Huh? Hindsight is 20/20. Too bad Fitzpatrick was being a punk. If you want to blame someone, blame him for forcing a trade.

It's important to keep things in context. We made the Tunsil trade because it was too good to pass up and we wanted to acquire more picks to trade up if need be. I think we did try and trade up for Burrow and Cinci wasn't budging. So, we went with Tua and used our extra pick on Jackson. Yes, from a pure talent standpoint, right now Tunsil is better than Jackson. No one is arguing that, but there are benefits to signing a 1st round pick over having to sign Tunsil to the highest LT contract. We took a gamble and tried to give ourselves some ammo to get the QB of the future. We missed on Burrow, but got a good QB in Tua, without having to trade up and giving away valuable resources. Days ago, people were saying we would have to trade to #3 to get Tua. We didn't have too. We still kept our picks and people are still complaining. [smh]

Would love to see us go after Josh Jones in round 2 and then address DL, RB or S with our other 2nd rounder.

I'd feel better if the picks had been used to get Burrow. That was the original calculation, to use them to get the top QB in the draft.

It takes two to tango. Cinci didn't want to dance. No matter how much you want to, you can't force a team to trade with you. It doesn't make sense to hold this against the Dolphins. We went with plan B. It's gonna be alright.

We were the richest team going into the drsft and i feel like we did not win. I would grade 20 teams easily above us on day 1.

I feel the same way. I don’t think we got one day 1 starter, added a pick at a position where we have more money invested than any team in the NFL already. Jackson’s got potential and Noah I guess will help us move on from Howard and clear cap space down the road.

You guys made a grand slam draft pick with Igbinoghene. He can play S in addition to CB. I bet you he will be All Pro by year 3. In the meantime, he should be an outstanding returner for you as well. Just an absolutely outstanding pick that I would say was the steal of the first round (if it is ever acceptable to say a "steal" was made in the first round...which it is probably the wrong word to use but hopefully you get my drift).

Good luck with the Tua pick. I guess he could be the best player in the entire draft if he remains healthy. He seems like an outstanding person, so I hope he stays healthy and you guys benefit for years to come.

I know nothing about the USC kid, but the draft gurus make you question why Miami took him at that 18th spot. Maybe your folks know what they are doing...but with Igbinoghene and if Tua stays healthy, I would be excited to be you as fans.

Fair assessment. However, we had to draft for need. Maybe next year we can go BPA all the way. We have a lot of holes to fill, so in a way, I am glad we still have 12 pics left.

They kept saying Andrew Thomas was a reach which had me confused as hell... you can tell most of those analyst and a lot of guys on this board dont watch a game of college football other than Alabama..

The best VALUE pick of the night, goes to the Broncos. To get the best receiver in the draft, and possibly best wr prospect since Julio Jones was drafted, in the teens, is just incredible.. it was baffling that Ruggs who i like btw, went ahead of him. Jerry Jeudy should have been a Top 5 pick and as I said 2 days ago, 5 years from now when we play a re-draft he may very well be at #1. He has Larry Fitzgerald/Julio Jones type of aura..

My wish list for the first pick on the second round..

    In no order order:
    JK Dobbins
    Aj Espenesa
    Raekwon Davis
    Justin Madubuike

if we can get Prince Wanogho or Damien Lewis in late second early third via trade id be happy with that too.

It's weird because, for decades, I have always been a huge homer. I have always supported and have tried to find the good in every Phin move. I truly do not like this draft. The first and most important pick, Tua, I really dislike. Along with the injury history and I how I think it will be a problem moving forward at some point. I am not crazy about his personality. He seems strange and I know i am alone on this point, but I don't like this whole god and family thing. It really kind of nauseates me at this point. Enough with that BS. I do not think he will physically last too long in the league. There are several pure football concerns as well. Oh well. Too funked out to type more to further and better explain my point. Maybe another time.

Accuracy is so important in this league. Without it you wind up with Mitch Trubisky or Josh Allen.. Don't get me wrong, I fawn over Allen at times but if you want to win in this league you need an accurate QB. Look at how Allen sh*t the bed in the playoffs when he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn during critical situations. Allen will never lead the Bills to the Super Bowl. Tua, if healthy, can lead Miami to the promised land.

I have ZERO faith in Herbert fixing his mechanics and pocket presence. If he miraculously does and Tua flops, I won't hold it against Grier and Co. They made the right decision.

you’re not alone. I’m not a fan. Don’t love Jackson either. Saw him get manhandled by Espenesa in the bowl game but maybe he’ll develop. Then take a CB with our last pick...

Tua does sound a bit scripted but don't worry, Miami will make mince meat out of him like it did for Wade :)

Wade never had a drink before Miami, now he's rolling deep marrying Gabrielle Union and partying like a rockstar.

