Surely we can't afford him without cutting someone, can we?

Doubt he will be that expensive.
ACL, MCL, hip and Achilles’ tendon injuries. Major injury issues.

But McCain and Rowe are expensive and safety depth is not an issue at all. So this looks bad for one of them.

I feel like this franchise is petrified ever since picking Dante Culpepper over Drew Brees based on a concern for injury and now they go and sign every injured player they can to ensure that they never have a repeat of that debacle

Ideally you're going to be like 4 deep at safety, with all the different mix and match combinations you're going to run. Hooker gets you to five deep, which I'd imagine is going to mean given the McCain/Rowe cap hits and their expressed desire to same some of those costs means one of them will be gone sooner rather than later.

I think that's been true for a little while now. You're under $10m in cap space and that's what you need for your rookie class, or at least what was projected.

If I had to guess it would be Rowe. Reason being Flores seems to like McCain calling the plays on the field. If Hooker can stay healthy it would be a great pickup. I'm sure the Dolphins are trying to get him on a 1 year prove it deal if they actually try to sign him but I'm sure he is going to want a longer term deal.

Well I guess I was 180 degrees wrong on that. Appears to be McCain on the outside looking in. Probably won't be till June 1st though.

With the release of McCain we now can afford a Hooker?
