Starting to come around on our draft a little, even though I still don't really like what we did in round 1.

Ok everyone...what is your preference for today? What position would you like to see us target? Maybe even who? Ive run out of names i recognize at this point lol.

Whats would you like them to do or what do you think they'll do?

Pretty sure they will prioritize taking "football players" if that makes sense. What I mean by that is them leaning more towards guys that put the team first, are willing to line up anywhere on the field, are natural leaders, willing to commit to a system and approach. We saw last year where we took guys like Malcolm Perry for instance and Myles Gaskin the year before. They are football players before they are anything else.
In terms of what I hope we do, I am always a BPA kind of guy, but I'd like to see us draft a running back late, I'd like to see another defensive player selected, and there's a small part of me that wants us to take a shot at another quarterback just in case this situation with Tua falters. Another O lineman wouldn't hurt either.

This is where I’m at. Apparently Long is the best all around TE in the draft(receiving and blocking). Holland might be a liability in run defense but supposedly is a beast in coverage. I’m tired of seeing TE’s shred our defense. Eichenberg was a great pick.

We could add an RB, depth at Linebacker or Center and guys who profile as special teamers.

I like linebackers Justin Hilliard Ohio State or Dylan Moses Bama... both still available.
I like Jermar Jefferson RB out of Oregon State too. Gainwell is still there.

Forgetting needs. Interesting Trey Smith, Stone Forsyth and Shake Toney still available.

Daviyon Nixon is falling. I watched him in college, great kid, good work ethic, sneaky athletic for a DT. I wonder if we couldn’t play him at DE

OK as 6 winds down there are still a few guys who really do make sense and have some functional upside......Tommy Kraemer makes perfect sense and is another Notre Dame Lineman....Eli Mitchell has high upside at RB, Chris Evans and Jake Funk have some ability, Bryan Mills is a long corner like they like but is small school guy which they don't, Roy Lopez has that DLineman look and is a great locker room guy, at WR Dillon Stoner is worth a look after his solid Pro Day, Dylan Moses and Riley Cole are both worth a look as LB's and should play solid ST's....Tederrll Slaton if you can convince him to convert to guard is a huge upside guy.....but at DL is ehhhhh....

Some interesting RBs left that produced big last year.
    Khalil Herbert
    Jermar Jefferson
    Jarrett Patterson

A couple gadgety ones like Pooka Williams, Kylin HIll and Javian Hawkins left too.

I take a flyer on Dylan Moses despite the ACL clean up.......and Tommy Kraemer is just a good football player......Eli Mitchell went but his backfield mate Trey Ragas has some gimmicky upside also. Good call on Kylin Hill....

The Lolphins picked backwards. Apparently Grier can only think up to plan B at most. Myself... I had a plan A, B, C, D, E, and F plan for the #6 pick. I wasn't playing around.

Jaylen Waddle wasn't even on my radar... for good reason I believe.

Gimme Sewell, Smith, Parsons, trade back down (or never trade back up to 6 in the first place would have been preferable.) But even though we were stuck at 6, to me we got double whammied by Grier's nonsensical 1st round scouting. Our Edge rush guy with the 18 was good but that was an eaaasy decision for a BPA pick. When Grier is in the top 6 which is so rare he flops BAAAAAAD.. FIRE THIS GUY... IDGAF if the rest of the draft picks turn out pretty good, that doesn't save him from losing out on Justin Herbert and one of the aforementioned many other options that would have been better than Jaylen Waddle.

Sorry but I am really mad about this pick and it's compounded by losing out on the Duck we didn't shoot for Justin Herbert killin it out there for the Chargers.. And we got Tua who gets carried by a journeyman QB(used to) Damn I'd be a lot more confident if the Dolphins top picks ever made sense. But since they don't we're probably destined to be be mediocre unless we stack the defense or something! IDK at this point. I just know we've lost out big time, and shot ourselves in the foot (this won't be the first time at QB aka the most important position in football, we've flopped (Culpepper over Brees)) C'mon man... We should start calling them the Lolphins..

I don't even wear my Dolphins gear outside anymore. I have a front license plate that's about it. I'm ashamed of this franchise, especially for my generation. 99-present... We are the Browns if not worse. In fact, the Browns prospects of being a contender seem to be coming to fruition a bit... So we really are the new Browns... the laughing stock of the NFL. Enjoy boys.

