So last night I had a dream last night we beat the Bills 27-24 on last second FG.Seemed so real so let's hope I am a prophet!
Let's hope so. But with the snow, cold weather and playing in Buffalo it really brings out our weaknesses. Offensively our best asset is the passing game, but statistically passer ratings tend to go down by about 0.8 points for every 10 degrees lower temperature, so that cuts out maybe around 5 passer rating points from otherwise expected. And depending on the severity of the snow that lowers it even more. We also have a bad running game, and bad defense, especially away. So on the face of it we shouldn't win this game and should probably look bad with our passing offense. But hey.. good teams overcome, and there are no excuses. Have to get the job done. So let's hope you're right.
The one bright spot is that our run defence is excellent, we need to worry about containing Allen more than their running game. I still think this will be a tight, lowish scoring game that we definitely have a shot at winning.
Field conditions are going to be the determining factor in this game. If there is accumulation on the field, he who keeps their footing, wins
I hope your dream comes true, but I suspect this game will get ugly early and Buffalo wins by at least 2 TDs. I just can't imagine Miami winning this game in Buffalo weather at night with the problems they've had on offense. I think 49ers gave the NFL the script to shut down Miami's offense, and unless McDaniel has come up with a quick answer on a short week, this will be an ugly game.
The heavy snow is a wildcard in all of this, so I think the team that can establish the run and limit turnovers will be the one who wins. I'm not expecting a big passing game from either side, but hopefully Tua gets to take a shot or two due to the run-heavy playbooks. We all know a 7-yard slant to Waddle or Hill can be a TD from anywhere on the field. Stop the run, establish our run game, contain Allen, land a few quick shots for long gains. It's doable but I don't have any confidence in guessing a score for this one. Side note- hoping we see someone slide for 10+ yards untouched, then get up and run the ball some more. Gotta love snow games!
It would be really cool to see Hill outrun defenders in a snow covered field.. everyone running in slo-mo and they still can't catch Hill? lol.
You could bet BIG on Miami and make a profit. The Bills are not a cold weather offense, so I expect them to be slowed down too. I just don't know if Tua can do enough in tough weather conditions, while Allen can still force passes through sheer arm strength. We need the running game to show up and to get at least two turnovers and a 20-17 Miami win is possible.
Yea just heard 25 mph winds and 4-9 inches on field. We are going to have run 30 times to have any shot. I don't think either team will be able to pass
This snow might play into our hands. Our weakness on D is pass defence.I wouldn't say they are this great running team but that is our strength. The key will be to contain Allen.
True story. I once had a prophetic Dolphins/Bills dream the night before the game. Week 17 of the 2001 season, I dreamed that we beat the Bills by about 30 points and Broke Marion scored a 100 yard TD, and we won 34-7 with Marion scoring on a 100 yard INT return as time expired. In my dream, I thought it had been a kick off return. When I was in HS and University, I used to have all sorts of dreams of mundane every day events that would later happen, but that was the only one that involved the Fins.
The key will be running the ball, but unfortunately, Wilson is injured. Mostert by himself will not be enough:
I don’t think this game ends well for Miami. We’ve got 0 run game and I don’t think Tua is a cold weather QB. Maybe our front 7 can keep us in this game but these conditions seem perfect for a guy like Allen. Im just hoping we can finish 2/3 or better and still make the playoffs. Cutting Jones and spending that money on OL so we can run the ball and have a more balanced offense will only help Tua and this team take the next step.
Did you watch the video I posted? If these conditions are going to be as horrendous as forecasted, neither quarterback is really going to be the difference maker. It’s all going to come down to the run and Miami’s run defense is actually pretty solid. With our speed…and if Moestert, Hill and Waddle can maintain their footing, it’s actually possible we could see our offense break free on some jet sweeps.
Allen is big and can run. Plus his arm strength is better so if passing does happen, he’s got the better chance.
The snow is supposed to start falling again any minute now. The clean field will be covered well before the game ends unless the weather forecast is way off. I'll feel better if Miami can at least be competitive; the worst thing would be to see the team quit and get smoked by 20+ points.
