Whenever I see player endorsements I think of Peyton Manning and Gase.

So again we fail at getting what we were told was the first choice. We even fired our coach earlier than others to get a leg up. But they act like we’re the gold standard and need to have no urgency. If they wanted daball they should have said we want you and when you get an offer from anyone call me!

This team just keeps screwing up. They now are in settle mode what if McDaniel decided to skip us as well?

Maybe it’s because I’ve never gotten into twitter but what is the tear about? He wanted Daboll?

We don't yet know (and likely never will) who they are/were targeting. So whether or not they missed is impossible to say.
Whatever choice they make now it'll be a coach other teams don't seem to have been looking at, so it had better work out. Unless Ross pull Harbaugh out of a hat but I've seen nothing to substantiate that as a real possibility.

Anyone's guess but that would seem to be the case. I think there was an Alabama connection as with Tua and Daboll.

Good. Daboll has been mediocre until he got a stud QB. I'd prefer a 2nd-run Vance Joseph over Daboll. Don't want Vance but at least he's been a HC before.

    Daboll has Matt Patricia vibes.

I don't think I'll be happy with whoever we hire unfortunately.

I still fail to see the big deal about them saying the HC will make the decision but a report also coming out saying they expect Tua will be the QB. Even if the coach does have the say it of course its extremely likely Tua would stay.

It's an issue because at that point Ross and Grier have no idea who the HC will be, nor what requirements he might have, or how the dynamics might work. You don't make that sort of declaration if you don't have to. There's absolutely no gain to saying this in a press conference, but potential for damage if you do.

It wasn't that. It was stating the future HC gets to pick the QB.
Then later talk that Tua is their guy.

Right to me this is a complete failure if he doesn't get Harbaugh now. They pissed around and let these coaches go. They will say whoever they get was their choice of course but I don't believe anything from them now. Poorly run team with no real direction tarnishing the Dolphins Legacy each year. He's a Jets fan so Im going to say he's doing all this on purpose to bring us to a bottom dweller.

Everyone still think Brian Flores being fired was a good idea? Still think the Dolphins will land a top coach out of all this? Stephen Ross and Chris Grier are the NFL's biggest joke. We're going nowhere with these clowns in charge. Our first choice has turned us down. Dan Quinn has turned us down. Nobody else is worth mentioning because this was a doomed search from the start when you keep your lame duck GM with your lame duck owner.

This ship is sinking faster than the Titantic that's for sure. Thanks Stephen Ross for your almighty wisdom and leadership!

For the record... Daboll and Quinn aren't really worth the while either; but damn; this is bad. Sounds like our coaching searches from the last how many years now? Unreal. Whoever we hire is just another lame duck coach destined to fail until we blow it up again and blow that opportunity too on Stephen Ross' inability to be the leader an NFL team needs.

Ross the new coach will make the call on Watson which is essentially the same thing the Ian Rapoport story said in regards to Tua.

Nope. Ross said that the Watson question had no part in the decision on firing Flores, and then said Tua is the QB right now but the new HC would decide that going forward:

"Q: I'd like to ask you what role if any, the quarterback position played in this decision? Was there a question over whether Tua is your man for the future? How much does Deshaun Watson play into it? And was there disagreement over which direction you should go at quarterback?

“First of all, let me be clear, it played no role in it at all. I have a lot of confidence in Tua and I think the next head coach will work with him or whoever else. But I have a lot of confidence in him. I watched him grow. He's a fine young man, and he is right now our quarterback and that will be dependent upon the new head coach but I have a lot of confidence in Tua."

McDaniel to the raiders says my cousin who's a raiders fan. Not sure if that's official or legit.

If true though; lets all bask in the glory of being the new laughing stock of the nfl. Thanks Grier. Thanks Ross.

Highly doubt Ross is making considerations on his next coach based off Tua, the least talented player on his roster

Maybe not, but that's what he's said, he believes in Tua. If reports are to be believed then Ross and Grier are hoping to find someone who also believes in Tua.

They're reading it differently because there were a couple of unattributed tweets that suggested that the Dolphins were "all in" for Tua now that Flo is gone. People read these tweets from unknown sources and rumor becomes gospel truth.

I was actually thinking about this quote earlier today and thinking to myself how reporters set themselves up to fsil when they ask multilayered questions. If the person doesn't want to adress the question they just pick a piece of it and answer that instead. He just talked about how much he liked Tua and not anything about if Watson played a part in it. A smart business man will answer the questions he wants in a very specific way.

To be honest. Even if they asked all those questions 1 at a time...Ross would never answer it honestly so my point is null anyway, but what im saying is Ross didn't even habe a chance to tap dance it because he just sidestepped it right out the gate.

That man always sounds like he has no idea what is going on yet he is a billionaire tycoon. I think it's all an act to never answer a question honestly...but then again he really could be clueless.

We stopped being the gold standard/ideal job ever since Huizhenga sold the team to Ross.

Coaches around the NFL loved interviewing with Huizhenga, and he was able to hire Jimmy away from retirement, Dave was considered one of the top nfl coordinators in the league, Saban was lured in by Huizhenga as well.. parcells was also hired by him.

Granted it didnt come with much success, but we always got the first pick before Ross, when Huizhenga said he would invest or do anything for the success of the Dolphins, he meant it.

Our image and standards have dropped a lot with Ross.

I really don't like that were going after another OC or DC candidate. While these people sometime excel at those positions being the Headcoach is a much more complex operation. Its a major learning curve and almost no one steps in and is immediately successful. Year one we may be .500 and year two maybe 10-7 - 11-6 depending on the schedule and than what year 3 of we step back is he fired?

I want a solid believer in Flores at first but I can not say he got the best out of what talent he had on both sides of the ball.
Grier handcuffed him and wanted him to fail so he could get the power chair. Now he has it and wants to hire a puppet for his coach and ride out another 4-5 years stealing money.

Hes making football moves that should absolutely be done with a head coach. We have zero idea what this new coach wants the team to be its identity and having Grier make moves like he's designing the team is a horrible recipe for failure and no respecting head coach would accept that gig. So were looking for magic unicorns in a pile of ****.

Dave Hyde says some people around the league think the reason this search is taking so long is because Ross is quietly negotiating with Jim Harbaugh.

So now the Vikings are reportedly interviewing Harbaugh. If its a given he wants back in the NFL WTF are we doing?
Unless something is really going on behind closed doors but I'll believe it when I see it.
