Not real impressed with what is left in the draft at RB. Is Jordan Howard our workhorse? Does this mean we are thinking about Fournette?

We added a grinding OL with our second round selection. Howard is a big power RB... Do we load on up big boys and pound the rock?

I want to make a trade, but no way on Fournette. I want Breida.

    Slightly left of center
No thanks, I'd rather roll with what we have, maybe get a late cut out of the preseason. There are some interesting vets still out there also. Brieda, Mack may shake loose, David Johnson, if they feel the need

No interest. That's a win-now move which would be completely counter to everything we have been doing in the draft. A highly drafted or highly paid back will be one of the last pieces after our OL is set and QB has had a year.

This year we will rely on Howard and it's hard not to see us take 1-2 guys in the draft. Michael Warren, Deejay Dallas, Eno Benjamin, Josh Kelly or for some interesting possibilities, Malcolm Perry.

I think you have missed the common thread between all the guys that we have drafted - super character guys.

I just don't think Fournette fits that mold. We are still building. The "right guys" matter.

I think fournette is a good dude, its been a tough year for all jaguar players.. they pissed off their best cornerback, pissed off their best defensive end, and fournette..

Ill pass on fournette, he was dominant in college because he was flinging off one future accountant after another.. but hes been average at best as a pro

Two thoughts on drafting a RB, and I'll preface this by saying that I really, really wanted one of the top RB's in the draft in the 2nd round-

Point 1- RB's are seen almost as disposable nowadays in the NFL. Miami has preferred "RB by Committee" for a long time now instead of drafting one stud that can do it all, and it looks like that attitude hasn't changed in 2020.

Point 2- Grier and Flores seem to have a knack for finding hidden gems, so I'm almost thinking at this point that one of our starting RBs next season will come from UFDA. I would guess that it's a lot harder to find a stud CB, S or DT in undrafted guys than it is a RB, hence why we didn't grab anyone.

Again, I don't love this approach but at the end of the day, it comes down to whether or not you trust Flores/Grier has a full plan for the final roster. If you do trust them then there's really nothing to complain about; if you don't trust them then complain all you want until they're fired...but it won't do a bit of good. Either way, RB is on hold and there's not a thing we can do about it.

Meh, Howard is still fairly young. He can be the guy for us. Laird has proven to be a gem, Gaskins could potentially see the field more, and while Ballage has been a disappointment, he was extremely raw when we drafted him. The belief was that it was going to take him a couple years to learn the position. I like where we are at with the tailback position. Of course I wanted Dobbins, but he's a Raven and now a sworn enemy. There are still some interesting names available in the draft, so it's all good.

Man, I was thinking about Ballage yesterday when we kept passing on all those RBs. I don't understand what they see in the guy. He has no vision. The only thing I can think of is if our OL is improved maybe they can create a hole big enough for him to see and run through. There's no doubt that he can take it to the house if he gets to the 2nd level. The problem is, can he get to the 2nd level. I am guessing we will draft a RB or two today.

I'd trade a later round pick for him. Why not? Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

He's redundant with Howard on the team already, and I don't think he fits the character mold that Flores & Grier are clearly focused on in this massive rebuild. He's also not great in the receiving game despite the uptick in volume last season. He's also looking for his first big contract.

Of course, the flip side to that is he's playing for his big contract, so he should ball out this year. I guess it would depend on the asking price.
