Yup, I felt the exact same way- how could anyone who's not a psychopath think that was an appropriate comment? The Browns owner even said Watson did wrong (and deserves a 2nd chance). I'd be okay with that to some degree if I thought the pervert understood that he couldn't treat women that way in any circumstance.

But if "he's innocent" and he never did anything wrong, then that means he's probably still on the prowl on Instagram and other sites. I hope he gets so many STD's that his wiener falls off...or that he tries to get his jollies on with a judo black belt chick. I'd absolutely love to hear that he's having season ending shoulder surgery for something that happened off the field in a private matter.

We are so lucky he's not in Miami, but think about this for a second. Our owner actually met with this guy and asked him to settle so he could play here. I don't even know what to say about that, it sickens me to the core.

The Browns, if they have any sense, will have hired goons watching and monitoring Watson. Much cheaper to shell out say 150k a year on surveillance than to run through the pile of crap a second time.

That's the baseball message, "Do all the drugs you want! we'll let you back in. But don't place a bet!"

The NFL Rolled over on this and it's most likely because they took it so easy on Kraft a couple years ago. How can you claim to hold owners to a higher standard and only given him a single game!

The ownership in Cleveland may be even worse than ours with Haslam saying in so many words we don't care what he did because he is a star QB. And how can you give someone a 2nd chance that won't even acknowledge he screwed up and needs a 2nd chance? Then how do you like DeShaun's stuff yesterday? 1st there is the issued statement where he apologizes yet again (clearly written by someone else) and shortly there after him professing his innocence again claiming he didn't do anything wrong. That does not sound like a person that understands what he did was wrong. And if he is innocent why the apology AGAIN, AND even accepting the 11 game suspension and 5 million dollar (chump change to him thanks to Cleveland) fine? If you were innocent is that how you would behave? And if the Browns thought he was innocent why did they structure his contract in that way so he could avoid losing more than a mere $600,000+ in salary?

This whole thing is a mere inconvenience more than anything for Watson. What exactly has he learned from this? That he is a star QB and as long as he can play he can get away with anything he wants.

I was against pursuing Watson last year when all this was going on. I can only thank our lucky stars that we didn't end up with this guy.
But for the Grace of God we could be living this whole mess they have in Cleveland if Ross had succeeded.

I really hope that Watson gets the Jacksonville treatment for the rest of his career.

One final though on the 11 game suspension, Who here thinks it's a coincidence that the 1st game Watson is back is against the Texans? Isn't that a little too convenient?

Not only did Pete bet on the outcome of games he could directly influence, he also, in his mid thirties(and married with kids), had an affair with a 16 year old girl (if you believe him - she claims it started when she was 14). He has never taken responsibility for anything he’s been accused of - his only response to questions about his affair with the underage girl is “the statute of limitations has expired, so you can’t prosecute me”.

Don’t hold up one creep to shine a light on another creep.

Never heard of an affair with a 16 year old girl. This is the first I’m hearing about this.

As for the betting, it was revealed in discovery that Rose never…EVER bet against the Reds. Now if he had bet against his own team? Bad juju…but doesn’t it make you wonder…with all of the online betting these days…how many players bet against their own teams?

    Food for thought

I would only be ok with him betting on his team if he was betting on them every game which he claimed to do but he didn't. Not betting on all the games means his decisions as the manager may have been different so its still pretty bad even if its not anywhere near as betting against.

I'm not going to go into detail, but the US sex offender laws are pretty strict. If you get arrested for any sort of "pervert" behavior, it sticks with you for life and never goes away. For instance, one of my kid's friends was 19, fooling around with a 16 year old...they were in love. The girl's parents found out and pushed hard for charges. It went back and forth for years, eventually he took a plea and some community service...but he's labeled a sex offender for the rest of his life. Every job, every house he moves in, it has to be posted for the community to see. He can't even go on school property or see a high school football game once his kid is old enough.

Four years later, that 19 year old married that 16 year old. It's been two years and they're very happy together at 25 and 22, with a one year old kid. But he's still a sex offender for life. The laws were designed for people like DeShaun, not this kid. Yet somehow, in this bizarro world, Watson has no accountability and the people who matter in the NFL don't care.
