Only five penalties, which is an improvement. But five fumbles...OUCH! We all know tonight was just about getting a look at the margins, so I guess its not that bad. Henne had good stats. I am looking forward to this season. FINALLY, I think we are truly getting better as a franchise. Its obvious to anyone with even a bit of sense that this team is only going to get better. And thats a great thing. I've said it many times before and I'll repeat it here...It is a great time to be a Fins fan. The next five years are going to be some of the best in our teams history...I sincerely believe that.
1. get off the field on 3rd down 2. less penalties this was my wish-list. following game 4 and looking back, I think we've made tremendous strides. lets hope it carries over into the regular season. but we cant put the ball on the ground 5 times. thats putrid...even if we recover 4 of em.
We are getting better Suncoast. I can't wait till we upset the jets. Our D looks good and our running game is solid. Our QB is improved. No reason we should be blown out of any games this year.
Keep in mind that both the penalty and turnover stats are more or less meaningless, since our starters were only in there for a very brief time. I think we'll have to withhold judgment on whether or not we've improved in those two categories until the regular seasons rolls around.
I would agree. There is still a lot to be proven, but the sense of purpose and influx of talent so far seems to be quite a bit beyond what we have witnessed in quite awhile.
Henne did have two turnovers, which isn't that great, but he did rebound very nicely from the stats and accounts on here. 3 sacks, was it protection problems last night with the second and third team oline? I know the first sack was a bit of both from the replay I saw.
I agree. While we may not win a lot of games this year, I have confidence in our front office for the first time since JJ was coach (and that didn't last long). Parcells, Ireland and Sparano are building this team the right way, starting at the trenches.
Seems that for the first time in a long, long time we have fewer questions than we have answers. I am truly amazed at how many needs were addressed this year in the draft and free agency. We finally have an offensive line we can be proud of and a quarterback that knows what and what not to do with the football. We not only have a solid interim quarterback but also the future quarterback on the sidelines. One of the best things to come out of this is that we have a very young team for the most part and a solid foundation to build on.
I was such a proud fan last night, watching our team all getting in on the 'Crank' is a lot of fun..thats what changing a culture is all about, we have an identity of toughness and passion and iam loving it.
I disagree. Penalties and turnovers are part of a culture, starters and backups. Every facet of this team needs to know how important it is to avoid penalties and turnovers. When the starters see the backups not turn the ball over and not make stupid presnap penalties, it helps the entire team.
