If Tua looks legit, what position would you like to address with one or two first round draft picks, OR, what 2021 prospects would you like to see picked up?

With two first rounders we might have the ammunition to go up and get someone high in the first. So, assuming there are no limits, and assuming we're not going to get Trevor Lawrence (for whatever reason) - what would you like to see happen - for now?

How about OL? - Penei Sewell is getting MASSIVELY hyped:

Edge rusher? Looks like Rousseau is the only guy being hyped right now:

LB - Micah Parsons is getting love:

A glance at the 'Big Boards' doing the rounds right now show WRs and CBs.
Do we move on from an expensive CB and go for cheap, young talent? Are we happy with our WR's corp?

    This seems a little premature.

Thinking about how you would like to improve the team with the first round picks that we have?

The performance of the prospects might still be under evaluation, and we've got lots of games to play, but the roster is more or less settled.

    So not that premature.

What's more, since a lot of people here didn't think it was too premature to write-off Tua before he'd played a snap, and hope to replace him with Lawrence or someone else, I didn't think there'd be an issue.

So don’t respond the the post.

I wanna get a stud edge rusher within the Texans pick. We’re getting lots of sacks, but you can never have enough guys who can get to the QB.

I think DL, LB, S, WR and RB are all areas we can improve. We’ve invested a lot in our front 7 and think with Parker having a hard time staying on the field, I’d go elite WR if they’re available, DL/LB with second pick and then go RB and S in the 2nd round.

All depends on who’s there too. I could get behind a BPA strategy there too

We need a pass rusher and an elite LB would be nice. Our LB play post the Z. Thomas era has been mediocre IMO, Tua paired with a dynamic WR would also be ideal.

I'll go Micah Parsons and Jaylen Waddle.

In this hypothetical I'm looking for an impact safety and an impact LB.

So there are only two players getting hyped up at as top talents at those positions right now:

Micah Parsons is your top LB prospect.
Jevon Holland is the top Safety prospect.

I'm not sure we're going to need to spend a lot of draft capital on an OL star, let alone our top pick in the next draft, but the tape on Sewell is very, very tempting.

He's just ridiculous. If we can provide bulletproof protection for Tua and have a guy who can get to the next level and open up the run game... is it worth it?

If Sewell is the top talent on the board, I would take him. It will lock down both tackle positions and unleash Tua.

Would love a top target for Tua - Chase and Waddle are exciting playmakers who I think would be good fits, especially Waddle with his Tua connection.

Defensively, we need a Dawg on the DL/DE. Micah Parsons I hear a lot about but haven't watched him at all. Does he have a good pass rush tool? Good blitzer? Non passrushing LB's in the top 10 are iffy. Greg Rousseau could be a good fit.

Sewell at OL is interesting, but I'm not sure I'd go that direction with the needs we have. We look to have gotten a stud in Jackson, let him play at LT. Line isn't the weak spot.

Just for nostalgia, Surtain Jr. would be fun.

Agreed Texas. I want defensive front 7 for our top pick. Slow down the run game or a threat to get to the QB. Would love to see WR with one of our next 2 picks though depending on BPA.

Wide receiver, edge rusher, and safety are your picks. Those are the next most valuable positions in football that the Dolphins currently need.

My issue with drafting a WR is I'm not really ready to say we need to replace either of our top two guys, maybe the staff is or you are, just saying personally.

I wanted Shenault Jr this draft because I thought he could effectively line up in the slot and potentially #2 WR position eventually for us.

If we go WR I'd like us to try and find a steal in the 3rd or 4th rather than commit big resources unless the talent is too much to pass up.

The thing is, our defense stunk a few weeks ago, and they absolutely dominated the last two games. We may be perfect on defense....we may need 4-5 more starters...it's just too early to tell.

On offense, I'm looking for an upgrade at RB and WR, plus I'm drafting another OT/OG in the early rounds (not R1 unless it's the true BPA). On defense, I'm always improving the edge rush and looking at LB as well...but I'm doing these things every year. We also need to draft a QB since Fitzpatrick will probably retire next season or the year after....but we want to draft a QB almost every year as well. So none of this is based on what I'm seeing today, it's just my general philosophies.

To become more specific, I'd need another 4-6 weeks to see how college plays out and see where our team is at.

At this stage it looks like we need a lot of depth.

Linebacker-> Defensive Tackle -> Pass Rush -> Tailback is the order for me.

That being said, Center will most likely be a need and they seem to really be trying to find a shifty slot WR with some speed so I could see those going earlier. They were also ready to sign LVB so they may consider Etienne or Harris to add to their tailback room and be a big part of the offense.

They really can go BPA this year and not really miss any spots we need depth, which feels good.

Well, I'm still eager for Sewell if we can get him.
Otherwise, a stud LB. I want to see as close to generational talent as possible with our 1st round pick this year.

We need to go Oline and LB first round. Hopefully somebody other than grier is making the picks. His record with first rounders is abysmal.

Whether or nor we can get the picks in the draft that I personally would like, this is what I would be shooting for in the draft.

With the first pick I would be trying like hell to pick either WR Ja'Marr Chase, LSU or OT Penei Sewell, Oregon with our first pick. Chase is a big receiver at 6'1" and 205 lbs and has championship experience playing for the Tigers. We definitely need a WR that can not only get separation but can also battle for passes against the typically shorter DBs in the league. Rondale Moore and Jaylen Waddle are great receivers but with both of them under 6 feet, they lack the physical ability to be able to compete against NFL quality DBs.

Penei Sewell is a beast of a tackle, 6'6" and 325lbs, this Polynesian monster would definitely help anchor an offensive line and give Tagovailoa the protection he would need. Hopefully with him opting out of the 2020 season due to Covid, his draft stock will drop enough for him to fall into our lap.

Now in this day and age of quarterback quarterback quarterback, running backs aren't as coveted as they once were. This is stupid. Being able to effectively run the ball only sets your quarterback up for success and seeing how our running back situation is in question, RB Travis Etienne, Clemson fills this spot quite nicely! This kid has great vision and speed and to actually see him running the ball, he reminds me a bit of Barry Sanders. If he gets the ball in space, it's a guaranteed 1st down and if he breaks into the secondary, he's scoring. Having a dangerous running back like Etienne would definitely take a lot of pressure off Tagovailoa and give us an effective 1-2 punch offensively.

Those are my top 3 wish list picks for the upcoming draft. Getting just ONE of those three would definitely upgrade our offense.

There's a lot left to happen before the draft slots settle down, but I Sewell will definitely go top 10 if not top 5. We'd have to move up to get him. If for some reason the Dolphins do move up to grab OL, even someone as good as Sewell, the forums might need nuking from orbit, just to be sure.

I don't see us moving up to grab anyone this year. Other than Lawrence, there's no golden egg out there worth selling the farm to try and get.

There could well be three QB's that go top ten, so it might push other positions down to where we may be. I'm not sure we'll have a top 10 pick once all is said and done.

Well that is possible. I definitely see the Jets, Jaguars and possibly the Panthers drafting a quarterback. If I were the Jets and were definitely going for Lawrence, I would try and deal Darnold for a draft pick at the end of the season but this is the Jets we're talking about. They'll screw up!

No high draft picks on the offensive line this year. At some point you have to make the determination that you've put enough resources into a position and move on to bolstering other ones. Otherwise you're left potentially with positions that languish.

This year the focus should be on skilled position players. WR, TE, and RB. The secondary focus should be on ILB and DE.
