All of the position groups, in this defense, we'll get the chance to pick up the slack, especially the defensive backs and linebackers.

LOL, he was among the highest graded in pre-season for the Dolphins? Yeah, then he has to go...definitely fire his ***! We'd much rather have someone like Crawford that's not top-3 material!

By the season opener, I'm going to be like Peyton Manning just calling players by jersey number. There's really no point in trying to remember anyone's name since they'll probably be cut next week anyway.

Edge defenders in this defense need to be able to cover(to make it at OLB), or need to be able to kick inside to 3-technique(to make it at DE). Orchard couldn't really do either.

Having all of one true OLB(Van Ginkel) meant that Orchard being just a wide-only defender was OK for a while, but suddenly getting Vince Biegel and Avery Moss off of waivers and AVG becoming healthy again made Orchard's issues a bit more key.

I honestly worry what message this sends to the team. Work your *** off and perform and we just might cut you!

I agree. Flores said that the team is buying in but we really need to see a few games to know for sure. I mean, what's the point this season? You could work your *** off and still be cut next year (or next week) since you know they're upgrading everything.

I think we have about 4 "safe" people on the roster at this point- Minkah, Howard, Baker and Grant. Everyone else should be really freaking nervous for the next four months and that's a horrible message to send to your team. I'm worried a lot of these "scab players" will just give up entirely once we take a few brutal losses...and if so then things are going to get really ugly in a hurry.

Here's another thing to think about- we added two scrub edge rushers this past weekend that haven't practiced a single day with the team. You cut Orchard and keep two unproven guys? That's absolutely insane.

I’d probably put Wilkins in that category since that’s their boy and fits all their check marks

I must have missed the memo that Orchard was the next Lawrence Taylor. Patrick Graham must know what Crawford brings to the table, as he was the Packers LB coach last year, so must feel that he can do the job he wants a LB to do in this scheme. It's all about scheme fit guys - how much of Orchard's production was against 2nd & 3rd teamers in the preseason as well?
We all know what the mantra is - do your job!

I didn't want to say anything until it is official, but my agent called last night to let me know the Dolphins have cut one of their water boys. Since the qualifications aren’t to extensive ( I think you need to just be breathing) I am hopeful that they will make an offer...;-)

The fact you've been proactive in looking at this, and have an agent, clearly means you're too talented for the job. If you check the small print I think the water boy needs to be contaminating the water or failing to give it to players.

I dont know man...pretty sure Minkah is currently the 2nd string safety. Grier might have an allegiance to him but Flores don't. Im sure they are going to work him in somewhere at safety or slot but for a 1st round pick last year he cant crack one of the 5 starting DB spots even after they cut TJ McDonald... no one is safe around here anymore lol

All of these “The Sky” is falling posts are comical. Our high paid front office is clueless, and the head coach who has been brought from ground up through the Patriots .Org have no clue what they are doing. Absolute idiots. The guy who saw the patriots rebuild from day one has no clue what he is doing.

I mean the guy obviously has no clue how to put together a defense letting go of all these top pre season all stars who are one dimensional. Shoot we have a 53 man roster we can have a DT for every offensive set. Plenty of room. We will never get beat on the ground or through the air.

I am ecstatic for the change. No matter what it brings over the next 3-4 years, we know one thing. Do the same crap with the same players inserting coach after coach would not change an effin thing.

I obviously, in the minority, applauded the dynamic bold moves and relish the day when Flores stands up with the Lombardi and says, how ya like me now.... it’s gonna happen. This guy is a rare bird and the fact they are letting him do this is even more a rarity. Top down is bought in and I am too. I’m excited for the season no matter what the record ends up being. It’s refreshing and a long time coming.
