise I don't see the need for a full blow up again.

Can't put this one on the offense. Tua did his job. Defense failed us tonight.

If Sherfield catches the TD pass or if Boyer knew his head from his ***, that game was winnable

The thing that was most annoying tonight was mark Sanchez. He was rooting for the bills all night and getting so happy every time they made a play. He kept referring to their team as "what WE need to do here". They saw nothing wrong with how the Buffalo D was playing and would call out should be penalties on Miami.

It was airborne before because Kahou was already holding way before the ball got there, even if he had not interfered at the end he was going to get called for holding anyway.

Was a good game, great to see Salty Tua once again...not sure where that guy was the previous two weeks. Tua played very well, had multiple TD's dropped that ended up field goals. Maybe that extra wasn't enough to win, but it would have been a much closer game. I'm also cooling on Tyreek...he dropped so many key 3rd downs that hit him in the hands. Waddle is the better receiver right now.

It feels like Howard is past his prime since he was out of position so much, but some of those plays could have been blown zone coverage as well. The run D looks great, but the secondary is really hurting overall. They played great in the 3rd and parts of the 4th, then we give up back to back drives when it really matters. Very disappointing. The pass rush is developing though- especially Seiler's huge sack while throwing defenders to the side like a rag doll.

One other note, I don't know what pass interference is anymore. Tyreek was mugged many times and they'd show the slo-mo replay of a defender wrapped around his waist with the ball in the air still...what the heck? Calls just didn't feel consistent.

A few gripes for our head coach as well- we were dominating in the run game, only to get in the red zone and pass. WHY!?! Keep pounding the rock until they can shut it down. It wasn't Tua's passes either, he was placing the ball well, they just weren't being caught. Running more also keeps the clock running and keeps the D off the field- would have been a win/win.

One final thing- the RB that slid to the ground with 34 seconds left instead of scoring a TD. Opinions- was that the right call? I thought that was foolish since they could have missed that FG in the heavy snow with a bad snap, a bad hold, a bad kick, etc.

No idea why you can have that take after last night. If the offence plays like that the rest of the season we win out and will be a danger in the playoffs.

I'm not sure that anyone should be unhappy with our receivers. They're getting mauled all over the field, and zero calls. Hard to catch balls when you have defenders draped all over you.

I know there’s no such thing as a moral victory in the NFL, but last night wasn’t the blowout everyone was predicting. We went up there in the cold and the snow and pushed the supposed “best” team in the league to the very end, even with the best efforts of the refs to make it a Buffalo rout. Tua played better (not perfect)than he has ever done before in crappy weather.

Clearly, the injuries on defense are going to be impossible to overcome against the better teams in this league, but the defensive game plan and adjustments (or lack thereof) are a huge part of why we can’t get stops when we need them. Boyer has to be held accountable for the performance of the defense. A better DC, a healthy secondary and better LBs will make a world of difference.

I know I've been all over the place on Tua, but last night gave me hope that he can turn it around, limitations or not. I have no real issues with Tua's performance last night.

The defense is the worst, and has been all year. When the offense has to score 30 points a game just to be competitive, then we are in a world of hurt.

Definitely Not in one on one press coverage with zero help over the top. (Like that PI play)

They sold out on the run (or a 3 yard pass at the sticks) and guessed wrong.

After digesting last night’s game, here’s my take on it.

All last week, everyone was predicting a blowout, including many posters here. No body gave Miami a chance at all. Buffalo is too good, Josh Allen is the best quarterback in the league, Miami can’t run the ball, Tua sucks, defense sucks, it’s going to be too cold. That’s all we heard. Well, how did that work out?

First…Buffalo really isn’t ALL that and here’s how I’m going to quantify this. If Buffalo was really all that, the Dolphins would have been BLOWN AWAY!! If Buffalo is REALLY that good and our defense was really THAT bad, they should have easily dropped a 40 burger on us, but they didn’t. Credit to our defense, or Is Buffalo not really ALL that? It’s one of the two. Our defense can’t suck that badly and Buffalo scored so few on us…but if our defense sucks that badly, Buffalo really isn’t this offensive powerhouse the media darlings have crowned.

On the other side of the ball, if the Dolphins offense is that weak, then what does that say about the Bills defense? The Dolphins put up 190 yards rushing, averaging nearly 8 yards per carry. Their defense is definitely suspect. If it was just us that did it to them, ok a one off, but the Jets did the same thing to them! Miami’s passing game got off to a slow start. Tua was off a bit on some of his passes, but just how many in completes were there that were DPI that weren’t called? Hill was mugged all night. We all saw it. We also saw Hill and Sherfield both, back to back plays drop passes that would have been touchdowns. For all the criticism against Tagovailoa, he actually played much better than the stat line shows.

