Is anyone watching? Based on the announcers Im learning so much stout the calls and what teams are trying to do. The Dallas - Houston game was fun to watch. Really like listening in to the coaches.

Nope. My full support is for the NFL, and I strongly believe that all football needs to be controlled by one league. I also don't want to give a second of my time to something run by wrestling.

I watched 2 weeks ago, and if not for the combine I probably would have had it on some this past weekend. There's certainly some interesting stuff, but QB play leaves a lot to be desired.

I actually saw some good play this weekend. I get it from the level of that next level play aspect but what they're doing with the mic's and getting to hear what the plays are supposed to be as they're run is fascinating. For someone who didn't play maybe I have a different outlook. Almost like how Troy Aikman is explaining the game when he announces it adds something. I'm not saying it's the new NFL but it is entertaining.

I like the kick off changes. The going for 1, 2 or 3 takes a little to get used to but it's interesting.

As for one league, I'm hoping that this turns into the developmental league. They're are a lot of players who might bloom and I think if an NFL was smart they would figure out how to get their guys who they want to keep but can't onto a specific squad.

Wait, why does it need to be run by one league?

Do you also dislike arena football and things of that nature? I think it's a good opportunity for guys who are talented but not nfl caliber to play football.

I watched Arena games as a teen when I had a lot more energy and enthusiasm. I have not in about 20 years, and now think that the idea is pretty silly.

If something is clearly a minor league, with no intention of ever crowding in on the NFL's business, players, tv deals, ect, then I have no objection to it. Play in cities that have neither a NFL team or a major college one, and broadcast the games on ESPN2, or CBS's sports channel or something of that nature. Have fun. Give guys who would never have a chance at the pros away to make 30k a year or whatever.

But that's not what the XFL and the others that have sprung up are doing. They want to be big time.

To a degree I agree with you, but IMO the NFL is doing an awful job with the game of Football.

It's getting to the point where I think they need legitimate competition.

I mean, it's getting to a place the rules entirely favor one side of the ball and games end 35-28 or 28-24

    I'd rather watch a 14-10 or 7-0 type game.

And how they announce the games, rules innovation and more interaction with the players and coaches during the game make it interesting.

With the XFL likely forced to suspend their season, I think its fair to wonder if the pandemic kills the league.
