I've been to Turkey many times and Istanbul is one of my favorite cities in the world. I might be a bit biased but, my coffee farm produces coffee equal to any. We roast the beans over cacao wood for a hint of chocolate taste.
Agree about the age but, not having to learn whether a noun is masculine or feminine or neutral and adjusting the adjective to match is a lot more complicated than just having everything neutral.

A lot of the difficulty has to do with what is your native language or other languages you are proficient in.

For example my wife is a native Spanish speaker so she finds learning Japanese much easier than I, a native English speaker, do. Japanese and Spanish have similar pronunciation rules, similar conjugation of verbs.

One of the big issues with English to Japanese or Japanese to English is that the logic of the language is the reverse. English, usually, is “[Main idea] because [reason, reason, reason]”. Japanese uses “[reason, reason, reason] so [conclusion].” One time I had to check the English of a Japanese Philosophy professor’s article that he was submitting for publishing. To put it into “proper” academic English I had to re-write almost every sentence in reverse order to the original manuscript and then reverse the order of each sentence in each paragraph.

It doesn't sell in the US but, I'll be in Fort Lauderdale for a week next month. If you're nearby send me your number and I'll bring an extra bag.

Just looked at yet another mock draft on NFLs website :pity:

When it comes to the quarterbacks in this draft class and the hype on a few of them...not to mention the state of some teams in the league at quarterback, it causes me to scratch my head as to why

Detroit would pass on a QB? Stafford certainly isn’t the answer there...

Jacksonville is a hot mess with Foles folding in Jax and is Minshew really the long term solution?

Camerons days in Carolina are drawing to a close.

Numerous examples and this particular draft has Love falling into New Orleans lap in the bottom 3rd of the draft.

Either NFL teams are lazy and let sports writer puck their draft picks for them...or these writers are as stupid as the day is long

Those mocks are click bait, nothing else. The only 2 picks that are 99%+ certain are Burrow to Cinci and Young to Washington.

Beyond that, who knows, though I'd put Tua to Dolphins at 75% or more likely whether it's with the #5 pick or higher.

Regarding the issue of why teams might not take a QB.. lots of reasons, including the coach maybe trying to win now or just not valuing the QB available at that pick as much as a potentially blue chip player elsewhere. And then you have "stupid decisions by the FO" as a reason. Great example: we pick Jamar Fletcher instead of Brees??? (when almost everyone thought we'd pick Brees lol)

No, it's not an international business. Coffee is very labor intensive. Juan Valdez is a myth. You practically need slave labor to turn a profit. Right now migrant pickers from Nicaragua are flooding the country picking the berries for about 2 dollars for a 5 gallon bucket full. The rest of the year the fields need fertilizer, weeding and, pest control. Only the very big farms can maintain a full time crew and they do that by providing housing and healthcare and paying pennies per hour. The medium and small farms only work if the owner is out in the fields with the help. I'm too old for that (71). Most farms just sell the berries for someone else to process. Processing the beans on the industrial level involves ovens and tumblers, on the gourmet low volume level the beans are slowly sun dried, cleaned, sun dried some more, cleaned again and then roasted, (think Starbucks). Packaging and shipping is just another expensive overhead. My packaging is 15 gallon sacks.

I don't believe most would agree with your assessment that, "Stafford certainly isn’t the answer there..." I think most, including Detroit, see him as a very good QB. I expect that Detroit believes that what they need most is to build the team around Stafford. I think they will target Okudah or Brown. I see Okudah as a perfect fit for them and they will only trade down if they love Brown (also a very good fit) equally and are fine with getting either of them plus more picks. It also makes no sense for them to take the cap hit on Stafford this year. The contract structure sets up to be prohibitive this year but significantly less daunting next year. I think that ownership will make a run with this coaching staff and Stafford and target the next draft to get a QB if they clean house after this year.

I also don't believe that Jacksonville will give up on Foles or Minshew. I think they are more likely also look at next year's draft for their QB if necessary.

I see SD and Carolina as more realistic threats to move up for a QB this season. New stadium and new coach, respectively make them more likely to want to make a splash. That's why I want as much buzz as possible for Herbert and Love as that makes standing pat and getting those guys, should they go the QB route more enticing. Regardless, we have more than enough ammo to trade up if need be. I just prefer not to.

