We were favored by 8 because it is a NFL game and we didn’t **** the bed. Oh and we won 24-0. Sure you can nitpick but we just thumped a division rival.

Fitz was 3-0 at one point. So he was playing really well up until those two picks.

The Jests weren't in it because they are a zombie team, they may have less talent than we did last year, their coach is a dead man walking, they have no emotion.

I would say the defense did not play down, but the offense did. We had 2 very good drives, one OK drive and then a lot of frustrating drives. We failed to kill clock in the second half, we couldn't convert a third down to save our life. Fitz sat the lead making bad throws and poor decisions. The points we scored weren't really because we were playing good offensive ball, it was a product of our defense holding them by the throat and the Jests just being that bad.

Belichick and Brady would have put their foot on their throat and won by 40. We didn't have a bad game, and saying we played down to their level is an iffy statement, sure, but it wasn't a great all-around game despite the score.

Jets punter punted 10 times today...10.....

Last I saw they were 2 for 16 for 3rd down conversions..

I do not like the Jets, or Gase but I almost felt sorry for him..In the 3rd quarter they showed a pic of him sitting on the bench, all ALONE.. and I mean alone.. No one in back of him, in front or on either side. Probably 8-10 feet on either side of him on the bench, but no one.. No coaches, players, ball girl, empty.

It was social distancing to the nth degree where no distancing was needed......lol

Dolphins put in Tua late.. They were up 24-0... I haven't seen a left-handed QB in quite awhile..

Jets are easily the worst team in the NFL.. They are 1 of the worst teams in history.

Today we overtook the Pats and moved into 2nd place in the division. If Buff loses to the Chiefs tomorrow we will only be a game and a half out of first place. Small victories but, something to cheer about. No, we're not a contender yet but, we're steadily moving in that direction. There will be hiccups which I'm sure will thrill some of our "Debbie Downer" fans but, I have high hopes that Flores is the real deal and that he's building a defense that will keep us in games while the offense gels.

I don't think the offense played down. This is the offense we had all season. This is the quarterback that Fitzpatrick is. We mostly had Fitztragic today.

Even if the Jets were a zombie team, Miami is a young team that started to have a few injuries, that by the end of the game Brandon Jones was playing linebacker.

Also, how many times during the Philbin and Gase era when these zombie DOA teams come in and not only beat Miami, but woop them and the quarterback get a perfect rating?

I don't think anyone is saying that Miami was top to bottom good today. I just don't see being upset with a win that wasn't perfect. I don't know why people need perfection to be happy. Miami is at best a borderline playoff team, and if they do squeak into the playoffs, no one expects them to do anything. Miami is a young team that is improving and I enjoy watching them improve. I enjoy watching a defense that looked like couldn't stop a zombie Jet team at the beginning of this year, shut one out on week six.

Perhaps relevant, perhaps not but sitting here watching the 49ers and Rams game and if the 49ers are “that good”, then we’re GREAT seeing how we mopped the floor with them.

They’re talking about how great the Rams defense is and the 49ers are walking all over them. We didn’t give them SQUAT.

Maybe we are indeed a much better team than we realize

We have scored a good amount of points in every game. Our offense is definitely good, especially our passing game. I would say we have one of the better receiving corps in the league, and the OL pass protection is holding up decently. The problem is our defense. It has gotten a lot better since Byron Jones return, but still we are not good enough on defense to compete with the leagues best teams.

Someone made an interesting point on Twitter, in that Fitz's decision making and accuracy seemed to be worse after he took that late hit to the helmet on the slide - not saying there was anything in it and I know that they are super careful about head injuries but he definitely didn't play as well in the 2nd half.

Its possible, but I doubt it. Fitz has always had a gunslinger mentality. When he's hot he's hot and when he's not he's not.

I completely agree. We skated thru the 2nd half of the game...dialed back pressure, stopped trying to move the ball, etc. If that was a coaching decision then so be it, but it felt like we took a lot of the 2nd half off.

It was sort of painful watching that game. The Dolphins used to be the team losing by 3 scores at halftime, while amassing under 100 yards of offense.

Gase seems to be a complete fraud. Cowher was hammering him during the halftime show.

Lots of us saw that coming after his first season... I saw it coming after a pattern of draw plays on 3rd and 10 that made me think, okay whats the genius in that playcall..

He made the players look more terrible than they really are. And thats what you call a bad coach, when you dont know how to use players and make them look bad. Just wait and see Leveon Bell return to Pittsburgh form.

we ended up trading away a franchise quarterback in exchange for a 4th round pick and 7th round pick because he looked lost out there with Gase. But thats history, we have recovered well from the mistake of having Gase and fortunately for us we will be fine at quarterback. It could have set us back even longer had we stuck with Gase.

Did you see the Jets' GM? He just had this look on his face that said, "Jesus, God, Mary and Joseph what in the hell did I inherit?" I wasn't aware that Gase was hired and in place prior to the Jets hiring their GM. He's GOT to get into the ear of the Johnson's and urge them to get rid of Gase.

If your goal is the #1 Overall pick, then Gase probably will not get fired.

