WOW! What a great victory. These Dolphins are for real. It was a fantastic game of football. I really enjoyed it. Tua was very impressive and the D delivered when needed.
Final Stats: 20 out of 28 Passes Completed, 248 Yards, 2 Touchdowns, 0 Interceptions, 7 Carries for 35 Yards, 122.3 Passer Rating. Impressive for his second game out.
Some guys are just winners. Tua...Is a winner. I hate to say it, but Ryan Tannehill would have never won us this game. Before this goes off the rails, know that I was a staunch Tannehill supporter and still am, but THIS is why we drafted Tua. He's a winner, it's evident. This game felt like a playoff game! I thought I was watching a great college game. That's the way Tua makes it feel. We haven't had a Quarterback give us this feeling since Marino. Obviously it's only one week, but I am all in on this kid. God bless, we finally have a QB! I'm almost 39 for crying out loud! I was in high school the last time we had one.
It's been a while since I've been up on my feet and yelling in my house watching the game, and that was today.
I can’t believe they won that game. I’m very high on the Cardinals, so that’s a hell of a win in my book. It feels really weird to have expectations like this after 20 years or so of Dolphins fandom.
I thought Kingsbury out-coached Flo for most of the game today. But the team maintained its body language and aggressiveness in spite of Murray putting on a clinic. That's a sign of good coaching. We still need to figure out how to spring our running backs to get to the second level and Tua needs to recognize where the blitz is coming from to adjust his protections but I haven't been this optimistic since Ronnie Brown single-handly wrecked the Deflatriots over a decade ago. We're on track to do something special.
It is 1 am here in the UK and I have no idea how I'm supposed to sleep after that game. Coaching team decimated, injuries starting to mount up, and facing off against one of the hottest teams in the NFL on the road and our rookie QB starting only his second game leads us to victory. Beautiful. Last season was almost fun to watch games because I had no worries over the result, it definitely was not that way tonight.
Dolphins outscored the Cardinals 10-0 in the fourth quarter, just when it looked like Tua and company were going to be overwhelmed.
Wow! What a great win! In past years this is one we would have lost. That FG miss was huge but when you keep testing your luck as in 4th down tries eventually something gives. Tua looked a lot better today. Home next week!
It's a different team now. The players expect to win when they step on the field. The defense made just enough big plays to allow the offense to win it. Really great game to watch. Tua needs to clean up some mistakes, but this was always supposed to be his learning season anyway.
What an impressive win. As Silverphin pointed out, Tagovailoa played very well. I was truly hoping I was going to see a vast improvement compared to last week's jittery debut. In all serious though, the offensive line didn't play well tonight...nor did they play last week. It does make me wonder with Tua being a lefty, the importance of the right side of the line hasn't truly been realized yet. With a right handed quarterback the left tackle is CRITICAL. With a lefty, it's now the right tackle. They do need to make the adjustments needed and fix it. Defensively, I was so excited after Arizona's fumble returned for a touchdown. I was having flashbacks of last week, but after the Cardinals got into their groove, Jesus that kid Kyler Murray (aka Kylo-Ren as my wife called him) is incredible! The three losses we had prior to today's game was against offenses with very mobile quarterbacks and it looked for a while that our defense just couldn't stop him. Hell, I'm not sure any defense can really stop him. All in all, the team being short 5 assistant coaches due to COVID, this team really pulled together and pulled off a great win, the first in Phoenix in 24 years. At the halfway point of the season, we're 5-3, after being 1-3 at the quarter point. Four wins in a row. Congrats to HC Flores and all of the Dolphins!
Ignoring a certain undefeated team, 4 wins is the joint longest unbeaten run in the league at the moment (Saints would go to 5 if they beat the Bucs).
All in all a good showing. Not going to put the cart ahead of the horse but the way the team has played since going with Tua has really surprised me as I didn't see them playing this well and more than likely losing these past two games. If they can continue to build on this the future finally is looking bright for Miami.
Awesome and amazing win, but it's still one game. We play again next week and we cant let our guard down against an "easier" opponent.
They haven't let their guard down all year, so I'm not expecting a collapse anytime soon. Rams and Cardinals, two very good playoff teams back to back...and another one bites the dust.
I agree, I'm just saying it's kind of a piece of human nature that needs to be fought against. It's easy to get a bit overconfident after winning a few tough games and seeing what should be a win on the schedule. We havent been in this situation recently so I want to see how this group responds.
What a game! I watched on Red Zone, so I didn't quite catch everything, but Tua met the moment every chance he got. After that ridiculous RPO fourth down conversion from Kyler Murray where half the team tackles the back instead of Murray, I was resigned to the fact that he's just too good. But two straight stops after the Dime to Geisk. . . I mean Mack Hollins. Who the bleep is Mack Hollins? Tua made him look like Deandre Hopkins! Kingsbury should have gone for it instead of made that kick, either way it was the game, but one yard with Kyler Murray is a lot easier than a 50 yard kick with the game on the line. Just like with the Rams the week before's defence, not many team's on their schedule will have as good a Defence, not many teams the Dolphins have left have an Offence as good as Arizona's. Their receivers made Howard and Jones look average. After having to chase down Kyler Murray for a game, guys like Herbert, Burrow, Lock and Darnold will look like Jared Goff did.
I think the best and worst part about the win is that it puts some pressure on the team to continue winning. You've beaten two tough teams in a row. You cant claim the team "isnt there yet". Yeah you can claim we are still improving, but we have shown we can win now.
I dont disagree with any of this, but Tua didnt make that WR look special. Yes the throw was beautiful but that was a big league catch over a defender not everyone can make. That was more or less a 50/50 ball he fought for and won. He made himself look special that play. I'm not taking credit away from Tua, but let's not say he contributed 100% of the biggest play.
I'm already seeing people say we#re 8-3 because there's "No way" we lose any of the next 3. A dangerous mindset to get into.
I watched the game last night on NFL Season Pass and I was very impressed by Tua. He does need to learn to throw the ball away a little better...there were a couple of bonehead plays there, with him hitting his own O lineman and almost getting intercepted on a throw-away. But his accuracy is awesome and he's got good elusiveness when he runs. Excited to see him play out the rest of the season.
Fans can have whatever mindset we want. Fans being overconfident has no effect on how the team plays.
Yeah, I've been hearing that for decades. People have this idea that what we as fans think means anything to what's going on in the locker room.
