Chiefs fans are in pain right now but.. i think we learned the last few weeks that the price of being in the list for highest paid contracts comes with sacrifice.. rodgers lost adams Mahomes lost tyreek Chiefs also lost Tyrann. ima just say it now, the Chiefs look like the 4th best team in their division.
This offseason does have the feel that maybe Ross gave Grier one more year to make this thing work. Cause this is the exact type of pitfall that we swore against when we purged our team of talent right before drafting Tua and building a team that can become "perennially successful".
This is a great trade. Stop it. And the tua bashers cant admit hes never had the weapons or the OL. He now has both. Its time to cook.
No excuses for Tua. Still have the two first round picks in 2023. Traded for one of the most dynamic receivers in the history of the game at 28 years old. Anyone not liking this trade is insane.
Meaning nothing they do will help the team. Adding Bridgewater is good insurance. Has he every had a WR and RB corp this good? I think with improvements on the line, we'll see a lot better from Tua. And he'll have open receivers to throw to.
This site is hilarious. "SIGN AN ELITE OFFENSIVE LINEMAN". They sign Armstead and Williams. "INJURY PRONE THEY SUCK". "WE HAVE TRASH FOR WIDE RECEIVERS". They sign one of the best receivers in the league Hill. "WE LOST TOO MANY PICKS AND WHAT ABOUT THE CAP SPACE." You people are total comedy.
Eh, we're still a very young team, and kept our picks for next year. Gave away low first round picks this year. This is adding much needed talent that will elevate us immediately. Stud WR and Stud LT give us time to keep drafting and backfilling these star players who will have a 5 year window at best, but make us competitive immediately. Tua's contact will balloon in the next 2-3 years and we'll need to know where we're at with him before we sink money into him long term. If he's "it" this lets us compete now. If he's not "it" we move on from him and have talent surrounding his successor who will come in cheap.
No idea, but as I recall we had a ton of cap space coming into the off season. If so, this is money will spent IMO.
Well worth it. a little pricey contract wise but I am more than happy with the picks we gave up. Primarily because it keeps us in position to make a trade up in the draft for a QB next year if we need to. I really hope Tua shines this season because there are no more excuses if he cant get it done.
I actually like this move. Miami hasn’t had a good dual threat at WR since the Marks Brothers. Hill and Waddle together on the have the potential to burn a lot of defenses. I’m just hopeful that McDaniel has the OL and running game situation sorted out. If he is indeed able to get some good solid blocking and balance on offense, Miami’s offense has the potential to be one of the more explosive offenses in the league. Again, that’s IF the OL and running game is truly fixed. One thing is for sure, McDaniel is being set up for success.
While that is true, we have done that kind of thing before an been crap in the regular season. I want to see us crush the ACTUAL season this time.
Considering how bad Grier is at making first round picks, this seems like a good deal, as he probably would have wasted those anyways. For any competent GM though this is not a good deal, giving up a massive contract and two first round picks is too high a price tag unless you are in win now mode, and I'm sorry to tell you, but Hill is not going to instantly make us super bowl contenders. This team is still too poorly put together for that. This is a desperation move by Grier.
I agree, this is setting up to be the most explosive offense we have had in Miami in 35 years! Cant believe I just typed "35 years".
Exactly. Now, I'm not saying I'm Tua's biggest supporter- its been quite the opposite- but at least they're making the moves to try and up his game and skill set. People just love to b***h about everything just for the " I told you so" factor.
It is not 2 1st round picks it IS a 1, 2, 4 this year and 4 & 6 next year. Most important we keep our 2 firsts next year setting up to make a move at QB if we need to. I think it is an excellent move.
Same thing is said every off-season. Dolphins win the super bowl every off-season according to the homers.
Must say I’m surprised by this news - hadn’t heard that Hill and the Chiefs might be parting ways, but I guess the acquisition of Shuster makes this easier for KC. It does mean a whole lotta speed on the outside for Miami, and that’s exciting. Wonder if this means no more help for the OL, though
As much as I hate to lose draft picks, Tua is accurate and hits receivers on the run. He doesn’t have the arm so his recognition and release will have to be super fast to take advantage of the fastest most agile receiving corp in the league. here is the bigger observation. Tua’s 2018 bama roster had starter Damien Harris, Juedy, waddle, Ruggs and smith. Our roster now resembles that so maybe just maybe Tua returns to championship form if McDaniels can get his offense installed….
Paying $30 million per year for a WR now? Well, I guess the cap is going up and Miami just spent those future increases. Would anyone be surprised if Hill demands a new contract in 2024? I think the guy has TWO really good years left, before age starts to slow him down. All that said; Miami is swinging for the fences in 2022/2023. In a loaded AFC, Tua will have to be a difference maker and we'll find out this year if he can be. Need to know the draft pick details before I can make peace with this move.
