Rumor is out of Detroit that Hockenson is available. I am all in on McCoachin', and I think he is the real deal. I know that he wants a TE that can do it all, and Hock is that guy. Guys like him do far more that what their stat line show. His blocking ability helps the run game and keeping Tua upright, and he is a receiving threat as well.

We can get cute and try and be cheap and find this type of player in the draft, or we can go out and get him. I think that this is EXACTLY the guy we need, and we should strike while the iron is hot. This is as close as we have ever been to a Super Bowl contender, and a player here and there are far more valuable than draft picks.

We "overpaid" for Tyreek, and it has been one of the best moves in franchise history. We do not need to win every trade to win the Super Bowl.

    Lezzz go!!!!

He is not good. Seriously, he's not an improvement over Big Mike and like him will also be looking for a payday.

He’s a significantly better blocker and he’s been every bit as productive in the receiving game even though he’s been in the quagmire that is the Lions franchise.

I watch them every week being local to the area. He was touted as a Kittle-esque blocker in college but it has never translated. He is average at best and is regularly outmatched and beaten. He is not as good in the passing game. He struggles to catch the ball and goes down easily when he does. He is not a guy who will naturally separate and most of his good games are when defenses ignore him.

There is a reason the Lions are listening despite being the kind of profile guy they should be hanging onto. Dude has about 3-4 good games a year and the rest of the time he is invisible. We would be MUCH better served by adding to the OL, DL or DB groups.

I like Hockenson. If he were locked up for two years on an affordable contract and we could get him on a third day pick, I'd be all over it. But he's got a big cap number next season and like Gesicki, is looking for a big long term deal. As it stands, I'm not even sure we could fit his 2023 cap number under our cap as tight as we are.

I'd be very excited at the prospect of running a 2TE base offense with Hill and Waddle on the outside, similar to the Colts when both Manning and Luck were their QBs, but I don't think that this will be the way that happens.

I think if we are going to overpay for Cornerstone type players right now than it should be on the defensive side of the ball or the offensive line.

I would like to grab ‘stop gap’ type cheaper players this deadline at linebacker and RB.

As big as the running game is, I'd also suggest an RB that could better take advantage of the attention paid the passing game. And based on the price for McCaffrey, I'm not sure that would break the draft bank. Cap is another matter though.

Rumor is Cleveland wants a 4th rd pick for Hunt. Ideal back for us between the lines. Off field baggage issues complicate this. Free agent after the season.

David Montgomery is a great pass pro back and excellent physical short yardage back. Underated catcher of the ball too…. Has a 54 catch season. Does not have the speed for the zone run scheme though…

Cam Akers could be had for any late round pick. But he has shown no signs of life in his game since the Achilles.

Remember when "we were getting calls for Rosen?" There is zero chance that Cleveland is getting a 4th for Kareem. Like you said, he is a FA next season, so he is literally a rental.

The other thing that decreases his value is that there loads of RBs that are available from high end to cheap options. You could pay up and get Kamara or someone like Jeff Wilson Jr. and Cam Akers is available. There are talks too that Antonio Gibson could be acquired to.

Just looking at all the options there, Hunt for a 4th just doesn't make sense.

My guess - He either doesn't get traded or goes for something like a 6th.

If we went TE I would want Higbee. He can actually block and catch passes.