On Detroit, yeah they will roll with Stafford unless his back injury is way worse than reported. Both the GM and Coach were brought back after two disappointing seasons with a mandate to win and make a playoff run. Stafford - if healthy - represents their best chance at that. He was having arguably his best season before he was hurt, and they have talent at the WR spot. A better running game and some defensive improvement and better health is what they will bank on. If it crumbles, yeah they will likely can Quinn and Patricia after the season, cut Stafford (Raf nailed the contract issues with him) and let big contracts expire and have a new staff draft a QB and start a reload.

That said, if Stafford's back isn't looking great, it's possible they target a QB. I am going to guess we will hear a fair amount of smoke regarding him, in order for Detroit to try and drive a trade war. I saw in an article that moving from 6 to 3 is exactly what the Jests did for Darnold a few years back and got a very nice haul for it. Just depends on how desperate we think the Chargers are imo.

As for Stafford, Detroit’s been “building” for the last decade or so with at least top 10 and even top 5 draft picks. It ain’t working.

Scuttlebutt I hear in Jacksonville is Foles is done. That’s a move Shah Khan wishes he never made

Actually, this is a big Myth. The US ranks middle of the pack in terms of social mobility. If you are born poor in a western european or scandinavian country, or in an asian country like Japan or South Korea. You have a much better chance of making it out of poverty and into the middle class or becoming rich in your lifetime than if you were born poor in the Unites States.

Look up the social mobility rankings. The US has not led the world in those rankings since the 60s.

If you compare the US to a developing 3rd world country then yes the poor are better off here, but compared to most other developed nations the US ranks comparitively low.

You are thinking long term, but the GM and coach in place currently don't have long-term security. Who will help them win and stay employed more this year specifically - Tua or Okudah? It's the latter. Frankly, Patricia is a garbage coach and should have been fired, but that's the Lions. 9-7 wasn't "good enough" under Jim Caldwell but let's give the fat rocket scientist guy a pass.

While I 100% agree with you, I think you have the American part backwards. Over 99% of our society gets a job, works hard and wonders why they never become a CEO, independently wealthy or a well-known celebrity. The answer is because they did exactly as their parents did and followed American standards- you go to school, get a job, maybe go to college and then you work hard in that field until you retire. That's a very tough path though to rise to the top of your field because you have to be the brightest and the hardest worker to get there.

Foreigners, on the other hand, come here with nothing and see massive opportunity. They get jobs, sure, but they also know that it's a stepping stone to something greater. Most of these folks didn't grow up with wealth so they're frugal, they work hard and learn everything they can about business and entrepreneurship...and it's a different mindset because they don't have friends and family telling them it's a bad idea to dream big, takes risks, etc. In their spare time, foreigners find ways to get ahead while we go to bars, play video games and hang out with friends.

Simply put, foreigners have the potential to do better because they don't take anything for granted and they often work harder than their American counterparts to achieve their dreams. Anyone can do anything in America, that's absolutely true...but the part most people never realize is that most of the huge success stories out there (native or foreign) also came after years of 24/7 grinding, learning and self improvement.

Most people just don't want it badly enough and they have a support system based on 8 hour workdays, weekends and holidays off, a great vacation every year, a big mortgage and car payments, etc. Meanwhile, the ultimate success route is staying single, living in a cheap apartment, working three jobs, ride a bike to work, saving every penny and still finding enough time to study and reflect on opportunities.

None of that refutes his assertion that what is the biggest difference is the amount of work that foreign born people will do as compared to native born Americans.

Eh, whats not working is the coaching, ownership and GM in place... But especially Patricia isnt working... hes trying his best to do a Belichick impersonation, but not the coaching side, he impersonates his cadence, the way Bill talks and treats the media. That does nothing at the football field which he isnt good at either as far as coaching goes

Yup. A favorite moment was his fat *** in a sweatsuit and backwards hat lambasting a local beat reporter who had the temerity to ask a somewhat challenging question for slouching in a chair.

He's also shown an inability to accept blame or adapt his scheme to players or to any game situation. They led the league in having 2-3 rushers only. Not coincidentally, they sucked major ***. He needs to fix himself before he can fix that team lol. He has provided me an interesting reference point to Flores though. So far ... Flores every day and twice on Sunday.

Correct me if I’m wrong but when that same argument was used to explain how poorly Miami has been, wasn’t the counter that it was that Tannehill sucked?

Not saying YOU per day made this argument (not sure whether or not you did)
