Tus doesn't have the football IQ that Brees had, and his arm is not as strong either. I think he can be a good QB in the league, but I doubt he will reach elite level.

If this happens this team is lost and I am done with them till ROSS sells the team. I mean we have so many issues and if ROSS is overriding The GM and coach and is forcing this move its over. Oh lets also not forget this.

Watson still faces 22 civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault and misconduct, and police and NFL investigations are ongoing. The NFL, to this point, has not had a decision to make about whether to place Watson on the Commissioner’s Exempt List.

As if we dont have enough distractions, we would have to give up a TON to get him, hes has a bad attitude, is a bad person, and hasn’t carried anyone anywhere. TUA is young a Perfect person and has a huge upside.

This is such a DOLPHINS move if this happens disaster all over it.

I feel like people just looked at watsons stats and think that those stats will fix the dolphins lol. Is no one realizing that we have already seen what watson on a terrible team looks like. They won no games last year. It was beyond clear he needed an oline that they traded for tunsil. People are literally asking to put him in the same situation he was in with the texans. Dude got his ribs broken behind a bad oline just like tua. It all blows my mind.

  7. Watson to Miami was always inevitable once basically EVERYONE with any football sense saw that Tuba was just another guy who lacked the arm and the body to excel in the NFL. Now whether the three clowns (Ross, grier, Flores) are going to correctly solve their poor evaluation of Tua (and numerous other picks) remains to be seen. Chances are not good that they get this right. Chances are many Fin fans will even become more apathetic than they already are with the flasher coming to town. it has been a dumpster fire for years, will continue to be so for many more...enjoy the clown car, this is your reality. Dumb men making decisions looks exactly like this.

Grier has NOTHING to lose by trading for Watson, no matter the cost. He has to grasp at straws to save his job, but won't have to deal with the mess if it doesn't work out. To a lesser degree, Flores also needs a move to buy himself time beyond this season.

Desperation moves rarely turn out well, so things could get much worse before they get better. If they get better.

All this shows is that they know they made a mistake drafting tua. Now they are going to make a move out of desperation, which probably won't work out. Grier and Flores need to be fired yesterday.

I have literally never seen these message boards unified in one stance. If that doesn't show how much of a colossal mistake this would be... I don't know what does.

I can't imagine Flores has anything to do with this. He seems like such a high character guy. This smells of Ross and Grier to me personally.

I doubt that Flores is uninterested. The reports are that he was never high on Tua, so why wouldn't he be OK with moving on? As for character, he's from New England, which masquerades as high character while really being all about winning and letting Brady cover for any characters on the team. I have little doubt that Flores would be fine with a "low character" player as long as they bring it on the field and aren't distracting to other teammates or being a cancer.

Knowing the dolphins they’ll somehow work this as a trade and give Texas Tua and we take Watson And in two years Tua is blowing up the NFL and Watson has completely regressed / banned from the NFL. never fails we have no patience and we never build around our players properly

I just can’t root for a bad guy Much less make him in the face of the franchise

That's just my feeling on the matter. He is pretty much the only one to come out and say "he is our QB". Maybe he is just a mouthpiece, I don't know.

The Redskins and Broncos are denying they have talked to phins about Tua.
Starting to sound like the Texans are feeding the Houston reporters false info.

I don't know that it's 100% closed- but it doesn't sound like Miami is close AT ALL to making this trade. People are blaming the Texans here but I really think it's just modern journalism- Watson's name gets clicks so the media speculates way more than they should.

It's all our owners fault. Either he clearly wants watson or hes letting people drag his name through the mud. I dunno how he doesnt release a statement if there was no truth to this story. No way you can let a 1-5 regime even consider this trade with all the current legal baggage watson has. Add that to the fact ross isnt saying jack i dunno its somewhat telling imo. I think trading for him is ridiculous but i think Ross not releasing a statement if it was false is even crazier. Then again if anyone went to the shula memorial then you would of saw ross struggling to even read 2 words at a time from his written statement. Its possible hes mentally gone maybe i dunno. It seems like he used to talk a lot more often and now you never hear from him.

  22. Anyone that doesn't think this story has legs is a functional midwit at this point. The Dolphins would pull the trigger yesterday if terms can be reached. Whether that happens, only time will tell. But pretty much everything the Dolphins have done (and really what they haven't done) shows that they are desperate to move from the unathletic, pea-shooter QB they drafted. You might not like that fact, and that might challenge your belief in yourself as a budding NFL talent scout....but this deal will (and is) being pursued vigorously by the Fins front office - which has lost any faith that the current impoverished-Wonderlic QB is anything more than a place holder until a betetr option is found.

It's hard not to give credence to these rumors when you believe that Grier and company are desperate enough to do a Watson trade if it means holding onto their jobs for another year or two.

Been a Dolphins fan my whole life. Lately, my interest in the NFL has waned. If we traded fro Deshaun Watson that might be the final nail in the coffin.

The entirety of that discussion seems be centered around Tua being at fault for them being bad (as well has he was bad vs Jags) and its Ross is at fault for them not having Herbert. Simms is supposed to be some genius that some people here think should be a GM and he glosses over the other terrible picks they made.

Tua being the scapegoat is how Grier can save his job so that is good news for him.

And what would happen with those picks if they don't vanish for an elite QB talent? More first round busts likely. The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. Get it done!

Yeah, they lost me there as well. They are assuming Tua was entirely Ross's decision, and ignoring the other 1st round busts we drafted. Did Ross also pick Jackson and Igbinogenhe?

Simms is generally very good with his player evals, but this take is off base.

I do feel if we had Watson this year and if he was allowed to play we would be 4-2.
The problem is from what I understand if Watsons case becomes a federal case this will drag on until late 2022 and will not be able to play the entire season and possibly for some of 2023 if he gets off.
If its only a civil suit then he will probally suspended for 6 games in the 2022 season.
The gamble is nobody and I mean nobody knows how this will play out.

I think you're off by a couple of years there- the court systems are still at a crawl due to COVID. I have a relative that got arrested in March of 2018 on a pot possession charge in Florida and they're still doing pre-trial stuff. If you're not taking a plea, you're not seeing a jury trial anytime soon.

With Watson, this could drag out for 3-5 more years easily if there's criminal charges involved.

Simms was spot on. We're talking about signing a QB. In regards to the Phins, of course he is going to mainly focus on Tua. The rumors are about signing a QB and well, Tua is our QB.

I don't think this legal situatuon is going to drag out for 5 years. These are super high end, high priced attorney's. One way or the other, they will get this resolved sooner. Hell, OJ's trial spanned 11 months. I understand there is time leading up to a trial if even gets that far which I doubt it will. They wouldn't even be flirting with the idea if they thought there was any chance it would take 5 years to get this resolved.

I have my doubts this will happen, but I am seriously hoping it does.

Talking about Tua is fine. Talking about Tua in regards to them making a mistake in not getting Herbert is fine. But talking about Tua as if he is the only problem is not. If you are going to talk about this situation for 20 minutes they should probably be able to get a little more in depth then Tua=bad Watson=good.

And again Simms said Grier and Flores have done a lot of good things so no he wasn't spot on.
