Eh, there are always what if this and that and the other things. Could the score have been much worse? Yes. Could it have been better (even a W for miami?), yes!
But bottom line, it was 20-14. Who cares what could have been, it is what it is!

Good start for the Jets, OK start for Miami. Jets needed to jump out quick before a tough stretch and got a head start. Miami needed to have its young team play a solid game, which they did for the most part. Just wasnt solid enough. Hopefully we (and we should) get better as the season moves along.

Depending on Brady, Jets and Pats should contend for the top spot, with the Bills running just behind. If Brady is out for a chunk of the season, the Bills have a good chance to pass them imo. We will likely be the bottom of the division again, but should be a tough game instead of the walkover of last year.

 

I'm not saying he is a troll. He's a very smart poster when he wants to be. It just seems like his first post was a bit.....he took more shots at us than needed.

For the most part, the things that 124 is posting are really good. I have seen alot worse. At the same time, his noodle arm quarterback, the great hype Ginn,etc... are smartalec comments, and it grows really old. Maybe I'm just ticked off today due to the loss, but I've been noticing this for awhile, that these comments are made with smiliy faces, thumbs up, etc..., and as long as they continue, they are going to get responses.

Thats my two cents, and I mean no disrespect to anyone...

Just got home...this was definitely a game the Phins could have won. I didn't see much out of our running game, we made some really bad penalties at the worse time, but the refs also screwed us a couple times, especially in the 3rd quarter when we got called for a pass interference that wasn't....we get called for ticky tack pass interferences and the Jets get away with a few of them. I think Long looked pretty average at LT...hopefully it was rookie jitters (he also cost us a couple penalties). Pennington loooked really good in the 4th quarter but when you are down by 13 it is hard to come back from this. On to next week. Big props to Fasano our new TE.

 

Bro, Jets fans have been calling Pennington "noodle arm" ever since he came into the league, I doubt they are going to stop now.

 

I agree with everything, especially the "Mike is the man" part.

I fully understand where he's coming from, though. He's got to make sure the boards remain as clean as can be. We all know how ugly it can get with Dolphins/Jets fans going at it. We'll all feel a bit better tomorrow. Average 0-1 frustrations right now. That's all.......

you got a warped way of looking at things kid. you're team almost lost. what annoys me is that we lost to a "bad" team today. you won from a combo of luck, broken plays, and mistakes. outside of the chips falling your way, this game was nothing more than 2 very average, if that, teams playing average and mistake riddled football.

ive been telling you for weeks now to curb your enthusiasm. and you come here under the pretense of friendliness and sportsmanship, but you actually gloat. and thats fine, go ahead and do it. but im prepared for mediocrity. the jets are a ****ty team, and they've invested everything into making this premature run. this season will be the last mangini works in this industry. he's going to get fired, and no one will touch him after all he's done as a rat. enjoy it today dude, because dismantling and rebuilding are terms you're going to become very familiar with.

I feel ya brother, i know in the game thread I was negative....its gut reaction from me.....but its necessary for us to lose now, so we can win later (or at least that's the mantra Sporano will preach to us). We are all disappointed, but we can take away from this game, that this team looks like a fighter, and won't give up. It has the same bulldog mentality its head coach has, and will stand up to anyone. That's what I saw today, and wouldn't have seen last year.

Yes we will lose a lot of game this year, and it would have been very sweet to ruin Favre's debut. But our young players will learn from days like today, and we have the upside, and will get better. The Jets OTOH hope they win this year, because in the near future they will be in salary cap hell.

 

That will make this year very interesting. We'll see just how valuable Brady is.

 

FWIW, Jets fans came in all loud. Maybe it was the heat, but Dolphin fans FAR out yelled them, not even close. Maybe the realization that we are not a good team yet, and so the closeness of the game sent that home? In my area no J E T S yelling after the game. Totally different from any Dolphins/Jets game I've attended since 1988.

 

Nice to hear we may have a good fanbase this season. Definately need to put up a win in the next 2-3 weeks though to keep any kind of positive momentum.

As for Brady, couldnt happen to a better guy! But you know, even knowing he was out, to barely beat the CHEIFS .... hmm, might not be a great year from them, heres hoping their reign is at an end.
Cant wait for week 6 to see Moss screaming in Cassells face while Bellicheat blankly stares out at the field.

 

Was an upsetting loss, especially when you lose against a bad team, to many mental errors, penalties and of course when you play vs Farvrey you are playing against the refs...was a bad calls galore.

 

Ok, I appreciate everyone's opinions but this thread has run its course, IMO.

 

Bro this is not a game of what if's, it is a game that takes place between whistle to whistle, and that's it. Also it is about sportmanship. Good game.
