Glad someone likes that contract smh. At least hes under the usual 35 year threshhold of bullish we normally sign
But it's not the same team. You can feel how you want about this, but this team won't make it any further than the 2nd round. The Warriors lost two elite players, and a key role player, and replaced them with a borderline all-star that doesn't play much defense.
Yeah, it's in flux because of the confusion/disagreement between Miami and Dallas. Both the Heat and 76ers have to be really motivated to make it work at this point, but they may need to find a new third team.
Jimmy butler has a YouTube channel with a vlog on his free agency Dude didn’t want to be in Houston because the humid *** weather and because he won’t live in the city and he has to commute...I don’t know about Miami traffic but Houston traffic is no joke
Miami’s obviously motivated to get a star player that fits in perfectly with our culture. I’d say philly should be pretty motivated to get a damn good player on a good contract rather than Jimmy going to LA and them not getting ****.
Can we please get some more insight into these Bradley Beal rumors? Holy hell my balls are blue and my lower back is in pain. He’s an UFA in 2021, this would be perfect for the next 2 years. Any rumors on what Washington wants from us? They should be tanking hard.
In Miami he would be living in brickell/beach areas/coral gables at the very worst... traffic to the arena is minimal in those areas lol...
Dallas knew exactly what they were getting. They got cute last minute, pulled a deal they had already agreed on off the table.
The deal gets done regardless, probably directly with Philadelphia now and theyre gonna ask for another player most likely... you can expect a homecoming of Dion in Philly... not a good look for Dallas on future transactions within the league..
What exactly are the Knicks doing with all these FA pickups. Isn't the next draft the high school eligible draft? That draft is going to be loaded. I would think they would want to tank for another year. Instead, with all these two year contracts it looks like they are targeting Giannis in two years
Is it fair to really appreciate what Memphis has done this off season? They turned Mike Conley into Kyle Korver, Jae Crowder, Grayson Allen, Brandon Clarke (via draft), a future 1st rounder from Utah, a lightly-protected future 1st from Golden State, and now Andre Iguodala. Of course they also picked up Ja Morant.
Well Wayne Ellington just sign 2/16m. But Ellington, Gibson, Portis, and Reggie Bullock are all 1+1 deals i.e. 1 year + option. Randle is the only one with an actual 2 year deal (2 years and 3rd year team option). We had no power forwards, now we have 3. They’re looking to strengthen the rotation which makes some sense, stack some short term contracts (in case a deal comes along), and for once doing the intelligent thing and going young. These guys, except Randle and maybe Portis, are not long term answers and I think they know that. However as you saw this year with Memphis and New Orleans moving all the way up, there’s no real benefit to tanking. 14% is not great odds for the first pick yet that’s all you get if you have the worst record. The best thing they can do is rehab their image, draft some players people want to come play with and revisit free agency next year (they will have a max slot) or in two years when again they could have a max slot. Eventually they will get someone, but you have to build it first as you saw.
Hell no... 38m 41m 44m 47m in 2023 I rather trade an expiring to houston for cp3 than take that gross contract..
Meh, it's the East and Brooklyn won't be a powerhouse until 20/21.. If Kawhi leaves it is Philadelphia imo as the fav with a significant drop off after that. Not that they are a threat to win the East but if RJ is as good as we HOPE a mid seed in the playoffs is not a dream. Pretty crappy expectations but here we are.
It only makes sense if youre a Mavericks fan... cuban used to have Don Nelson as head coach who once had Corey Magette as his starting center...
Miami is finalizing a trade to send center Hassan Whiteside to Portland for Mo Harkless and Meyers Leonard, league sources tell ESPN. Per woj. There goes Whiteside
Mo Harkless and Meyers Leonard both expire this season. Riley just turned a giant expiring into two decent trade chips which are both expiring.
Do you want to make the playoffs now. I would think you would want another year or two of drafting high
Good riddance to Whiteside. Lasting memory of him will be him quitting in the playoffs against Embiid last year.
They also saved money, and have two potential replacements for KO and DJJ. I'm not sure that Riley will want to give in to Dallas, but that deal now works, I believe.
I personally absolutely LOVE playoff basketball when my team is actually in it. At this point I have no delusion the Knicks will even win the East in the next 4-5 years.....so I’ll take any excitement I can get.
Yeah I'm told the Heat won't want that KO/DJJ deal even though it works now. They wanted to unload Goran Dragic. Unclear to me whether this move itself opens the gate for the Butler deal or if there has to be another step. The NBA salary cap is too byzantine for me to bother trying to figure it out.
Yeah, the NBA salary cap is impossible to understand. I try to follow what Albert Nahmad says, to get the best idea. This was what he said: So it sounds like they would still have to get another player involved in a three way deal including JRich, or JRich and KO, depending on the player.
Meyers Leonard would make a fair replacement for Kelly Olynyk, if it comes down to that. It's taken him a while but he only just now started to look pretty decent (Leonard). I would hope they can move Mo Harkless, though that might be too much to ask.
I never want to count them out but it's really hard to see if they are having trouble closing this Butler deal how they're going to also manage to close a Beal trade as well. And to do it, they'd have to take on that horrendous John Wall contract, which frankly makes you wonder if they should do it.
It’s going to be glorious not having to see Whiteside’s overpaid, sulking face in Miami. Fantastic offseason so far.
Helllllllllllllll no... and believe me washington would take on any contract we have now to get rid of Walls contract... Theyll take dion, jj, olynyk, anderson, dragic just to get rid of John Wall... that contract is easily the worst in the NBA...
Wow, I guess Austin Rivers wasn't kidding when he said he loved it here. Huge discount re-signing at vet signing. Rockets went 42-15 after getting him last year. Was probably our 4th best player in the playoffs besides Harden, Gordon, and Tucker. We still have the MLE to spend. We need another power forward.
If Fizdale is as good as I think, he can take this Knicks roster to a 6-8 seed in the east. That roster the Knicks are putting together is not bad at all. I know you guys like Mitchell Robinson, but he would not be seeing many minutes if I were the coach. Bobby Portis can easily average 20 &10 with 33+ minutes per game at Center.
