I like the decisions, better to go the locker room without throwing a pick something else catastrophic. Regroup, scrap the game plan and begin doing whatever exactly the Dolphins do well regardless of the defensive look

 

Is Ted Ginn Jr going to play to day or is he planning on being nice and asking the cardnials backfield to prom.

Somebody tell the Dolphins that it already started...I think they stayed in their hotel rooms.

 

What a tough first half to watch. After seeing the team so competitive against the Jets last week, it's been a challenge to watch this team make mistakes. Warner, Boldin, and Fitzgerald have made our defense look like it's straight out of Pop Warner. We haven't been able to do anything of note on offense, and our front seven have only managed to pressure Warner a couple of times. Factor in that Ginn has been a complete non-factor, and it's easy to see why we are losing 17-0.

 

Everyone here is doing that. I think whoever wasn't a real fan would have left a few years ago.

I agree. Its just frustrating sometimes.

I just hope this organization doesn't become like a Lions, Browns, or Bengals team.

in other news... matt ryan has come back to earth, been sacked a few times, he's currently 3 of 15 for 36 yards with two INT's

 

I have been think of that to I really hope that does not happen

 

Thoughts on the first half.

Positives:

No penalties - The Dolphins don't have any penalties thus far and that's a big improvement.

Special Teams - We have pinned the Cardinals inside their own ten 3 times already. Fields is doing a nice job out there.

Ronnie Brown - He has looked good out there. He's looking for contact and is trying to make plays. Its good to see him out there again.

Negatives:

The Trenches - The offensive and defensive linemen aren't doing a good job. The defensive line isn't getting any push on the Cardinals offensive line and is not stopping the run. They are overpursuing at times and we will likely see more counters in the second half by the Cardinals because of this. The offensive line is simply not getting any push and is not opening up holes against the Cardinals defensive line.

Pennington - Pennington is making throws in double coverage. He has been doing this since 2005, when he first got his rotator cuff surgery.

Receivers - Once again, no separation by the receivers. The Cardinals secondary seems like it took a page out of Lester Hayes book and used stick 'em to control our receivers.

The Secondary - The secondary is getting torched often. There wasn't high expectations of them coming into the game against the all-pro receivers of the Cardinals but it almost looks easy for the Cardinals. I think its a little bit of how good the receivers are and how bad our DB's are.

Channing Crowder - The rest of the LBing core isn't doing well either but I'm singling him out. As I mentioned earlier, he has not developed his game since he has come into this league. He still runs downhill, without looking at anything but the Quarterback. He blew right past Tim Hightower on the 3rd and 7 first down run.

Looking to the second half:

Offense - We have to get some type of rhythm going. Put up a touchdown to get the confidence up. If you can't put up a touchdown, at least string some passes together and some runs to give the players a little bit of confidence against the Cardinals defensive line. Run counters because the Cardinals will over-pursue.

Defense - Try to be more physical with the receivers of the Cardinals. Play with your head up and get to the QB.

 

Either that or your crazy like me and think that any minute now Dan Marino will come through that tunnel and save the day ala ACE VENTURA part 1.

I think it's pretty obvious that this team is pathetic.

For those looking for future improvement, it's because of terrible play calling and defensive play calling that we're down THIS badly. There's very little to look forward to.

Henne will likely be about as good as Pennington
Merling probably another Holliday

Sure they're young and may improve in other areas but they're young and have terrible talent.

 

We need a couple PI calls against Bold/Fitz, similar to a high and inside fastball to a batter. A message needs to be sent to change the attitude of this team.

False. They do matter when its a rebuilding team. Look to the positives, its not going to help you if your clownin' on your team every play.

 

henne WILL be better than pennington. he's intelligent, has a MUCH stronger arm, is just as accurate, and he's a big, strong tough guy.

play calling isnt going to help much. we simply dont have enough talented players on offense that are capable of executing the plays called properly.
