I didn't get to watch the game (had to suffer through Farve drama). Just wanted to know what happened (aside from the obvious). From the look of the stats I would assume that Fitz and Boldin had a field day with our weak secondary and we could never establish the running game.

So did Arizona really look that good or did we look awful? How did Sparano and Henne do?

Serious responses only please. I don't wana waste my time reading about how Ginn sucks and we need to replace Sparano.

    Thanks guys.

Seriously? We played like it was 2007.

We just can't stop shooting ourselves in the foot.

You spared yourself a royal ****ball of a game, we sucked at Each and every position. We created more penalty yards than our offense managed in the first half and I think Bill Parcells left to go play some golf at halftime..(he meet Ginn there) Since I did not see him once..

Miami was that bad. Boldin and Fitzgerald ate our secondary for lunch and would always leave someone open it seemed like. Chris Crocker flat out sucks he was the reason behind many of the big plays Arizona had.

Miami fell behind by too much early to establish a running game. If it had been closer I think they would have had success running. Henne looked great and made throws no one else on this team could make.

Yes, you pretty much got it. Our weak secondary simply couldnt handle Boldin and Fitzgerald. When we did seem to make a play we shot ourselves in the foot with a stupid penalty. too many men on the field... twice i think. Langford makes a sack, gets nailed with a facemask. Goodman, holding and PI calls... etc. etc...

Arizona looked, good, yeah. Keep in mind we arent that great either though. Arizona definately has all the tools to be a playoff team. They should win their division.

Sparano... I dont know, we showed a real lack of discipline out there in my eyes. We're so damn young though... mistakes are going to happen.

Henne to me looked sharp. Hard throws, accurate. has the ability to at least try and take shots further than 15 yards down field which is something pennington just wont... or maybe can't do.

the OL struggled IMO to get us anything going on the ground... IMO Ronnie got nowhere near enough touches.

I'll say one thing and that is with Pennington Miami doesn't have a chance against NE next week.

What did Sparano do to get people all up in arms?

Answer could probably be nothing knowing how some of our fanbase reacts.

Even when we had good coverage, those big WRs just used their size/bodies to make the catch The DBs simply can't run thru them.

They were that good, and we were that bad.

On the plus side, Henne looked good in garbage time. That said, it was their #1 D and they were playing hard.

I would say at least half the board thinks he should start but I don't think it will happen sadly.

He looked really good out there. I think he gives Miami the best chance to win.

I wouldn't do it against NE in NE, give Penny one more game at least.

Charger game might be a good time to bring in Henne, their defense doesn't scare no one based on what I saw today.

On offense, the offensive line had no push against the quick Cardinals defense. They didn't open up holes again for the second straight week. Henning called some plays that were head-scratchers (i.e. third and short, he pitched it outside). The receivers didn't look good out there other than Bess and Camarillo. They weren't overly impressive but they looked better out of the others. Ginn didn't even get a look or didn't even play for a good amount of time. I think his career in Miami is cloudy. They clearly don't think highly of him at the moment. Henne made some nice throws against Arizona's defense. However, the defense was giving a lot of cushion or at least that's how I remember it. He has nice zip and power on the throw. *I* expect him to be starter by at least mid-season.

On defense, the defensive line didn't pressure the QB other than a couple times. In those couple times, they had penalties which negated the play. They played with a lack of discipline. The Cornerbacks got torched which was expected. Goodman had a dumb pass interference penalty on the goal line which gave Arizona a new set of downs and eventually scored. I thought they played hard though, throughout the game. Some of the coverages that were in place were questionable. On the first TD to Boldin, we had Akin Ayodele matched up with him and he got burnt bad. You don't run a Cover Zero against a team that has those weapons at the WR position. I have no clue what they were thinking. Jason Allen didn't see the field or I didn't see him. His career in Miami is over. Bank on that. Crocker went out with an injury and we saw Renaldo Hill go in his place. Hill didn't do a great job either. Channing Crowder looked bad out there and I said it in the game thread a couple times, he has not developed/progressed his game since he has come into this league. He continues to run downhill and just key in on one player. On a third and 7, Hightower ran right past him because Crowder was zoned in on Warner. That play ended up in a first down.