Tua is leaving Alabama and his family behind (he said his parents were staying). He's becoming his own man

Peter Schrager, NFL Network: Noah Igbinoghene, CB, Auburn

“The CB no one is talking about as a first-rounder, but who has the versatility to go among the top 32, is my pick for Tennessee at No. 29. Igbinoghene has good size, is lightning fast and can contribute on special teams. He can be the third cornerback in the rotation with Adoree' Jackson and Malcolm Butler in Tennessee. A lot more love for Igbinoghene in NFL circles than in mock drafts.”

I watched plenty of Herbert and Love...

i liked Love in 2018.. 2019 he had nothing to work with, ran for his life all season.. the receivers barely got separation... he had a turnstile offensive line and every week they kept changing their starters.. i dont know what i can make of Jordan after not being able to to showcase, develop or progress in 2019.. im not sure if thats a negative for his NFL career and now he will be sitting behind Aaron for the next 3-5 seasons..

herbert ill tell you right now, i just didnt like him in Oregon.. he has all the physical tools, probably more so than any other quarterback in this draft.. i think his combine secured him a top 10 spot.. but he misfired a lot on potential big plays.. he reminds me of Eli Manning....

though ill say right now, if you were to ask me, of all qbs entering this draft who would i put money on to have the longest career in the NFL. Herbert is my choice. Whether that means he will be a star or a journeyman like ryan fitzpatrick, that i cant say.. but hes the “safest” choice at quarterback.

All this hate on Jackson, but in the 14 picks after him no one stepped up to take Jones. Might be a reason....

I'm not a big believer in college stats. I prefer to use the eyeball test to see how they're playing rather than what the numbers look like. That said, I was never a huge supporter of Herbert, I just liked him more than Tua. And I never wanted to touch Love with a ten foot pole.

I'm anxious about how Tua will play if we use an offense that's very different from what he was in at Alabama. I'm hoping that will be the case.

Tua was a no-brainer pick. Some risk, purely do to injury. Without that and he's in the convo for first overall pick without question. Accuracy, accuracy, accuracy. The big arms of guys like Herbert and Love are nice, but they have some big flaws that are tough to coach out.

Jackson is a top-end talent who had an underwhelming year. However, remember that he had no real offseason and was sapped in the strength department by a bone-marrow operation to save his sister. He's gotta work hard to get his body to a fully NFL level, but the talent is there to be an elite protector. Once the big 4 tackles were off the board as expected, he was a pretty easy call to make.

Igbinoghene is a big and fast corner, a little raw due to a position switch but flashes immense talent and can also immediately be a big impact on special teams. Despite having Jones and X, Iggy will see the field quite a bit due to the prevalence of deep WR corps and heavy passing attacks in today's NFL that predicates lots of nickel and dime packages.

Bonus: All 3 guys are HUGE high motor, high character, leaders. These are Flores people, culture people. Young, talented, some raw spots, but the types of guys that take to coaching and want to compete and be the best. They aren't without risk, but the upside of each is immense.

It's a good draft so far. As always, the real test will be on Sundays and what will happen after year 1. I think it's important to realize that we are NOT in a one year rebuild. Tua is almost certainly not starting, we will trot out Fitz again. We will let the kids develop, compete and get better.

If we don't select 143478097235 linemen or a high level RB, that would probably the reason. Then again, maybe we do. Adding a Jack Driscoll or Matt Peart in the late second/early third wouldn't be amiss for me. Cush and Hennessy are out there. Lots of safeties, lots of RBs, lots of DTs.

Not saying Jones would have been any better. Move up and take Wirfs. Really was hoping Kinlaw would have been there at 18 and then we could take OT/OL at 26 and 2nd round.

No we didn't....this was plan A all along. Everyone else's plan was to get us to overpay for Tua. Our plan was to talk about everyone but Tua, talk about blockbuster trades, then pick Tua with our first pick just like we planned 18 months ago. It's always been the plan and anyone who blocked out all the noise knew that.

I don't think that was an option. Trades at that time were still non-existant, teams were playing it safe with the new format/tech. The one team that ended up moving moved ... one spot. The Niners don't seem to have been excited to drop down to us, and why not, they got Kinlaw to replace Buckner and extra from the Buccos to do it. They didn't need to trade back with us. It's great to demand trades in a vacuum, but if we read what happened, it likely just wasn't there.

    30. Dolphins, CB Noah Igbinoghene, Auburn
Grade: A+. The captain of my Better-Than-Team. I think this pick is outstanding. He's a great press man guy. He tackled 10 times better than I expected from a track guy.
