I would like to add a warm body at DB. Cheap veteran running back help would be nice too. Nervous about how this backfield would look should Mostert go down…. I doubt Geisiki gets traded. He has played well and factored into the recieving game nicely the last few games.
Not ideal timing for us. But Probably won’t be fully integrated into the offense in time for this weekends game.
I doubt he’ll have much of an impact in the game against us. 4 days isn’t a lot of time to learn the playbook and develop chemistry with the QB.
I think if we had a decent offensive line that could effectively run block, Gaskin MIGHT be able to shine should Moestert go down. Edmonds has just been such a disappointment. He may be a strong back, but his vision and instincts seem to really lack.
Chubb to Dolphins. The package the Dolphins are giving up will be the 49ers’ 2023 first-round draft pick, the Broncos’ 2024 fourth-round pick and running back Chase Edmonds for Chubb and the Broncos’ 2025 fifth-round pick, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The Dolphins have the 49ers’ first-round pick next year because the 49ers traded up with them to draft Trey Lance in 2021.
Instant upgrade at RB, compared to what Edmonds had been providing. Not a top end talent. But you can count on this Dude to run hard and fearless. Also knows the scheme.
I'd rather them have Claypool on a short week than Quinn and Smith. That said, we gotta go that W. I threw it out there in the other thread too, I wouldn't be surprised to see a RB move, though not necessarily a blockbuster.
And there it is. I wondered after that CMC trade if some of their depth may shake loose to us. Good move, he and Mostert are a nice pair.
Love the Chubb addition. maybe a steep price, but we are desparate for some kind of pass rush. Wilson for Edmonds... I mean ok; I guess. Edmonds has provided us nothing. Who is going to block though for the offense still? Especially with the Eichenberg injury
Hopefully we get some last minute deal done.. im willing to part with another first rounder for a star guard..
Would love to see us add some OL depth or someone who can play G. Need to keep Tua healthy to have any chance at the playoffs this year
For years we have been recycling guys, doing gimmicks for a pass rush like zero blitzes and etc.. we finally got a real pass rusher we havent had here since Wake.. and we need to make sure he stays a dolphin.. i think we can franchise him if he doesnt agree to initial contract negotiations
I'd have to assume they had some parameters of a deal worked out prior to completing the trade. Hell of a risk to take if you didn't. Then again; this is Chris Grier we're talking about.
Jackson should be coming back and he fits at guard better than tackle right now. Shell has been very good at right tackle.
Wilson is a much better zone read back than Edmonds was. I'm betting he has softer hands, too. Our edge options are immediately concerning to opposing OCs. If we're going down, we're going down swinging. We still need to shore up the secondary so we can release the hounds, but we're better on both sides of the ball than we were on Sunday.
I like that trade a lot! The price may seem steep at the moment, but it also shows that this team is in "win now" mode and expecting a deep playoff run. In other words, the front office sees what a lot of us see...and that's pretty spectacular.
A message was sent to players around the league after all the moves we made this year. This isnt the same old dolphins, and while it has looked fun to play for successful franchises like Buffalo and Kansas City… it’s also fun to play next to Waddle and Hill, Chubb and X. And we have something those teams don’t have = location. I bet a lot of players are going to have their agents call Miami in the offseason
Winner: Miami Dolphins I don’t know where Miami’s draft picks are coming from moving forward, but that’s a problem for the future. For now, nobody got better from a pure player perspective than Miami. Bradley Chubb is a fantastic player for the rangy, athletic defense the Dolphins want, but haven’t really achieved up until this point. The biggest stumbling block for Mike McDaniel’s team has been a lack of pressure, and Chubb more than makes up for that. Now Melvin Ingram can be used more traditionally where he’ll shine, and Chubb can play the Joker role which suits him far better. On the surface a 1st might seem like a lot, but that’s coming from San Francisco who won’t be picking until the 20s at earliest. Finding a player of Chubb’s caliber that late in the first round is a stretch, and this helps Miami win now. Meanwhile the second trade for Jeff Wilson might end up feeling more impactful, at least immediately. The 49ers running back gives McDaniel with a player he’s intimately aware of, who can bolster the offense and take some of the pressure off Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to be the only feature points of the Dolphins’ offense. Wilson was expendable for the 49ers after their acquisition of Christian McCaffrey, and a 5th round pick is really low compensation for a player on pace for a 995 yard rushing season. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2022/11/2/23436052/nfl-trade-deadline-winners-losers-jaguars-dolphins