This team has quit on him.

Abhorrence for Lawrence should be a lot more attainable for this Jets team than Tanking for Tua was for the Dolphins. (The Dolphins are lucky Joe Burrow played interference there)

The thing is, they spotted the football at the 43...his knees first touched at the 40 and his body came down at the 38 or 39! I feel like they cheated us on 3-4 yards on that sack.

I was a bit skeptical but thought it was worth mentioning - some of his placement was well off in the 2nd half and the interception on the ball to Preston Williams was at least 5 yards underthrown (I know that's an arm thing but could be that his decision making was slightly off)

Trevor Lawrence should be in the NFL right now.. hes a man playing with children, hes far beyond more skilled than anyone in college football right now. There was John Elway, Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, and now there is Trevor Lawrence. Thats the category he is in as far as his prospect in the NFL. He is as cant miss as the other 3.

but with that said if by Week 15 it looks like the Jets will be making the pick, I imagine Trevor Lawrence is going to want to see who the Jets plan to hire and what system will be in place.

if the Jets start to talk about bringing in Dabo Swinney, then I imagine he will easily commit. Though i assume Deshaun Watson will try to recruit Swinney to coach in a much easier division.

but if the Jets try to hire some nothing coach like Joe Judge for the Giants, why would you risk your career for a guy like that. These cant miss prospect want to feel secured about the franchise theyre going into. If the team isnt all in about success, then you can easily end up having a professional career like Vince Young or Matt Leinart, two guys who had ridiculous success in college and went into a team that didnt care to build around you properly or develop you the right way.

so yea, i dont think Trevor to the Jets is in stone even if they end up with the first pick. I havent seen such a poorly dysfunctional ran franchise in a while. And its been really terrible football for the Jets. I mean the last time they looked respectable Rex Ryan was their coach..

I truly don't think their goal is the number one pick. They just drafted their franchise quarterback in Darnold but like Tannehill in Miami, Gase is destroying this kid!

Probably worth mentioning- I absolutely love Dabo Swinney, the man. He does a weekly radio talk show and his answers are as honest & as straightforward as any you'll ever hear. He'll be quick to say, for example, "Yeah, that one was on me...I completely messed that up by trying to get too aggressive." You never hear coaches say that kind of thing and he quickly learns from his own mistakes, which I think is critical for a coach at that level.

Likewise, he will call players out without second thought- he doesn't say, "We can do better in those situations," instead he'll say "<Player Name> messed up there and made the wrong read, so we'll definitely work with him on that over the week." I just have a ton of respect for the guy and even though I'm not a big Clemson fan or anything, I'll listen in my car whenever they're interviewing him and I catch it. I guess the younger generation would say "he's 100% real, 100% of time." That's Dabo...just a great guy and a great leader of men.

As far as him taking over the Jets and drafting Lawrence, I'd be angrier than a sinner in church on Easter Sunday! I don't want to see either one of them in NY because they'll build a dynasty. The good news is that I don't think Swinney is very interested in coaching in the pros...at least he hasn't been for a few years now.

Money talks, and NFL money is a lot more than NCAA money. Also, he will have his choice of coaching either Deshaun or Trevor. The Jets may offer him highest paid coach in the NFL.

Ill say this right now, i think Dabo and Lincoln Riley are both NFL bound. One or both will be in the NFL after the season is done. Theyll be aiming at the Jets and Houston job.

Atlanta job looks appealing as well but when you have a chance to coach Trevor or Deshaun, theyre going to look at those first.

Maybe so, we'll see. Swinney reminds me a lot of Philbin...except that he's really smart and knows how to lead as well. That's the type of man he is though; mega-trustworthy. Eventually you'd think he has to climb to the top of the list for pro teams, and honestly the Jets would be the perfect placement since he keeps Trevor & gains the national spotlight in the Big Apple.

Gosh that makes me angry and I can't say this enough- GO JETS GO! I want them to win more than I want Mia or Tenn to win right now. Like it or not, all of you need to root for Adam Gase over the next few months and hope that he salvages part of the season just enough to pick #2 overall.

LMAO, let's play a little game. It's called pick your poison-

Option #1 includes a horrible team, a coach way in over his head and a franchise in complete disarray. They couldn't buy a game if somebody had it on sale.

Option #2 includes a generational quarterback and perhaps the top college coach in the country, who just so happens to have a great relationship with said quarterback. It could be the foundation for something truly beautiful in New York.

Do we want more of option #1 or try out option #2 to see what that looks like? That's why I'm screaming LET'S GO JETS today....I'd rather be the one yelling it instead of ACTUAL JETS FANS for the next decade!

In all seriousness, Tua vs Lawrence for the next decade does sound like a lot of fun to watch. That still doesn't mean that I'm rooting for it though!

You are forgetting though...we’re talking about the Jets. The New York Jets!!!! It wouldn’t matter if the reincarnation of Don Shula, Paul Brown or any other coach came back to coach the Jets...they would STILL be perineal failures.

Think about it. New York sucks so badly that they’re not even allowed to play in their own state :sidelol:
