LMAO, I was going to post the same thing- they want to keep him as far as possible from the tampering, but hopefully not on Ross's yacht.
Well, the good news is that the suspension will give Ross lots of time to work on his standup routine.
I know this is preseason. I know the first preseason game typically doesn’t have the starters playing for very long. There are a whole lot of other players trying to make the team however for the sake of getting reps in with the new system, I’d like to see the starting offensive unit play this first game against the Bucs for at least midway through the 2nd quarter.
With all the changes and new coaching etc I’d like to see the entire offensive out there for the first half. Tua needs it and the line does rotate w/r if needed but let’s get them gelled early on this year
Not an unrealistic wish. I feel the first few practice games will be used by the coaching staff to primarily "sort-out" who we keep, who we let go and secondarily, who will be our "starters" for the season. The last practice game will a "final sort" of who we keep and may have many of our key players "resting up" for the season opener. I suspect they already know who most of our starters will be, so there will be less focus (I did not say no focus) on our starters except for making sure that they are "up to speed" for the seasons opening game.
On one hand, play Tua to see what you have in this offense. On the other hand, let's take a long, hard look at Thompson to see if he's our QB3 (and a potential future QB1). I could argue either point really.
Could it be that they see such a wide chasm between QB1 and 2 that they've decided it's not worth risking Tua early in pre-season games when players are more likely to make mistakes or go harder trying to earn roster spots.
if he doesn't play, McDaniels said it is because he has shown enough in practice to not need the reps in the first preseason game.
Yea, 1st and 3rd preseason games should be just bubble players' chance to shine and younger players getting more reps.
Yeah, the whole purpose of exhibition games is evaluation, not whether you win or lose. They'll be monitoring which units work and trying to see whose fundamentals didn't translate from practice. Preseason games are much funner to watch in the stadium than they are on TV.
What are you looking for in tonight's game? Any particular players to show up? Any battles to be won?
Curious to see how both Bridgewater and Skylar handles his QB duties. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that Skylar earns QB2 status. Also, here's a guy who wants to prove himself and earn a contract:
Hottest day of the year today in Gibraltar but it's late now, sun is down. Dolphins t-shirt is on, I've had too many of these home cold brew iced coffees and there's just time to kill before the game starts. It'll be a late start for me, I won't finish the game but hopefully I'll get the first quarter. A reminder for anyone who doesn't know, the game is available online, for the cost of signing up for a free account, on NFL Gamepass. Other games are live on there now. https://www.nflgamepass.com/
Well NFL game pass isn’t working. Keep clicking on sign up now and it comes right back to the same page. What were some of the other sites we can stream from?
