So the Dolphins are blowing it up. Sort of. Maybe. At least to some extent. More or less. We know we'll have a new head coach, we just don't know who. We might have a new quarterback. Or not. Chances are the coaching staff will be changed. At least some of them. Whatever happens, we're likely to see a different approach to our offense and defense. A new Miami...again. On the one hand, there will be new coaches, new players, new draft picks, new strategy to analyse and look forward to. There'll be interviews and tape reviews, discussions and projections. On the other hand, for all the newness, there will be the same platitudes, "Just want to help the team win", "I'm ready to do whatever is needed to help the team win", "The best man will get the job", "We've got a good set of guys" etc. Depending on your personality type, your reaction to all this might be different. You might be one of these guys: The again, maybe you're more... Or maybe you're in the middle somewhere, a die-hard fan but you have to be honest: So Dolphins fans - which one are you (or something else)? And what will be your approach, or coping strategy, for the year ahead. Do you tend towards being able to hit the reset button and see how things go with hope, or is the fatigue mounting and you tend to see things as one long continuation? Maybe you feel like the Dolphins FO is like: Post your gifs and comments. And do try to keep a smile on your face. After all, it's always sunny in Miami...
No matter who we hire, when they start spewing things are going to be this or that, I will believe it when I see it...
What I'm dreading the most is that all the people who screamed at the top of their lungs that Gase needs to be fired will also be the same people who, after everything gets blown up, will be angry that we went 3-13 the first season and will begin to scream that we need to fire <insert coach we just hired>. We have very little patience as a fan base, and we wonder why the team keeps trying to win via free agency instead of the draft.
I think you just described America. Most of us (including me) are selfish and spoiled, and don't understand the concept of delayed gratification.
Yes, we might do well to remember that sometimes our debates on here might sounds quite a bit like: And of course...
That's why I usually stay away from it all and the discussion over that period of time. Once you've seen/heard it once you've seen/heard it a million times.
Kudos to the OP for taking a frustrating and often times disheartening situation(being a Miami fun) and having some fun with it. I’m the cat getting hit by the toy train fwiw
