    Highlights;

    https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.si.com/nfl/draft/.amp/scouting-reports/gerriddoaks

“He has some absurd contact balance and power, rarely ever getting stalled at the initial point of contact. Playing with good toughness and balance, Doaks churns out a ton of extra yardage after contact”

“Doaks’ combination of power, contact balance, receiving ability and toughness could make him a candidate to be this year's James Robinson”

We finally got our running back. Big powerful runner! Never fumbled.
if you watch that highlight pack, he has really soft hands in the recieving game and Gets the ball upfield fast after the catch!
Could be a nice compliment to Gaskin.

From what I read, it wasn't obvious that he'd be drafted, although a common comment from scouts was, "He deserves a chance somewhere." Definite project back that doesn't have great vision, but he'll flat out run someone over and rarely goes down after the first hit. Okay blocker but shows enough for folks to see potential at the next level.

Not sure if he makes the team but I'll be rooting for him- I love a violent running back!

OK....I know he's a late round pick. I know he may not possibly make the team. But.....I really really like this kid. He's going to get a shot here in Miami.

Luckily for him, our RB room is entirely made up of late round draft picks and un-drafted free agents.

    Slightly left of center
    Doak Walker...Gerald Doaks...

He's got a nice looking highlight real, good size, didn't really see a power runner as much as a quick elusive one, not a bad thing. He showed some serious burst.

I was actually more impressed by a couple of the IOL in that highlight real. 66 at C and 56 at RG and C. 77 too but 56 they should be talking to if he's not signed yet.

Really nice pick up for a 7th rounder, like the size and hands.

These 7th round picks are a 1/1000 chance of hitting but like the size and the fact that he hasnt fumbled. Hope he can find a way to stay on the team.

Good record lately in the 7th.
    Last 4 have all made the team and been used some;
    Isiah Ford
    Jason Sanders
    Myles Gaskin
    Malcolm Perry
I would say 2 of them have Been definite hits. (I know Sanders is just a kicker, but the dude may be THE best kicker)

I don’t think this brass worries much about draft status/contracts value ect.
If you’re in camp, you can win a job.
Look at Flowers big contract getting dumped bc 4th rounder Kindley.
Or 1st rder Noah I losing his job to undrafted Needham.
Or 4M RB Howard basically never getting used from the jump

I’d give Doaks a decent chance of winning some kind of a role.

Coming from a small school he was likely overlooked by alot of the scouts that focus on the blue chip schools. I hope we lucked out.

His pass blocking is what is probably going to be what allows him to make the team

Zero drops, zero fumbles, blocks well AND Grier points out he plays special teams.

Coaches type player. And the special teams aspect gives him a leg up on Ahmed.

I could be way off base on this, but I feel like the value of running backs isn't what it used to be. It seems as though you can now find a good back in the later rounds whereas in the past, if you hit on a fifth round pick at the position, it was like finding gold. Not so much anymore. I'm not saying he's going to start or even make the team, but I think his draft status isn't as relevant as it would have been say 10-15 years ago. James Robinson comes to mind just from last year alone. Our own Myles Gaskin was a late pick. I could name many more, but I'm not trying to drive a point home, I'm just saying that it wont be a shock for him to make the team and contribute. I think for backs nowadays, it's all about getting an opportunity and with how often injuries occur to that specific position, it's only a matter of time before a player like Doaks gets a crack at showing what he can do. So while the position itself is de-valued these days, I still think it was a great pick and I think he'll make the team.

He looks like an outside zone RB. Cuts well into narrow holes. Plays like a poor man's DeVonta Freeman.

I like his size, I like his ability to catch out of the backfield, I also like that he seems to be a good fit in pass pro as a RB, but that's about it. As a RB, I don't see much value here because he looks slow and sluggish to me. I don't see a guy who hits the hole quick, hard and decisive. He just feels slow if you know what I mean by that. It's kind of like watching the version of Jordan Howard we got. I think his blocking ability may help him make the team this year as a special teams player, but also wouldn't be surprised if he ends up cut or on the PS. I just watch his highlights against what I believe i likely pretty mediocre competition as well and yeah he has some success, but nothing really just stands out to me. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I think this staff has been pretty good at getting the best out of guys and that could help Doaks here.

Personally I liked two late guys better...Kene Nwangwu and Eli Mitchell....but I also liked Doaks. Eli Mitchell to me was always going to be a take after the 4th and he was always around the 6th...great pick for 49ers IMHO. All those guys have some size to them Eli Mitchell is 200 or so but packed into 5-9/5-10 and has the same sort of contact balance that Doaks has with far better speed and quickness...Nwangyu got hurt and then sat behind some talent so he has limited wear on his tires but he does not have the contact balance of Doaks and Mitchell......I like all these guys, the question about Doaks is his short area speed. He ran 4.58 but he takes a while to get going and that shows on his tape as he is not decisive enough into the hole...but that may be a function of how Cincy pulls their tackles inside and their interior guys to the corner (they love those lead in runs), so we will see if that is scheme or who he is....if he gets more decisive to the hole he is going to get a ton of yards after contact as he is big strong and has good contact balance....question is how many times is he going to get stuffed since he is slow to the hole.?????

Doaks overall Relative Athletic Score (RAS) is better than Javonte Williams.

Doaks Burst score was through the roof. (127.2 = 87th percentile)

Doaks speed score was well above average. (99.2 = 62nd percentile)

Doaks 40 time is identical to Javonte.

He doesn’t have breakaway speed. But calling him slow is probably a mis-characterization.

His problem athletically appears to be agility.
