How much organized sports did you play, and at what level? You play to win. Every. Damn. Game. You start playing players who don't give you the best shot at winning, and you start to instill a losing culture. I understand what you're saying, and it makes sense on the surface. It doesn't make sense in reality, though.
Well, we move up to pick #3 I believe. Plus the Giants and Redskins still have a game to play so maybe the Giants pick up another win from that. At best, I think Miami can get to the #2 pick.
We are not winning any other game this season no matter how hard we try.. there is no perfect scenario or gameplan for another victory against any remaining opponent... this team showed progression, then the injuries started piling up, and now we look look like the Week 1 dolphins
We still play the Bengals and Giants. I hope you're right for draft position sake, but I fear you might not be.
The bengals are playing better than we are at this point... all these injuries on our secondary and other key areas has made us look sloppier than ever..
Not losing a locker room while making decisions that aren't in the best interest of the team winning. Players don't care about how good the team is a year or two from now.
Even more reason why they don't care about anything other than winning the game they're playing today.
All the more reason NOT to care how they feel about who gets to start at QB, etc.. Do your job, play well, and you'll still be around as the talent is upgraded over the next few years. Marginal players will gone, no matter their feelings.
As a player of course. Even as a coach I guess that is true. That said, these wins arent building a winning culture. They are mainly just holding us back. I'd rather have started building a winning culture next season considering 99% of these players will be gone in a year or two and replaced.
Again, I don't disagree with that necessarily...but I feel like it has to be done like we did this year. The GM purges the roster, and the coach just doesn't have the talent to win games. However, the coach is still trying to win...which is exactly why Fitz is starting.
Also as frustrated with it as I may seem, it's not like I dont get a smile when we play well. It just gives me future anxiety lol I'd probably be kinda pissed if the players didnt want to win. That said, it's a bit frustrating as a fan when you trade a serious pick for a guy, then dont really give him much chance to show anything. He had an awful game but at the same time...his others gave me some hope regardless of the stat line in the way he played. Winning is important but sometimes so is knowing what you have. That said, maybe behind the scenes he isnt doing well. Who knows.
By all accounts, Rosen is doing everything correctly behind the scenes, so we may well reap the benefit later. The other thing is, he has time on his side, as he is still younger than a couple of the QB's coming out this year but with 2 year's experience (with a year in O'Shea's system)