Bottom line is this…if I were a Bills fan, I would hope we didn’t have to play the Dolphins again. We beat them once, we were shocking them all night at freezing Orchard Park and nearly pulled it out…I wouldn’t want to go against that again.

For the naysayers who think we’re done, after seeing last night’s game, we’re winning out folks. The only question is going to be…where will we be playing in the Wildcard Round?

No I think your take on that is wrong. Buffalo is a strong team, but so are we. KC and Buffalo are clearly the best teams in the AFC, just like Philly and Minnesota in the NFC. The average points scored per game in the NFL this season is 22, so when Buffalo puts up 32 against us that's a very good performance. It was way more than our average of 24.6 ppg allowed so far this season. Similarly, Buffalo's defense is averaging 17.9 ppg so when we put up 29 that's VERY impressive.

Our offense performed great against one of the best defenses in the NFL. We showed we can play the best in the cold, in December, in playoff-like situations and just barely miss out on a win. Our defense is still suspect but this Dolphins team has the best chance of winning a playoff game since the 2000 season — or the best chance of winning an away playoff game since the 1999 season against Seattle.

It was a combination of us being well prepared for the game and playing well, and Buffallo being overrated. I dont think buffalo is as good as everyone says.

It's mostly just a one man show.

Umm.. wait a second. You yourself were the one who kept pushing this idea that Tua's struggles were mostly due to playing good defenses. You incorrectly predicted he'd play well against the Chargers because they have a weak defense, and you also incorrectly predicted he'd fare poorly against the Bills the second time around because they have a good defense.

Let's not start this revisionism again with "Buffalo overrated" kind of talk. They weren't overrated to you BEFORE the game. Tua and the offense played well against one of the top defenses in the NFL in an away game in the cold in December.

btw.. you also predicted he'd fare poorly against the Jets and NE to end the season because they also have good defenses. No revisionism please. Too much of that each time Tua plays well. Let's see how he does to end the season, but this game he proved you wrong.

That chargers game really screwed us.If the jets and Chargers win today we have fallen all the way down to the 8th seed and out of playoffs at least for this week.
They played really well last night but doesn't matter a loss is a loss. 0-3 in December is not what we had in mind when we were 8-3 and had aspirations of Afc east title and shot at number 1 seed.
Nothing but dissapointment in my book and I don't see how we can beat anyone in the playoffs when your def gives up 30 a game on the road.

How many times are you going to move the goalposts this season? It’s like you have them on a pair of roller skates and just move them every time your narrative is proven wrong.

You are either one of those people that just likes to play devil’s advocate all the time or maybe a troll, I’m not sure to be honest.

What’s truly sad is if we had this version of Tua in San Francisco that’s a win. I blame the LA loss on coaching.

After letting the bourbon and emotions wear off, here are my thoughts:

    The Good:
    -our running game
-tua played very well in spite of the conditions
-played the game close even though many predicted a blow out

    The Bad:
    -our defense
-LG and RT are major issues with this offense
    -play calling is erratic

    The Ugly:
-this team is not built to compete at the highest level. The core of this team is on this current roster, we’ve leveraged our future for this and it’s still not good enough. With maybe one of the largest haul of draft picks in recent history, Grier has built a team that struggles on the road which means we won’t be getting home field advantage and likely not winning playoff games

Injuries are a part of the game, but defensively, we’ve been decimated. Jones x2, Flowers, Needham, Ogbah, Williams. It’s tough to be able to compete defensively when you have so many of your starters on IR. We do have decent talent on defense. The problem however is when you don’t adapt to what you have remaining, you’re going to get burned. That’s pretty much what has happened to our defense this season. We can play could’a, should’a would’a all day long but if we hadn’t lost so many defensive starters, I’m certain a lot of these games would have gone differently.

Offensively, I truly believe the only 2 weaknesses we have are the OL (a perineal issue) and the rookie play calling of our head coach. McDaniel has done a fantastic job his first year but we do need to call balls and strikes…he’s called some questionable plays that’s been game changers. I believe that’s only going to get better with experience.

I hear you but a lot of teams are dealing with that. Chargers are missing Bosa, James and Slater. Bills Miller, Hyde and Poyer for a chunk of the season. The Ravens were missing most of their secondary when we played them just like the Bills.

Maybe we’re healthier next year and the story changes. I think we need to move on from Byron Jones, use that money for LG, RT or ILB. Fortunately you can find good IlB and G’s in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
