This is a much more dangerous offense now. Aside from Tebow and the OL, UF can trot out a line up of 4.4 or better all the way across, and have more on the sideline. This offense is just more explosive. The home run hitters are everywhere. It will be disaster if they focus on Tebow.

Re Mich game: I'm still pissed we had Tebow just standing back there in the pocket. If things are played that way against anyone this year, I want him running, and running. Not like his normal running, but Vince Young QB draw/one read and run stuff. If they had done that just a little against Mich, it would have been a different game.

Just a small note: On NFL Network Mark Mayock said that he had Louis Murphy as his no. 1 rated senior wr.

    I can't believe I didn't realize he was a senior

There are some really big expectations out of Gainesville for him this year though.

Well, definitely didn't play as strong as we are capable of playing IMO. Game was alot closer than I thought it would be, credit to the Miami DC he had a good gamplan. Mullen really frustrates me sometimes with his play calling. Those read options were clearly not working. Good to see them get the ball to James in space, we need to do the same with Rainey and Demps. Defense showed up and looked pretty good. Hopefully we were still holding back on the playbook for SEC play.

    GREAT to see Percy back!

Good game between both teams. Displayed good defensive by both. Congratulations on the win. I still think that "catch" was BS but its history now and you guys won. Good job.

Why didnt they bounce of any runs to the outside? Clearly after the first few times that running Tebow up the middle didnt work you would think a counter or a sweep would have been called.

Good game. I wish that call hadn't been made because it took away our last real chances to win such a tough game, but you probably would have won it anyway. If this game was next season instead I think things might have been a bit different.

Hopefully we won't have to wait until 2013 and get a UF vs UM national championship game in 2009/10

I thought Miami played well, but I also thought the UF coaching staff had a very vanilla game plan. From not blitzing much until late (you were using that qb bootleg and killing us for like 3+ quarters) all the way to on offense not using quick slants and wr screens until the fourth. After the first series where we pretty much moved at will, I think the UF coaches went conservative. Granted, part of it was bc UM was playing good D, the other part is I think UF just felt our D was holding your offense in check so not to risk a turnover or momentum shift.

Will Miami's defense have any impact on UF's remaining opponents? What I mean is that we gave Tebow and company a lot of different formations. I don't know if he saw the same defensive play/formation more than once in the whole game. Will teams such as LSU who have a good defense, mix up it as well to slow down Tebow? Could it be a problem for you guys?

 You guys are looking for any kind of good news after that game huh?

They definitely gave him some different looks, not quite every play that'd be nearly impossible. I'm not sure its anything new though, they clearly took a page out of Michigan's book from the bowl game. I'm sure we'll see some of the same down the road against LSU, Georgia, etc...

I guess that low class field goal at the end of the game helped out. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Gator fans, but your coach can get bent.:shifty:

As Spurrier once said, "Our job is to score, their job is to stop us."

Shannon wouldn't have taken a knee on the 15 yardline.

    You play to the whistle.

In this BCS system style points are important, unfortunately. Had it been the other way around I'm sure we would have seen plenty of gloating.

I'm sure the reason for the field goal was for points and rankings, othewise it would have been pointless. You guys got a good team Motion, congrats.

I'll be the first one to say I was a bit skeptical as to the reason for the late FG. I'll say one thing I am sure VEGAS HATED it. Took the game from 20 pts to 23 on a 21 pt spread!

Lol, no I'm just interested to see how Tebow plays the rest of the season. I absolutely hate the Gators and want them to fail. I hate Tebow on the field. Off the field, its hard to hate him.

He's almost a reincarnation of Danny Wuerffel. Heisman winning National Championship Gator qb. Very religious and does ministry work.

 I understand the Gator hate, we are rivals after all but its good to see people respect Tebow as a person. Thats what I really have a hard time dealing with when people bash him. Can't ask for a better role model or all around person.

I definitely think we have a tough road ahead with LSU, Georgia, etc.. The Oline will definitely have to step up and hopefully the playcalling improves as well. I'm still holding out hope that we've been holding back for SEC conference play because we've been very vanilla on offense these first 2 games.

Yeah. While watching the UF vs :theu: game, they were showing how Tebow went to several different places in Africa and Asia I think it was. That's awesome of him.

Btw, go read in the Hurricanes thread about your boy Urban Cryer..er.. Meyer.

Anyone hear what is up with Moody? Why he did not play in the UM game? Is he still hurt from Hawaii?

In other news, Florida defensive end Jermaine Cunningham, was named SEC defensive lineman of the week by the league office on Monday.

Cunningham had nine total tackles (five solos) with two for losses (-10 yards), including a sack (-8 yards) in Florida’s 23-3 win against Miami.

The Gator defense held Miami to three points, the fewest the Gators have allowed the Hurricanes since 1960 (UF, 18-0).

The Gator defense held the Hurricanes to just 140 yards of total offense and forced nine punts.

hmmm, I think we're going to need him. Our only other running back that isn't the size of a flea is Moore. Uninspiring to say the least, and there is no doubt that he has the fumbling tendency.
I'd like to get Moody battle tested before giving up on him. His presence could allow us to use Demps/Rainey in a role similar to Noel Devine for WV last year coming from the slot.
