The last time Knicks hired someone from Utah it’s was Scott Layden. We all remember what a disaster that was. Hopefully Walt Perrin has more success as an assistant GM (and maybe GM since Scott Perry is on a 1 yr deal): https://bleacherreport.com/articles...n-to-be-hired-as-assistant-gm-under-leon-rose
Strange how Tim Hardaway backs away from Houston. Gives him a ton of space to shoot. I guess he was afraid to foul Houston.
you must be mistaken. That video is full of garbage human beings, starting with garbage Man number 1 Latrell speedwell. Allan Houston was a solid #2 garbage man, and of course Marcus Camby was a decent garbage truck driver. Larry Johnson was great at being the actual trash. I believe these are the droids you’re looking for;
It really feels surreal seeing LeBron in a heat jersey. It’s like I don’t even remember those years at all. Those 4 years of Miami dominance were my 4 years of college. I remember getting home from work late night and taping the bottom of my TV so I couldn’t see the ESPN scrolling marquee to buzz kill the scores when rewatching the games on ESPN at 2am. time flies, we getting old boys.
All I could deduce from this drivel is that the Heat (as a #1 seed) got outdone by dudes in the sanitazion industry... Ya'll must be pretty embarrassed.
I highly recommend you read or at least skim this. I love this idea in this messed up season. https://www.theringer.com/nba/2020/5/26/21270365/nba-restart-world-cup
That would be really cool, And I would even be in favor of it in a "normal season". Usually the 1st round stinks. This season though, I don't like that 10 teams just don't come back (because my team is one of them) in the linked example. I'd like to see a tournament for those 10 teams where you get bonus % points to your lottery chances the better you do in the tournament. And it doesn't have to be 7 game series or anything. It could even be similar to the group stage where you play everyone twice, which would be 18 games per team.
Meh I think hockey has it right. Top 4 seeds in each conference essentially get a bye, bottom 8 have play in 5 game series....I.e. 5 vs 12, 6 vs 11 etc. winners move on to actual playoffs and losers go back in to the lottery. I’m not trying to make the nba more like soccer in any regard. I cannot stand soccer so the last thing I want is to see a league be like them.
Looks like the NYK are looking at former Leon Rose client (now team president) Tom Thibideau. He’s probably my 3rd choice after Mark Jackson or Kenny Atkinson https://www.thescore.com/nba/news/1975511
3 decades later, 3 rings, we’ll be aight. I’m more embarrassed that I actually want the knicks to get good so we can have some kind of rivalry again.
NBA regular season will resume at Disney World on July 31. NBA personnel will move into Coronado Springs resort. An agreement is expected to be reached this week.
Well hope Herro and everyone else is ready to go.. we were out of rhythm when the season ended and were not the same team we started.. time to gel and turn it around.. we should make the playoff competitive against any team in the East.
So watched a little bit of Lakers/Clippers, and to me the game wasn't appreciably different (I only watched like 7 mins of 4th qtr). Though I am interested to see the stats after the rest of the season. Apparently there's some theory (based on soccer results) that home field advantage is removed without fans (kind of moot for NBA since games aren't actually at home/away), but also that players make less flashy plays (that would normally entice the crowd), the're more fundamentally sound/methodical without fans, and that refs call fouls more frequently and with less bias (maybe not the right word, what I mean is they don't hesitate to call fouls on the home team as much as with fans present). Edit: Here's an article about the Bundesliga which resumed without fans (I heard about it on a podcast, I didn't see the article first). https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/01/sports/soccer/soccer-without-fans-germany-data.html
All these games have been incredible so far. Pels/Jazz down time the wire. Same for Lakers/Clips. Grizz/Blazers and Mavs/Rockets go to OT. Celtics/Bucks was a back and forth close game. No positive tests so far. The NBA is doing it right.
Our defense was just ridiculous today... we trapped every lane, had our hands active swatting passes.. we keep our defense like this, no ones going to want to play us because it will be a grind to beat us
Herro needs to be starting over nunn from here on out. I can’t believe how good he’s looking. There’s ice in his veins.
The NBA is just top notch. Really impressed with what they have done. It is easy to forget the games have no fans in the stands.
The Heat are going to have to resign Goran.. I remember many thought we gave up too much for him in a trade.. hes been nothing less than a great fit and has always produced. Im not sure what his valuw is though, and im sure a team like San Antonio would want a guy that resembles Manu’s game.. but we gotta lock him up.
About a couple years too late honestly.. and 76er fans need to embrace mediocrity because they got a bunch of ugly contracts that no one is touching.. especialy Tobias Harris.. hows picking Harris over Butler working out for yall..
there’s a montage of dozens of tweets like this that someone put together. I like to imagine jimmy watching it with a VR headset on every morning.
I simply do not see what not playing will accomplish? Will it sway a random cop from some other small town from having an itchy trigger finger? Nope. My feelings aren't exactly hurt they are not playing, I'm an NBA fan but the hypocrisy with Luka and the hyperbole was a turn off anyways. That Milwaukee/Dallas Finals would've been a good one though!
It was the players, not the NBA. But I’m glad they came to their senses. What exactly was the goal? Was it to force the owners to spend their money in ways the (some) players see fit?
I’m with the players. If fact I support them striking until all instances of racism and violence have been abolished from the world.
Lol. It’s so unfortunate the players have to bring politics into the sport. I am/was really excited for this Heat team’s future. But the players are making me distance myself from watching them. I would really like to see some of the players and the NBA as a whole relay the message for people to raise stable households for their children. How about grandstanding for dads to be more accountable and remain in the lives of their children?
