For announcements and tweets about the Dolphins in the 2019 draft and responses. Fyi - I won't be posting tweets throughout tonight because outs it's a very late start over the pond here and I expect a lot of trading back, so I'm going to be in bed for most of it - I have work tomorrow morning!
Just listened to this clip of Adam Beasley on the Dolphins trading out of 13 and using that draft capital (the 3rd round pick) to trade for Rosen. Of course the other part is taking J. Simmons which I think is a horrible idea and a waste of a pick. IMO the Fins should go Oline best or Clelin Ferrell. Video below.
^This^ Always used to book 'Superbowl Monday' off work to stay up and watch the SB the night before but it's all gotten a bit 'meh' for me now. This year, like last year, I've booked 'Draft Friday' off, so I'll be staying up until stupid-o'clock to see us bag that franchise punter.... or summat.
I don't have a clue what the Dolphins are going to do in this draft. They have needs everywhere. A trade back out of 13 makes a ton of sense unless someone is unexpectedly there that they value highly. I kep hearing this stuff about Rosen and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I liked Rosen a lot in last years draft but he had a really rough year last year. Then again that was about as bad a situation a young qb could have been in. Anyway, I have no clue. This is the first time in years that I am completely out of touch with who the best prospects even are.
One thing to add, I think it was Flores, maybe Grier, back in February that made the statement, "I'd rather have two really good players instead of one great one". That sounds like a very Patriotesque thing to say. Something to keep in mind as this draft plays out.
I have a feeling this draft is going to upset me if we pass on a Franchise QB this year and go with a trade back and look toward next year. There is no guarantees next year. Our top target might get hurt, we may win 5-6 games with Fitzmagic and be out of contention. If there is a QB that we have rated as a franchise and do t get him by any means I will be upset. Regardless if we get two picks next year for it
First pick - I always wonder why it takes so long unless it's a trade... and it rarely is. Just pick the guy you should already have decided on guys...
I always presume they're told by the NFL to hold off. Try and drum up some intrigue that they might be trading it late on.
Seems pointless in a year like this though where we've all known who the first pick would be since about February.
Why not keep him? Bottom line is you want a franchise QB - why gamble? Take both, develop both, see what happens.
Someone will get desperate. There'll be an injury in camp or early season and someone will decide that Rosen will keep them competitive. In fact they'll probably pay more than now. 49ers not wasting time to get Bosa.
