    Slightly left of center
Maybe it's just me but I watch that highlightpackage and see a good CB. But I also see an amazing FS, like Earl Thomas good. He closes fast and physical like Earl. If that's what they are doing I REALLY like the pick

nfl offices had him ranked as a 1st rounder, and Grier/Flo said he was BPA (miami herald draft recap interview with grier/flo)

Hopefully he works out. I'm not a big fan of the pick because I dont consider drafting a third corner in the first round to be a smart move, ever.

That said, I have nothing against him as a player so hopefully he works out for us.

If he did end up as a FS I'd like the pick more.

If anything, this pick tells me we are gonna move on from Howard after this year.

The disappointing thing about this first round is I don’t think we have one day one starter.

I think Jackson might end up a starter by default if there is any sort of a camp before we eventually get to a season, and it isnt incredibly short.

I feel like a lot of rookies will have trouble starting immediately this year if a camp situation doesnt get sorted out. There just wont be the chemistry needed with other players.

We may not, and if we move on from Howard it's because his injuries are keeping him off the field. He is making big bucks, but he can't help the club in the tub. It's too bad because he's a really good player. It sucks when your body starts breaking down.

If theres no rookie camp to get these kids ready for NFL type of Power and strength, i dont see many of these rookies become a day 1 starter.. there’s levels to this, and going from college bowl game to Week 1 preseason is a very massive level jump. Hell going from week 1 preseason to week 1 regular season is another gigantic level jump.

Sort of. A lot of team's base is the nickel, so I guess he is like a situational starter.

Anyone here think we should consider getting wild and draft a safety and truly have a "No Fly Zone" in Miami?

A couple of things I heard about him in all the tv chatter. Kiper said he had him as #3 CB. Someone mentioned 19 pass breakups but only 1 int. Former WR because he can't catch the ball.

just like Byron. Now we have $20mm+ and 1 1st rounder invested in 2 corners that don’t get INT’s

I hated the pick UNTIL I watched more film. Dude can play, and likely starts in our Nickel and Dime in the Slot. I also see potential at
FS the way he covers and defends vs the run. Dude is a baller and HIGH character player. A bonus is he can return kicks.

You need a great Nickel CB more than ever in the modern NFL. I still remember games where our nickel/dime CBs were getting toasted as teams stayed away from Madison and Surtain. Two great CBs are just not enough. Plus, would anyone be shocked to see Noah get moved around between Nickel CB and Free Safety as needed?

Finally, it was a late first rounder and we got a fourth rounder on top of it with the trade back. It's not like we spent the #18 pick on him.

Horrible Horrible pick. Even if he turned out to be very good. We already just overpaid 2 CBs LOL. The Dolphins are forever clowns. The guy wasn't even slated to go to the mid to late 2nd from what I read.

When you have so many positions of need. It makes absolutely 0 sense to draft in a position of strength. I would quite literally have chosen any other position other than QB.

Not true. Read up on our defense and how much we play in the nickel. The 3rd CB needs to be as good as the outside guys. He's raw, but in time, he can help us. We are thinking long term. Solid pick!

Yeah, we needed a safety more. And there were 2 good ones on the board. I mean I could literally make a list of all the players that would have been a better choice. But not much point, I realize it's homer day around the league. Nickel DB in the 1st round aye? That's a hard sell. Good luck with that.

Every single pure safety is still on the board. It's clear that Flores and Grier valued Igbinogbene over each and every one.

I think pure safeties aren't highly valued, especially older school thumpers. They want coverage and weapons to deploy against the pass.

Yep. That's me, I admit, I am a homer. I am also a big Flores fan, and I am sure that this pick was a Flores pick. He spent time with the dude, got to know him, and thinks he can coach him up. When it comes to safety, we might take one tonight, but if we don't get a guy Byron Jones has played safety, so there is a possibility that depending on the day he might move there, and the number 3 CB may move outside or another guy will. What this does is gives us versatility. I see value in that over a traditional safety. But, hey, I am just a homer and I know my opinion means jack crap. Just going with the flow and seeing the positive in our picks.

Not that we can with all of our CBs, but I think we are looking for guys who can be DBs. It wasn't Fitzpatrick's cup of tea, but if it were me, I would be honored to say I could play CB, Nickel, and Safety. On a personal note, at work, they move me around to positions of need because I am versatile and they can count on me and know I will do my best. I take a lot of pride in that!

I wouldn't be surprised to see one, but I also think people should prepare for us to NOT get one as well, or at least a high ranked one.

Look at some of the guys we have playing there and it's converted CBs like Rowe and McCain.

I think the secondary is the one place I'll definitely defer to Flores at this point.

Yeah good coverage but needs to turn his head more. In the NFL he will draw a bunch of Pass INT calls.

Wouldn’t that be something. Be able to have three good corners on the field at all times whether we are in run or pass situation, then he shifts to nickel cb and we bring in an extra safety in nickel set. Who does that. That’s a total patriot type pick and......all the analysts love the pick so I’m thinking that pick in that spot and the hunt pick in its spot may have been our best value picks of the draft.
