The last pick, Kansas St QB, Skylar Thompson, is a good pick. Very very cool.

    PFN Write Profile on Hamilton

Positives: Vanderbilt transfer with the size and speed to play at the next level. Best in a straight line, flashes speed, and has a closing burst. Works well with teammates.

Negatives: Marginally productive throughout his college career. Possesses average ball skills.

Analysis: Hamilton looks the part and occasionally plays to it, yet he never truly elevated his game or lived up

Zaquandre White Gives me Barry sanders vibes. Not that he will be that level but I feel he can be special those Jukes are going to be fan favorites if he can make the team!

Am I right to assume that there is no limit to the number of UDFAs a team can sign for camp?

I like who we drafted and I like who we picked up in UDFA area as well. Hopefully we find a gem out of one of these guys.

Sounds like Kellen Diesch got the most guaranteed money out of this group.

140K for what that is worth.

Nope, we can sign as many as we want. Of course, there's roster limits for training camp, preseason, etc....but otherwise there's no specific rule on UFDA's or draft picks.

Worth about... $140,000.00 unless it was Canadian money. :)

Obviously, they thought he had interest from other teams and Miami wanted to be sure he'd sign with them. Given the level of competition at Center, Kellen has to like his chances.

Huh, I don't know why I thought he was a Center. I guess they plan on bringing in a free agent for that, or a surprise cut.

I watched some film on him, and honestly he doesn't blow me away. Good foot technique, good size (6'7", 300 lbs), and ran the 40 in 4.8. So good stuff there, but he's below average in upper body strength and he has short arms, making him not ideal for tackle at the NFL level.

My guess is they try to convert him to center, he is willing and able to get after people in the run game. But honestly, I don't expect for him to be a starter. His highlight reels were "meh". Nothing bad (it was a highlight reel, after all), but nothing that got me excited either. I watched him in a game against a nobody team and he held his own, but again, I'd expect a guy ready for the next level to be bowling people from a no-name school over, not just looking pretty good.

My initial thought is that there's nothing here to be excited about- he's likely depth at line and may end up on the practice squad this season. But that's also fine from a UFDA, there's no pressure to get him on the field. The good news for me is that he can probably carry 30-40 more pounds without losing much speed, and most of his weaknesses come from lack of strength. That can absolutely be corrected in time and maybe we have something...who knows. But today we don't have much, just an eager blocker with solid speed who looks decent against lousy talent.

I don't know why, but he sort of put me in a mindset of a "Rudy" from Notre Dame? I want to root for the kid, even though he's not that great today. He has that same spirit though, the kind of person who would try to run through a brick wall at 100 MPH if the coach asked him to. So we're all rooting for him to succeed anyway; if he's starting material someday he's likely an all-pro.

White was a top-150 overall recruit nationally coming out of North Fort Myers High School in Florida, where he played for former Florida and NFL running back Earnest Graham. He signed with Florida State in 2017, redshirting that fall and then moving from running back to linebacker before the 2018 season, where he played as a reserve and on special teams in 11 games. White transferred to Iowa Western Community College to get on the field as a running back and wound up a first-team junior college All-American (137-876-6.4, 10 TDs rushing). He transferred to South Carolina in 2020, again showing versatility by suiting up on offense (16-59-3.7 rushing), defense (six tackles) and special teams (2-24-12.0 kick returns) for nine contests. White's perseverance paid off in 2021. He started six of 12 games played (88-583-6.6, two TDs rushing; 19-202-10.6, three TDs receiving). -- by Chad Reuter

    Overview
Explosive, athletic runner with good size but a lack of discipline in his running style. White was a high school runner who played linebacker at Florida State but returned to running back at South Carolina in 2021. He's entertaining to watch with unpredictable, razor-sharp cuts from any spot on the field, but he frequently strays from designed run tracks, which prevents him from finding a rhythm. White has plenty of tread left on the tire and his blend of size and explosiveness will be very appealing for teams looking for a developmental RB3 with run/catch upside to move up the depth chart.

    Strengths
    • Good size with great explosiveness.
    • Springy jump-cut sends him shooting from one gap to the next.
    • Stops on a dime, making cuts at outrageously sharp angles.
    • Creative and unpredictable with the ball in his hands.
    • Very good play strength through contact.
    • Able to pluck the throw outside his frame.
    • Will be able to play special teams.
    Weaknesses
    • Doesn't have very good lane discipline.
    • Reactive runner lacking a consistent plan.
    • Play lacks continuity over the course of the game.
    • Hands are a little stiff as a pass-catcher.
    • Needs technique upgrade in pass protection.
    • Fails to stay square and use inside hands.

Did you confuse him with his teammate Dohnovan West who went to the 49ers as a UDFA, despite also getting 3rd/4th round hype?

That's my "home team" here in the Carolinas but I didn't see White very often. Then I realized that he wasn't the starter and the film showed why; he doesn't stick to lanes and is always looking to make something happen at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels. Very dynamic runner but he sometimes missed holes or decided not to take the "easy" yardage.

From his highlight reels, it's obvious that this kid has incredible talent and it should absolutely translate to the NFL. But it's also the same problem we had with Ajayi- he can't run one for 25 yards and then six more for negative nine. So we'll see if he gets with the program and trusts the scheme or not. I don't remember him getting a ton of carries the past few years, which could actually be a good thing for us.

Exciting prospect nonetheless, and it will be fun watching him develop. I honestly don't know if he can crack the starting rotation this season though.

Every player selected or signed over the weekend has impressive attributes. For UDFAs, a lot of their ability to succeed depends on how willing they are to be coached. Unfortunately, little of what their pro teams will try to get them to do is different from what their college teams taught. So being coachable is vital, but taking the humbling lesson of being undrafted and realizing that your attitude or inability to translate practice to games cost you something you've dreamed of has to sink in. Take the lesson and let your talent give you a second chance.

The big thing is that he has MASSIVE UPSIDE. If this kid develops, he really could be a modern Barry Sanders type of player. But who knows....that's why nobody drafted him.

I like how he’s deliberate in hitting the open holes when they’re there…and how he’ll hesitate for a second for the hole to open however, with the utter speed of the game at the nfl level, into sure if his hesitation will pay off.

Kid does have great vision and a lot of God given talent. Like what I see but then again, that is the college level. We’ll see
