key part of the title "so far" i remember he had a lot of hype coming into the draft and i haven't heard much about him. i do not watch lots of raider games..so is he considered a bust so far?
I've never heard anything about Michael Huff busting. Haven't heard anything bad about him, to be honest. Oakland brought in Gibril Wilson this offseason, but he's playing the other safety spot; Michael Huff is still starting. If the Broncos game is any indication, DeAngelo Hall is the weak link in that secondary.
Wilson got burnt on Monday quite a bit. Hall was burnt as well, but I'm not so sure why he was playing so far off. they had both CBs playing very far back. I have to believe the coaching is the reason for their Secondary mess. They have some good personnel. And hall gambles, and is not a super top CB, but he's not that bad.
I don't think Huff is a bust but he hasn't lived up to his expectations imo. Huff has had a lot of tackles so far in his career because the Raiders run defense is bad. He is often tackling the RB at the second level which is not good. The reason he hasn't lived up to his expectations (imo) is because he hasn't created much turnovers in the secondary for them. He has one career pick. I thought he would be a very good player coming out, a guy who can create turnovers and get the ball back to his offense. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. Even though he hasn't been the star I expected him to be, I think he's a solid/good player.
Huff certainly hasn't been the player Oakland expected. Bust might be too strong a word, but he's not been great by any stretch. There were some pretty firm rumours that Oakland would deal him earlier in the offseason. C+ is about the grade thus far.
