And Ross had that audacity to have the PR department trash him to the media saying he was impossible to work with. This is a glance at the ultra-elite...they play by different rules. Flores knew his career was over by airing this, but man, I have all the respect in the world for him now. He won 5 games with the front office sabotaging him, then he busted out two back to back winning seasons. He absolutely deserves coach of the year now.
Let's also remember the context here - Flores just got fired and almost all the media content swung around to making him sound like a tyrant. Ross himself said it was about relationship break downs, and didn't come to his defense to say that Flores was a decent man and it was just 'creative differences'. It was as close to a character assassination as you get with these things. If it's true, then it's true. But if not? Ross is even worse. Ruin a man's reputation for trying to do a good job, for your team, and showing some characters and backbone when you're being shady? There's no good outcome here. Either Flores is a lying tyrant or Ross is a backstabbing cheat, or I suppose both. But based on everything I've learned about Flores since he was hired, and based on what actual players said, and others who knew him, it feels strongly to me that Flores is telling the truth here. If it's proven then Ross needs to go. If he doesn't go, I'll be done with the Dolphins until he is gone. 100%
Better not strip the team! Strip Ross of the team. If true this is all him, maybe Grier. Why punish the players and the fans?
Screw that.U know. He was told to lose in 2019 for number 1 pick and he went rogue. Do u want those meaningless 5 wins 2 years ago or Joe Burrow?
i don’t think there is any reason to think Flores is lying here. He’s literally just sacrificed his entire coaching career to do this. You don’t do that if you are laying on a bed of lies.
It's so easy to say that- but it's completely different when you're coaching 50+ men and asking them to play their butts off each week. You can't be head coach material in the NFL and be expected to lose. They never should have hired Flores if that was the plan, and now we also know that's why Gase clearly wanted out the door too. It's a complete insult to ask that of anyone. So my answer stays the same- I want those 5 wins over Joe Burrow. That's what's fair for the athletes on that team who are putting in 1,000's of hours a year to be the best that they can be.
I mean I don't hate Flores, but I thought everyone understood 2019 was a restart. Not sure why he though winning games was best for the team after we jettisoned all talent. Small picture thinking there. Plus this is football, backdoor shenanigans trying to recruit players... Doubt we're the only ones trying that stunt. I don't think racism has a place in this world, but Flores coming off like a tattle tale in my eyes on some of these allegations.
his job is to lead those players into battle every week to win. The spirit of competition. Winning versus losing. Winners win. Losers lose. You can’t be a coach in the nfl and willingly lose. It’s not on your nature as a player or coach. Get a ****ing grip. If the takeaway here is him “going rogue” then you’re missing the entire point and sadly I’m not surprised by that.
I'm always against Ross but I'm siding with Ross this time. The man was finally doing shady billionaire stuff to fix the dolphins
And rightfully so! The system is flawed. You don’t take a job as an nfl coach to lead 53 men into the most physical professional sport with the intent on losing. Nobody does that. It’s his responsibility to the men playing for him to win. Not sabotage them and lose because of the loser mentality of our owner and gm. That’s exactly what’s wrong with this franchise and the fact everyone is overlooking what Flores is really aiming to accomplish here is pretty damn sad. This is beyond football
Dude... be careful here. Ross is potentially destroying, or happy to destroy, a man's character and career for his own purposes. I don't know Ross, obviously, so I won't pass final judgement, but let's remember that Ross, as far as I know, has only ever acted for the benefit of his own investment, his own interest. There's no evidence I know of to say he's an especially good man. He's done nothing but what he should do for his own business. Now, maybe he's a spectacularly good man, maybe he's an average man, maybe Flores is a lying tyrant. However, I've seen more evidence Flores is a good and moral man than I have Ross. If Ross is guilty of these things, it's not a joke. It's despicable.
I hate blanket statements like this before the facts are known. As if a few tweets is enough to stake your claim that you’re right and everyone who disagrees is wrong.
What a clown show, Ross has done nothing but embarrass this team since he got here. Stadium looks great and oh cool it’s a racetrack now, but what about the football team?
They got rid of all those players to get the number 1 pick and you know he was told in the interview that was the plan.I would have fired his *** also especially watching the Bengals already in Superbowl! He cost us a star QB so **** that winning culture bull**** when most of those players aren't even on the team anymore
I understand your position, but this isn't war... It's football, it's a game. You have to play with the endgame in mind. Especially since we started that year so poorly. Made no sense to win those games. You can compete and evaluate even if you are losing the game. It's just short-sighted from my point of view. Based on what I've seen in the filed complaint he will win nothing, and has crucified himself for nothing. Shame, because I think he's a good coach.

It's a serious thread and an important issue. Be respectful. Agree to disagree. DO NOT INSULT other members or call names etc. **********************
Based on the reports so far I'm siding with Ross. I want some SB wins, Ross apparently does too, and based on reports he was willing to do what is necessary to get a franchise QB, either through FA or through the draft by tanking. It's a smart strategy. And if Flores was smart enough he'd realize there's long-term benefit to finding that franchise QB too. No I think Ross had the better strategy here. Anyway, we'll see what else comes out, but right now that's what I think.
We would've taken Burrow if we had the #1 pick. Tua is the guy they wanted otherwise, but even this FO wouldn't have messed Burrow up.
It's easy for us fans to say this. But you're talking about people who have had the mindset of "give it your all to win" drilled into since they were teenagers, if not earlier. Plus, I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to take if that increased the possibility of my replacement being drafted.
What did the Dolphins do that was racist? Just because you fire a black coach because he won't do what you want him to do isn't racism. I've fired many people of all colors for not following directions. It's called insubordination. Now there are some iffy things about the "tank or not to tank" and tampering but what does that an $5 have to do with anyone's race? Didn't the Dolphins hire a black coach? Someone connect the dots with the Dolphins and racism. Kinda ironic that Flores ran that WR out to Houston based on their stance about racial injustice and the distraction it caused? I guess it's just racist when it fits your narrative. He must be getting advice from Jesse Smollett. LoL.
I don't know that everything in the lawsuit is connected to race. The Dolphins firing doesn't seem like it would be. There's multiple angles to this that aren't all race related, I don't think. His name was smeared by Ross, allegedly, and then when fired, found out he wasn't being given a fair shake in interviews. So I think the latter is the race-related allegation.
