I honestly wouldn’t mind the Fins taking a Tackle at 6, and then either Marshall or Moore at 18. That is assuming that both Chase and Pitts are gone at 6.
Unlucky 13 brought up the comparison and for me it would be a Ted Ginn like story if we picked Waddle over Smith.
Yeah, I wasn't comparing the two on the field. Only that I would feel that it was an equal disaster from a draft perspective.
I'm not sure how much of a "disaster" the 2007 draft actually was for the Dolphins who came away with Ted Ginn, Paul Soliai, Samson Satele and Brandon Fields who all had sustained NFL careers. That seems like a solid draft class TBH. Landing a couple solid starters usually qualifies as decent. Miami got 4. But speaking of the 2007 Draft....has there ever been a more unspectacular collection of QBs?! 01 - Jamarcus Russell 22 - Brady Quinn 36 - Kevin Kolb 40 - John Beck 43 - Drew Stanton 92 - Trent Edwards 103 - Isaiah Stanback 151 - Jeff Rowe 174 - Troy Smith 205 - Jordan Palmer 217 - Tyler Thigpen UDFA - Richard Bartel UDFA - Matt Moore UDFA - Matt Gutierrez UDFA - Tyler Palko
I don't know, my undrafted boy Moore was pretty spectacular at times. He's still one of my favorite QB's ever...tough as nails, completely fearless and leadership for days. LOL, he should have went #1 overall that year.
Hahaha...no offense to MM, but think about that...Matt freakin' Moore, an UDFA and career journeyman / back-up is literally the best QB from that draft! That's wild.
Yea, and I think that is ridiculous. Which is why I replied. I am hoping Unlucky13 is very sad on Thursday.
I think he could have been something truly special if it wasn't for the back to back to back concussions at the start of his career in Carolina...there was a solid year there where he should have been on the bench (via injured reserve) instead of starting. But yeah, that draft was absolutely terrible and you never know who's going to develop...even 5 years later when it seems like fates have been sealed. I loved Matt because whenever he got on the field, his team would run through walls for him and he didn't let anything effect his game. I can't tell you how many times I saw him throw a bomb that gets picked off, and then the very next play he throws another bomb for a TD. Or he'd get demolished one play, then throw a screen the next play and try to level the end who just destroyed him. The dude just makes me smile, LOL.
If we take Smith and Harris in the first round, I'm likely going to take a vacation from the NFL for a while. You'll get your wish.
