Yeah, I got tired of watching Channing Crowder. He was an exciting prospect in his rookie year, but ever since, it looks like he just isn't doing enough to be a starter in this league. He is looking like a backup linebacker.
[MERGED] House Cleaning has started.. Randy is going Cam and others might be next. Randy thats plain SAD....Let the good times roll.. Im more excited for this offseason than that wreck of a season! Read the entire artice I did not want to post it all, but seems from the article that Bill does not like Cam this one quote speaks it all. http://www.miamiherald.com/1190/story/362149.html
Its obvious from reading the Miami Herald this morning, that more than ever I am convinced Camron will given his walking papers sooner, rather than later.
Mueller Has Been Fired The changes have begun. Dolphins general manager Randy Mueller was fired Monday morning by Bill Parcells, the new vice president of football operations. The anticipated move paves the way for Parcells to hire his own man to fill the vacancy. http://www.miamiherald.com/616/story/362372.html
I think Cam will be gone tomorrow and some of the other coaches too....clean house Tuna. Ozzy rules!!
Hey I wasnt a big fan of Mueller when we hired him but I'll tip my hat off to him. At least he got us a great draft this year. Thanks for Ginn, Booker, Satele, Mauia and whoever else steps up next year
Mueller wasn't the only one fired today. Two of Mueller's assistants were also fired according to the Miami Herald. Coolege Scouting Coordinator Rick Thompson and Asst. Director of Player Personnel Mike Baugh were also fired today. They both worked under Mueller.
Let the good times Roll, baby! This is exactly what we have needed since Saban got here and that is to clean house. It a Great Day to be a Dolphin knowing someone who knows football is running the ship now. Goodbye Scam Cameron..... Clean House Big Tuna, clean house.
Cam just finished his press conference and Parcells didn't interrupt it to fire him. I'm disappointed.
Would that really be a bad thing? Despite his flaws, and poor coaching choices at times, it would be an advantage to keep the same offensive system for 08. With a new coach and new system, it means a team that will struggle (at least the first half of the season) as players try to understand the new play calls, etc. Couldn't Parcells help Cam to be a better coach? Get him an OC, so he can concentrate on being a head coach, not calling every play? What about Beck? Think he would benefit from adding to what he knows in the Cam offense versus starting over? Now, I won't be shocked if Cam is fired, but I do see the upside of keeping him around. A lot depends on if Cam is willing to learn himself and correct his own mistakes.
You would think the new GM would bring in his own coach??? I think Cam has to go, but if Bill thinks he is the man to guide the team, than that's his call. I just haven't seen any playcalling from Cam to really excite me.
The only thing worse than giving up too soon is holding on too long. If Cam, who had head coaching experience before, isn't the right guy, what makes keeping him around for another year any better? If the guy just doesn't have it, the players are going to have to change systems eventually. Why not do it sooner rather than later? Continuity is not more important than good coaching.
BIngo. couldnt have said it better, especially when he hasnt shown he knows how to coach throughout the whole year? why prolong the agony?
Excellent post, man! Agree with the potential upside to retaining Cam. No matter what, I see an OC coming in to make the calls. I, too, won't be shocked if Cam is gone, but there is an upside to both possibilities.
I understand your point, but just as we expect rookies to develop? You can expect an NFL level rookie coach to learn from his first year in the league. Especially if he can draw on the experience of a guy like Parcells. If Cam indicates to Bill he doesn't want to learn, or change some of his ways -then show him the door! Just understand there is a downside to getting rid of a coach that NEVER seemed to lose the team in a horrible season, and having EVERY player learn a new offensive system means losing some games in 08 that could have been won -if the players were more comfortable in the offense.
I think you are either a leader of men or you are not. Between his poor stint at Indiana and coaching the WORST season in Dolphins history, I think it is clear the man just doesn't have it. If he didn't learn it from Bob Knight, or Marty Schottenheimer, he isn't going to learn it from Bill. Rookies are fresh out of college, young, and need to adjust to the pro game. But you still look to find improvement from game 1 to 16. Cam was still making the same mistakes, while fielding an uninspired team.
Quote: Parcells apparently told Huizenga he has heard stories about Cameron spending some of his time monitoring the team's website to make sure the players are being asked the right questions by club-employed reporters. Cameron also wanted to make sure the players were giving the right answers. Parcells told Huizenga he doesn't want a coach that is worried about blogs or website interviews. He wants a tough-minded, hard-driven football man who is more concerned with football than facade. Maybe it was Cam who sabatoged the Finheaven website because he didn't like what we were saying about him?
How can anyone say Mueller had a great draft now that he's been fired??? Sorry but a "great draft" should enhance your job security shouldn't it??? Parcells knows he blew it! It could have been a franchise changing draft and it turned out to be just ok. That is one of the main reason he was fired IMO. Think about it!
Parcels was hired to make these type decissions and I trust his judgement on weather or not Cam is our guy or not. His debute as a nfl head coach has been unimpressive to say the least but that dosnt mean he cant grow into the postion and maybe become a hof coach. What I find troubling is the lack of improvment throughout the season and my amature oppinion says he is going to be unemployed as soon as Bill secures whoever he has in mind for the job. Cam did a few good things here but I dont think he had an impressive showing. Some of his decissions set this team back a few steps as well.
I can definately understand this website story of cam. If you remember last year on Miami dolphins.com there were a lot more player interviews than this year. It seemed like everytime I clicked on the site it was Cams last 4 PC's which was torture because he has absolutley no personality. At least Saban knew how to tell a funny hillbilly story from time to time and kept some of us entertained. Bye cam and your Webmaster controlling ways!!!!
I wholeheartedly agree. I am judging purely from a fan standpoint. I'm not Parcells. He is a HOF coach who has the ability to talk to anyone within the organization. If he decides that Cam has this team headed in the right direction I'll have to defer to him. But the view from here isn't pretty for Cam. The fact that Mueller was fired so quickly and Cam is still being evaluated makes me nervous.
I don't think it was so much of his draft picks this year as it was the quality people that he let go and traded...