LOL. That's a lot of emotion to invest in something that is supposed to be entertaining. This team is on an upward arc for the first time in two decades and some armchair GMs are ready to walk off the job. As such is life.

I've seen one playoff win and like 3 (I think) playoff appearances in my 23 yrs of fandom bruh. They are what they are, you may not like the way i look at this franchise but I'm not a pessimist I'm a realist. My fandom has sucked I won't dress that up. Fins have blown it at QB twice in a short time span (once just a season ago) then they turned around and picked Waddle (the price was 2 first round picks (one being #6 overall) for.... damned Jaylen Waddle.

Neither can you dress these pig **** top pick failures back to back UP. So why even try? That's all I'm pointing out. I'm not speaking on the rest of this draft or the last. Only how we handled each top pick we had... Tua over Herbert could set us back decades dude.. very possible based on what we've seen from each so far. Wake up and smell the coffee and take off your rose teal glasses. We've blown it now we're praying we did enough with the rest of our picks to make up for 'that elite game changer in the top 6 (or 5) ' that we flopped on two years in a row.

Maybe you should just follow another team??? I mean, is it really worth losing your sanity over this? I'm not being facetious at all here. I really think you should just pick another team to follow. I mean....I've thought about becoming an Eagles fan a time or two. I'm from there, all my other teams are Philly teams...76ers, Phillies, Villanova, St. Joes, I mean...I like the Penguins for hockey, but they're Pittsburgh. I've just personally never been one to jump ship on my team, but I don't have a problem with someone else that decides to do so. It might actually do you some good. You seem to like Herbert, so maybe a Chargers fan? Tampa just won the Super Bowl, you could root for them? The Chiefs? Just go, your rants will not be missed. Last thing you should be is ashamed to wear your team merch outside. That's pretty lame right there.

Didn't read beyond the first sentence(Well i caught a few words while writing.) Homerism doesn't deter me. The opposite in fact, I pity them. They think they are the real fans.

The real fans ARE ... let me repeat that junior... ARRRRRE THE REAL FANS. THE ONES WHO GO INSANE OVER THIS S*** The Ones who LOSE SLEEP OVER THIS. THE ONES WHO BUST THE FRANCHISE'S BALLS THE HARDEST.

So yeah, I may need to vent my frustration sometimes. And don't you were your little self about my 'precious time' There is no other sports uniform I would ever cheer harder for.

You're a B-level fan at best. Like a bad movie. I see fans like you and I see fans sitting on their hands at the stadium when our defense is facing 3rd and goal.

Well, I am in my 55th year of being a Dolphins fan. Heard Joe Auer's opening kickoff return on a transistor radio. Played football until right shoulder got ruined. Grading fans on a fan board seems just a little over the top because we do not know what the rest of our lives outside of this board can/will/might drop in our laps at any minute. Take it easy! Go 'Phins!

Since I'm the thread starter, I just wanted to come back and add a few thoughts re; the draft results.
    • As per the usual, the Dolphins did NOT draft ANY of the players I wanted, or thought they should have. Did they not get the memo???
    • I accept #1 to be a reality of life beyond what is within my control and embrace the mantra "what will be will be". But, I'm still not happy about it. And, yes...I too have vented to those that I feel most comfortable doing so with (much to their chagrin).
    • I can only hope that Grier & Flores know MUCH better than I do and picked the right guys to help the team be more competitive and win more games moving forward. Because in the end, that's all that matters.
    • This will happen again next year. I will spend months researching the top prospects coming out and will watch the draft in anxious anticipation of my favorite team drafting the players I want only to watch them go in a completely different direction. It's a lot like Groundhog Day for me...LOL!
    • I understand COMPLETELY the level of frustration of others that feel the same way I do. My only advice to them is to accept the things you cannot change. It's not worth torturing yourself over. If you're like me, you've got bigger more important things in life to worry about.
Lastly, I just want to thank everyone that contributed to this thread and helped make it fun to be part of as the draft played out. Perhaps the best part of the draft for me was having the chance to post each time we selected a player then read some of the other posters opinions/thoughts/perspectives on said player. There's no denying the passion that exists on this board for our favorite NFL team.

    Go Phins!

I agree 'in theory.' But what would you say if someone (anyone at all) told you to find another team because they make you angry. Lol. I devoted my entire life to this team ffs. Hell I'm a former South FL local, I went to several games a year in the early to mid 2000s... I screamed my lungs out for this team many times so.... That's insulting to me but i should not react like a child on a message board... that's my bad.