Special teams was good out there. They got Arizona pinned inside the ten three times I believe. Fields looked good out there. One play that was bad was Torbor hitting the Kicker though. He got pushed into him and then tried to hold him up. Can't say if it was his fault or the blockers. Either way, it cost us.

We shot ourselves in the foot in the second half. We had six penalties opposed to none in the first. On defense, Langford had a sack at the goal line but pulled down Warner's facemask. It wasn't even necessary.

Overall, the team played poorly and looked like a rebuilding team. Arizona's strengths were at our weaknesses and it showed. Its going to be a process and it will need some patience. Hopefully people realize that. I know we love the team but we have to realize that its not a good situation in Miami right now.

we killed ourselves with penalties, sparano is supposed to have this team disciplined...didn't look it today

with henne we actually have somewhat of an offense, with pennington our offense is dull...and it was garbage time but arizona had all their starters in(very good defense) and did not want miami to score. they were still hitting hard and knocking henne down...im not sure i want to throw him into the fire yet though

Miami lost by a wide margin and made dumb penalties.

Major overreaction from some of these fans.

Seriously. I agree 100%. I was disappointed with some of the comments in the game thread but it was expected after last week.

One thing that I forgot to add in my first post was that I thought we should have ran many counters. We ran three counters and they were successful. Arizona's defense is good at pursuing the player. If we run counters, they will over pursue. I questioned if the coaches and players watched film prior to the game. That could have been helpful at least a little.

I think so, and soon. Pennington just isn't getting it done and the offense looks lethargic with him in there.

people seem to forget that this is basically a brand new team... on top of that, we have little talent.
once you put those two things in your train of thought, patience has to come knocking at the door.

They beat us like we stole something.

I did realize two good points.

    1) W. Allen is fast. Not saying he is a good corner, but he is FAST. He was on the ground (like face down) 3 solid feet behind Fitzgerald, he gets up and chases him down.

    2) Henne looked good vs scrubs.

And the penalty yards...we had ZERO during first half (I Think) Second half was just awful ;(

I do think Ronnie should start.

We have arguably the worst Oline and WR's in the NFL.That and, Goodman showed he's not an nfl starter today.I know most of us knew that, but now the people running the dolphins do as well.ewwwww:cry:

    No run D?

Their running backs rushed for less than 80 yards on 28 carries. If anything, stopping the run was the only thing the defense did relatively well.

I'm assuming that you meant no pass defense.

At least I hope that's what you mean.

This is not the preseason. The Cardinals still had their defensive starters in the game when Henne was playing. The only thing I would say is that they were in a prevent defense.

Still, it was clear that Henne had command of the offense and a very strong and accurate arm...

except on that wounded duck to a wide open Ronnie Brown (who should have caught the ball for a touchdown anyway).

Gotcha, although it doesn't take much to just go over to NFL.com and check out the box score.

I see what you're saying, though. He was referring to 2007 (since we couldn't stop the run last year).

No one is giving Arizona credit. They are a very good football team. They can score at will, and defense is all over the place. They look like a contender this season. But still not an excuse to get beat as bad as we did.

I would add that Ronnie looked good w/limited opportunities, and our OL looked horrible.

I didn't think Pennington played that badly, but the difference in downfield passes when Henne came in was noticeable.

Also factor in that Pennington hasnt had a lot of time with this offense, Henne has. Good reason why there was a stark difference between the two.

Thanks for the reply. Good to hear our OTs looked good and I am not shocked that Ndukwe didnt look great, but I am disappointed about Satele.

I had high expectations for him this year. Hopefully not the start of a trend.

Wasn't garbage time. The announcers even said Arizona WAS NOT in the prevent. They did NOT want to give up that TD
