Here are the highlights from the week 1 clash between the Jests and the Jills.

Buffalo's D looks legit, even from just these highlights. Lots of pressure on the QB and the secondary wasn't sleeping. We could be seeing some more INTs from Fitzy this week.

The offense doesn't look as tough, although Allen seems to like using his legs and he manages to get yards. I get the feeling he's still young mentally and could maybe be thrown off his game and make mistakes.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    Preview write-ups:

    Oddsshark
"Allen threw for a career-high 312 passing yards to go along with two passing touchdowns and another on the ground as he led the team in rushing with 57 yards on 15 carries.

Allen also had two horrible fumbles and missed several open throws, including a sure touchdown to receiver John Brown. Luckily for Buffalo, the Jets were not able to capitalize on Allen’s mistakes.

Allen profiles similarly to Patriots quarterback Cam Newton, who had success running the ball against the Dolphins in Week 1. Allen should be able to do the same in Week 2.

The formidable Bills defense should not have trouble slowing a Dolphins offense that struggled mightily in Week 1."

"The rebuilding Dolphins may have a bright future but are not in a great spot this week against Buffalo. The turnover-prone Fitzpatrick is capable of the odd out-of-body performance, but we think it is more likely he struggles against a strong defensive team."

    WinnersandWhiners:
"Buffalo got a mixed bag of results from quarterback Josh Allen in the win against the Jets in week one. Allen threw for a career-high 312 yards and two touchdowns, adding another score on the ground. He led the team in rushing with 57 yards on 15 carries. It was not all good from Allen, though, as he fumbled twice and missed a sure touchdown pass to John Brown. New York was unable to capitalize on any of the mistakes and the Bills covered the 6.5-point spread with ease. Buffalo took a controlling lead in the first quarter, as Allen ran one in from two yards out and then threw a four-yard touchdown pass to Zack Moss later in the quarter.
The Bills extended the lead to 21-0 on a 17-yard strike from Allen to Brown. New York would score the next 10 points to trim the lead to 21-10, but Buffalo added a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter to ice the game. Allen finished 33 of 46 through the air for a QBR of 71.1. Running back Devin Singletary carried the ball nine times for 30 yards and Moss added nine attempts for just 11 yards. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs led the team with eight catches for 86 yards on nine targets. Brown caught six passes for 70 yards and the touchdown.

Miami is coming off a week one loss to New England. The Dolphins were able to stay in touch for most of the game, but they could never seem to cash in on offense. Veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw three interceptions, including a late one in the fourth quarter that sealed the fate of the spread and the game. Wide receiver DeVante Parker left the game early in the second half with a hamstring injury and could miss this week’s game as well. He had missed the majority of the team’s practices over the last 2.5 weeks with the same injury and it eventually caused him to leave the game."

    Odds:
Buffalo are -5.5 favourites. Quite possible for the line to increase.

    Not a good matchup.

Expect another 200+ rushing yards performance against the defense.

Miami will be officially in "Countdown to Tua" after this game.

"Despite missing the second half of the season opener due to a pesky hamstring injury, star Dolphins receiver DeVante Parker avoided a major setback and has a real chance to play Sunday against the Bills, two team sources tell the Miami Herald."

I think they learn from last week with a mobile QB and understand the mobile QB. Young team but we have them.

I think we get clubbed but am ok with that. Young team with a lot of new faces and it’s early in the season. Next year is when I need to see us be a playoff contender.

Keep Allen contained and force him to throw into tight windows.

Overall, it's not a good matchup for us. I think we have a chance, but Buffalo is the better team and matches up well against us so it's likely they have a comfortable win. If we don't see Tua week 3 Ill be somewhat surprised.

I don't know, it's hard to tell with how crazy the offseason was. We may come out and beat them, it might be a slugfest...Like a defensive one? 13-6 type of game that WE lose. The offense is putrid without Devante Parker so he needs to play for us to have a chance. No more injuries for him. Please! It's getting very very old and frustrating at this point. Guy is just always injured.
We may just get throttled at home too. If we can't stop the run, then Singletary, Moss, and Allen are going to go boss mode on us.

Fitz is no longer a tank commander and is expected to win some games this year. That usually never bodes well for him. He's better playing without expectations and I much prefer him as a tank commander opposed to starting quarterback. There's always the chance he has one of his God performances though.

The run game...What can I say? This is a mixed bag with Flores and company. Similar to the way the Pats do it I guess. I really really miss the days of Ricky Williams. Jordan Howard looks fat and slow, Patrick Laird and Myles Gaskin are just happy to be on the roster, and Matt Breida is probably injuring his ankle as we speak. Once again, I have no faith in our rushing attack and I don't expect it to change against this stout Buffalo defensive line.

The bright spots? Jerome Baker is a tackling machine. He'll probably go for 20 on Sunday. Kicking game looks solid too as does the punting unit. I like the Jones boys, and it's nice to see Howard back out there. Hopefully we keep this game competitive. Our defense is going to have to win this one though if we're to have a chance.

17-6 Bill win. We keep it close and within reach, but the offense sputters and stalls over and over again. Fitz connects with Preston Williams on a 59 yard TD pass that gets called back for offensive holding and that about sums up the offense. I hate to be negative, but I expect more of the same that we saw in New England last week. This team is just flat, and boring to watch right now. Let the countdown to Tua begin.

While Baker made a ton of tackles he played a pretty poor game overall. I was having flashbacks to Kiko being out of position, not carrying the coverage and the two 15 yard penalties. Rough...Kiko Baker or Jerome Alonzo...

The Jones kid out of Texas played a damn good game for a rook and Wilkins was our best player.

Overall the defense looked...slow, with the exception of Jones and Baker...it was a hard watch. Hopefully, they work out the communication issues because they were out of position, a lot.

LMAO! Two weeks in a row we've failed! I'll head over to Change.org now and start a petition to bring back Dirty so we can have "*****Official, OFFICIAL*****" game-day threads that allow our team to win!

Not to over simplify, but if they can't slow down the Bills running game they will have a similar result as last week.

I think the defense should look better because they should have a better idea of what the Bills are doing so the players are not only playing in a new defense for the first time, also playing against an offense that they were seeing for the first time.

That's a huge blow for them. Would be nice to see our TEs and RBs take advantage of it.

    Weather update from NFL OPS:

    SUNDAY
There is inclement weather expected for the following games:

Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins – 1:00pm ET (CBS)

    • Pregame: Partly cloudy. 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures in the mid 70s rising to the lower 80s.
    • Game: Mostly cloudy. 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures in the lower to mid 80s.
    • Postgame: Mostly cloudy. 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures in the mid to lower 80s.

      https://operations.nfl.com/updates/the-game/nfl-ops-weather-update/

"All Sunday morning, there’s a low chance of rain but high humidity and high temperatures. That’s nothing new in Miami, as the Weather Channel says the air will feel like 102 degrees Fahrenheit at kickoff.

Around 3, the chance for thunderstorms begins escalating and by 4 the chance tops 50%. That could jeopardize the finish of the game, as the likelihood of thunderstorms only increased after that. Hopefully the front won’t speed up to arrive sooner and will move in after the game." Source
