Excellent! This will be the first summer I've had broadband since 2005, so its a good time for them to start!
It really surprises me. They talk about expanding into an international market etc. but then the limitations/expense on viewing games is highly restrictive.
Hopefully, a lot of this will change soon. The league is still playing chicken with DirecTV and Sunday Ticket, and the possibility still exists that someone else will carry regular season games via the internet as early as 2020. If and when that happens, I would hope that the preseason will be a part of it too.
Their internet offering is the only option internationally (legally, anyway), but they actively reduced the choice forcing a higher price tag. They used to offer: Red Zone (Game highlights etc) Follow Your Team (All reg. season games for one team only) Everything - (All reg. season games for all teams and Red Zone). They eliminated that second option so you get everything or just highlights. Presumably it's because most people just want to follow one team so fewer people would pay for the full package. But surely that should tell them something - stop forcing people to pay for content they don't want. I haven't the interest to watch every single NFL game, or even a quarter of them, and even if I did I wouldn't have the time. So it's hardly good value is it? It's like going to the grocery shop and having to buy a mega-jumbo size sack of 200 apples for $50 (25c an apple) when all I want is one apple and I'm happy to pay 75c for one good apple. If it's all those commentators that cost so much, maybe they think about just selling the live stream of the game footage more openly and let others produce the commentary/content.
It doesn't look like I can stream the game tonight- they're telling me to go buy NFL GamePass. Can anyone verify that they are streaming on the Fins site in Miami? Is so, I'll set up a quick VPN so I'm suddenly in Miami too!
It looks like only folks in Miami can stream the games online at the Dolphins site, and I tried four different VPN solutions last night to no avail. I also tried to order the trial of GamePass but their credit card servers were down....so that was out. Someone did eventually share a link with me though and I watched from when Rosen took over. The past two seasons, I watched on NFL GamePass with four different trial subscriptions. You can use the same email/info each time but it has to be a card you never used there before.
Quick heads up guys - ThePhins.com do not permit the selling of goods and services on the forums, nor illegal streams. I hope you understand. Thanks G.
I couldn't watch any preseason games last night with DirecTV cause of this stupid dispute they're in.
