This was definitely an "argument for Tua" game, when touchdowns instead of field goals could've been the difference.

Tua is not even a year out from major hip surgery. We should not rush him back because we are losing. Having Tua is not going to make us a winner this season anyway. It's best not to risk re-injury with Tua at this point. If he plays this season it should be in the second half of the season once he's had enough time to heal.

I didn't miss the point; I'm well aware of that. The offense was just as garbage as the defense.

However that doesn't excuse the defense for giving up 30+ in a ball control/keep away strategy that really just asked them not to give up big plays. Yet they did consistently. Of course the offense didn't help because they couldnt score a TD, but the D was still bad.

We ran 68 plays, to their 62. We had the ball 33 minutes to their 27 & the last 6 plays and 1:50 of that was them running out the clock. AND... we gave up 343 passing yards and 98 rushing. Those figures just go to show how the defense just didn't get the job done given what the gameplan was. Of course the offense choked as well.

At the end of the day the fact of the matter is neither side of the ball was good enough. The defense however; was not good.

I'd like to be optimistic but I basically saw a team that got dominated every time Seattle was halfway serious.

The Dolphins were actually 56% likely to win at that point, even though they were down by 2 at that point -- the game had swung in their favor. That was when they needed a defensive stop, but again Seattle scored easily.

Yards per play is your statistical friend here. The Dolphins surrendered 7.1. Not good.

When a team can appear complacent 75% of the time and turn it on and score at will when it needs to, the team they're playing is garbage.

You do realize we were playing Seattle, right? Wilson has averaged 5 TD's per game coming into today so them moving the ball was expected.

The defense played well compared to my expectations of how they would play. That said, I cant say they played well by any objective measure. Any time Seattle had to show urgency they basically did what they wanted with us.

The offense lost the game though in my opinion at least more so.

Without the pick by Howard the game is likely a blowout that's pinned squarely on the defense, with the Seahawks' 7.1 yards per play and 10.6 YPA. They score there -- even a FG -- and Fitzpatrick is in a must-pass situation and likely deteriorates, leading to a lopsided loss. So IMO whether you pin this one on the defense or not should rest on whether you credit it for that INT, or whether you consider INTs to be largely random and/or the fault of the opposing team.

So if he can't play now and help this team win, it was a wasted pick

It's not about Fitz at all it's about giving Tua time to be healed as much as possible before he takes hits.

There is enough blame to go around. The only thing that is working on this team right now is the passing game. If it weren't for our receivers and decent pass protection we would have lost or gotten blown out in every game.

We’re not a playoff team and we’re definitely not in win now mode so there’s no rush.

He's healthy enough to play in an emergency, but I doubt he is 100%. No one is 100% less than a year out from major hip surgery. Those types of injuries usually take at least a year to heal completely. No point in risking it with Tua at this point. The risk vs reward of playing him right now is not in our favor.

That's such a lame excuse. Neither is Cincinnati or San Diego yet Burrow and Herbert are playing and they are doing pretty good. Meanwhile, our top 5 QB can't beat out a washed up journeyman QB.

I don't think that its because he's not healed. I just don't think he's very good. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think I am. I never wanted the Dolphins to draft him. Hopefully we get the #1 pick and get Trevor Lawrence

Don't take it from me, look it up. Surgery for a hip fracture takes up to a year for full recovery. For a professional football player who is going to be taking big hits regularly, giving him the full year to recover is the smart decision.

For the record, I liked both of them better than Tua. As far as Tua and Miami, less than a year after his surgery, why take the risk? No one expected this team to be a good team and they’re not. We’re playing for the future so let him heal.

I'm with you, I did not want Tua. That being said, next year burrow and Herbert will have already taken their lumps and have a year of experience under their belts and Tua will not. So we'll have to go through his growing pains in year 2. I truly hope we end up with the number one pick and get Trevor Lawrence. Tau is not the answer.

So if he doesn't play a down this year but starts next year and consistently takes Miami deep into the playoffs and wins several Superbowls, will he still be a wasted pick?

So what if we end up with the number one pick next year? We won't know if tua is any good, so do we take Lawrence or take a chance with tua? I'd like to see what he can do this year so we know if he's any good or not.

Mahomes and Rodgers both did well sitting before they played. I’m not saying he’s anywhere near their level but I’m gonna trust this staff for 2-3 more years.

On the plus side? The Texans lost to an average Vikings team to go to 0-4. Solid chance Houston is getting ready to implode on the season. Not sure the Jets have a win on their schedule though, unless you think they can steal one from Miami (they could), but 1-15 locks them in at pick #1.

To me that would depend on Tua. If he plays and plays well but we still have the number 1 pick, either from Houston or some reason that can't be pinned on Tua, then I trade that pick.

Completely understand that. Hence the keep away gameplan. When you're on the field that much less though, you shouldn't be abused that badly. You shouldn't be giving up as much yardage as quickly. They weren't good on D, or O. Knew we were going to give up yards and points, to tried to minimize the damage, but they still stunk it up on D. And to make it worse couldn't score. No matter how you want to cut it, the D wasn't good.

I guess what I meant was if tua doesnt play this year or play enough to see what he's got. Do you pass on Lawrence?
