Parker? Seriously? Let me guess, he dropped his sippy cup during nap time and it hurt his little piggy that goes to market.

God damn Parker I know we are still far from real playing time but this guy is made of glass and it’s not getting better.

I’m leaning more and more toward trading him ASAP he’s going to miss like 5 games this year isn’t he??

Welcome to the wonderful world of DeVante Parker.

He will miss like 4 games.
    Disappear for like 4 games.
Look like a top 5 WR for about 4 games.
Look average for about 4 games.

We get an extra game this season, so who knows which Parker we get for that bonus game.

Apparently, fully vaccinated players don't need to go on the Covid list unless they test positive. That clearly tells us something.

    Thanks.

Then either Gesicki is symptomatic or the Dolphins are going above and beyond.

Mike Gesicki, Daron Payne latest big names sidelined as NFL's COVID-19 problem grows (profootballnetwork.com)

"Meanwhile in Miami, Dolphins co-offensive coordinator George Godsey has reportedly tested positive. As a result, three tight ends — including star Mike Gesicki — have been sidelined, at least temporarily, by league protocols.

The Dolphins put Gesicki, Adam Shaheen, and Cethan Carter — who all play the position Godsey coaches in addition to running the offense — on the list. However, it’s unclear if all or any have had a positive test result.

Players placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list either have tested positive for coronavirus or are unvaccinated and have had close contact with someone who has. The team goes to great lengths to protect the medical privacy of players and coaches. Shaheen, however, has been very open about his vaccine skepticism.

The bio on Shaheen’s Twitter account reads “I will not comply,” his location is set as “Somewhere without a mask,” and he’s retweeted a number of anti-vaxx messages, including a statement by Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley.

Gesicki, meanwhile, spoke to reporters maskless this week. Based on league protocols, this suggests that he has been vaccinated.

Healthy after a significant late-season shoulder injury, Gesicki ranks 10th on Pro Football Network’s list of tight ends entering the 2021 season. He set career highs in catches (53), receiving yards (703), and touchdowns (6) last year.

But for now, the Dolphins’ COVID-19 issues pale in comparison to those of WFT."

Well again, it seems pretty clear where we stand with Gesicki. Hopefully everyone is ok, but this could be a pain all year.

Well, if we have to lose someone as an asymptomatic close contact (hoping that's a it is), it might as well be the guy who can't get on the field anyways.

That's the tough part- we have no way of knowing why he's on that list. But as you said, if he's going to be out anyway, training camp is the right time to be on the COVID list. I can't help but wonder though if it's hurting his chances on making the team with all the WR's we have in the building.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Williams starts the season on PUP. Then someone else makes the 53, and they reevaluate mid season.

Eventually you are going to get the virus or the jab. With the jab, it looks like for most a 5 day sit. Even with Delta, if they get it now it's almost better since they should have antibodies to this variation and the likelihood that later in the season they have an outbreak is low. Get it now and out of the way as long as it doesn't trigger on one of them. Its Russian Rotulet with the virus. The unvax'd like Gesicki are spinning the gun chamber. Glad it didn't land on a bullet for him.

Its so different for everyone- you have to remember that unvaccinated people are still playing on last year's timetables. Positive tests can be for days, weeks or sometimes even months...and severe illness is possible. I'm not trying to re-start that earlier conversation other than to say vaccinated and unvaccinated can react very differently to the virus.

Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post reports that wide receiver Preston Williams and linebacker Elandon Roberts are both coming off of the physically unable to perform list. They were the only two players on the list in Miami.

Williams missed the second half of last season with a foot injury and also had a stint on the COVID-19 list since training camp opened. He tore his ACL during the 2019 season, so better health would be a welcome development for the wideout.

Roberts hurt his knee late in the 2020 season. He re-signed with the Dolphins in March.

He's had two freak injuries in two years so far. Poor guy is a little cursed. We'll see how those hold up. At least we shouldn't have to worry about the team stupidly putting him in on punt returns, but we'll see if Wilkins has been caged a little bit this year.

Darn, this is really getting complicated in the WR room. Does that mean we could possibly not even see Fuller take a snap as a Dolphin until week 3?!? I know a lot of folks here are high on him from prior work, but I'd really like to at least see how he gels with Tua and where he fits this roster.

If I had to guess, day one starters are-

    - Waddle
    - Parker
    - Wilson
    - Hollins

That's a good skill group w/ Hollins really showing out this pre-season. But Parker & Wilson make me nervous since they don't have a healthy track record. At least the door is still open for Preston Williams to get back with the one's.
