I guess we'll find a running back in the trash bin out behind the training facility

Jags going to draft Amari Rogers next and make it a Clemson sweep?

I’d move up to 32 or 33, Williams should still be available then.

Running back is a dead position. Stop already. Yes you can find one behind the dumpster

This brass has never shown they value the RB position.

They appear to be following modern analytics on the position. I agree with this approach.

Definitely don’t expect them to move up for one.

true they’re no longer valued by the nfl teams (especially ours lately) as us fans value them. But we’ve been getting our rb’s behind the dumpsters lately and we haven’t had much of a running game to show for it.

young qb’s will thrive more with a good running game and running back. That’s why I’d have liked to have Harris or etienne.

still some good options out there though.

A lot of analysts were saying 4 QB’s might go in a row. For the most part, if you’re drafting in the top 5, you should be taking QB, Edge or OT. Cincy might break Burrow before he’s able to do anything with Chase.

It seemed likely just 2 weeks ago that one of them would have been there.

I guess I can get that, yeah. I just don’t think that if they really wanted pitts or chase that badly that they would risk it like that. It doesn’t make sense to gamble like that. Only they really know I guess.

I like that pickup for the Ravens.

This draft seems a little more by the numbers this year than usual, I guess a result of covid and all the impact it had on both the college season and the testing season.

EDIT: Just as I say that Payton Turner goes to the Saints.

hope it turns out well obviously but this draft was so freaking unexciting given the potential. Feel like we missed on everything in the 1st round.

UDFA rookie James Robinson out produced every single RB that got drafted last year and took a former top 10 pick RBs job.

That would be the analytics argument

They then turned around and grabbed a first round RB the year after. I have no idea what the logic is in that but it's what we've got.

And there's an interesting reach. Payton Turner to the Saints.

Wonder who they wanted to trade up for earlier. This feels like a settle.

Agreed. It isn't that either of the guys we drafted will be busts, most likely, it's the fact we COULD have had a special player, a difference-maker, and we screwed that up yet again.

good point. For me I just wanted to see us get one of the too two or three though and get Tua all the help we could. You can find them anywhere if you know what you’re looking for. I get the pick at 18 not going RB. We needed pass rush help too. I just hope we do something to address the rb position more in the rest of this draft

Another "interesting" pick here in Stokes the CB. It's like Green Bay made the pick to counter that one pass to Scotty Miller lol.

We’re talking about a GM who selected a short QB coming off of a hip injury who’s struggled to consistently stay healthy over the NFL offensive rookie of the year. Our other 1st round picks either couldn’t see the field or ranked in the bottom 5 of all OT’s. I trust him with 2nd round picks or lower, not 1st rounders.

I don’t give him the benefit of the doubt anymore.

You can't judge based on a single year, let alone the weird *** covid year it was. C'mon now. You can absolutely be critical, and the pressure will be on this season, but let's be real.

I mean there is some validity here right. This is year 3. What superstar do you see on the team yet? You need a few of those to be able to get the trophy, and i'm not sure we have even one.

Yeah some dumpster running backs ...

off the top of my head...

    Derrick henry
    Alvin kamara
    Dalvin cook
    Josh jacobs
    Cam akers
    Nick chubb
    Kareem hunt
    Ronald jones
    Leonard fournette
    Joe mixon
    Jk dobbins
    Jonathan taylor

All of them are studs... you do a redraft on each of their draft classes and theyre first rounders, all of them.

Take best player available in the first round period, fill needs in the later round.

Don't be daft. You judge the results, but declaring failure after 1 year is asinine and just knee-jerk nonsense.

One thing that stings is our three rivals all did well, maybe the Jets gave up to much for that USC guard but he's a big boy. Jones to the Pats was not fun to watch.

I really want Williams but honestly there is still some really good talent on the board and i hope that we just take a great player without having to give up anything to get one. Some guys i thoight were possible first rounders prime for us at 36.

My only worry is jets taking and RB ahead of us.

Well, no centers went round 1. Creed Humphrey/Quinn Meinerz could be in contention. Javonte if he makes it is a no-brainer.

LOTS of OT depth still - Tevin Jenkins, Sam Cosmi, Jalen Mayfield, Dillon Radunz, Liam Eichenburg.

Trevon Moehrig at S, though I feel we will wait on that position. Baron Browning at LB is an interesting talent.

I mean considering we've taken what sounds like the team's WR1 and ED1 then haven't we done that? Not arguing whether or not we agree with the team on those evaluations, but the team seem to be taking their guys regardless of what the noise is elsewhere.

You first. Other teams who've drafted high have seen immediate results. Not us. And this isn't Grier's first year as GM so why is it unfair to judge him by his previous drafts?

I feel like we got weaker versus our division rivals today. That’s the disappointing thing. This feels like the 2013 draft where we were supposed to build the foundation of our future today and just missed.

10-6 second year into a complete teardown/rebuild. What results are you wanting to judge on if not team success? Individual player success? Grier is building the team that Flores wants, and thus far the results have been objectively great. I don't get the negativity. If they aren't in the playoffs next year, then you'd have a valid complaint. I fully expect them to be though.
