Favre has looked really good this pre-season. He has had the highest pre-season QB rating of his career, by a large margin. Stlil expecting nine or ten wins out of the Jets.

Agreed. I am thinking 9 or 10. 9 gets us golf in the post-season, 10 gives us a chance at a wildcard spot so hoping for 10.

Yeah - I'm not saying it can't happen but I'm just hoping it won't and remember my best friend is a Jets fan.

Favre has looked great in both starts and would've put up more points if it weren't for the moronic mistakes by the Tight Ends and Lineman.

    14-18, 144 yards, TD.

11 wins huh? Well last years prediction was 9-7. You were off by 5 wins, therefore simple logic tells us the Jets 2008 record will he 6-10. BOOK IT! :)

buddy...you are primed and ready for a devastating season.

you need to temper your enthusiasm following a 4-12 season.

you have no business thinking the Jets could be contenders and a 10-12 win team. and whats worse, with all the outrageous spending, and trying to force players into positions that they may or may not be successful in, you guys and the mangini era could be heading towards catastrophe if this splurge doesnt pay off.

id be scared if Im a Jet fan.

A 4-12 season that should've had at least another three wins if it wern't for your new signal caller making critical mistakes in the fourth quarter early on in the season.

I am one who does not buy into the philosophy that "you are what your record says you are". Horse****. Injuries happen as do dropoffs. **** happens. The 2007 Jets were better than a 4-12 team and have upgraded tremendoulsy in each and every question they had entering the 2008 Offseason except #2 Cornerback.

This team along with its schedule has no business being any worse than 10-6. No, not with Favre, Faneca, Pace, Jenkins, Richardson, Gholston, Keller and Lowery in house. No. Not acceptable.

you're on a message board for a team that lost 7 games by 3 points or less, including one to the eventual superbowl champions. 4 games you "should've won", 7 games we could've won. hey, were both 8-8 by that logic! wanna talk injuries...seriously? we lost 5 DBs for the season. lost our best player by a mile(ronnie brown) for the season. lost our 2nd best player for the last decade for the season (zack). Ricky comes in for one game, and we lose him. lost our starting QB for the season(you think there isn't a difference between Trent Green and Cleo Lemon?). and i know im leaving more people out.
yet all anyone can do is point and laugh at the Dolphins going into this season? Its a bunch of narrow minded Deion Sanders out there...Miami 1-15 last year. thats all anyone cares about. no regard for the details. because you are you record. its about results. we'll see what happens, and who was better than their record last year. and by how much. im just warning you, these huge FA signings, and your entire coaching staff and front office have been reckless and desperate. you cant force square pegs into round holes. i think you're primed for a huge disappointment this year if you actually expect to win 10 games and contend for anything.

How are the Jets forcing square pegs into round holes, HOW!? That is what they've been doing before by trying to use Jonathan Vilma and Dewayne Robertson in the defense. Kris Jenkins is a major improvement and Vilma not being here being a distraction is a blessing. Calvin Pace is a protypical 34 Outside Linebacker who had his best season last year in his first year in the system in Arizona. Is he worth the $ he received? No, but what NFL player is nowadays?

Alan Faneca at 31 is not old, not for an Offensive Lineman, by any means. Still has at the very LEAST two great years left in that body and Damien Woody was benched at RG, not RT, where he played against some very good defenses in those five games at RT and did not surrender a sack.

And lastly, Brett Favre is handling the playbook quite nicely. Before his first game he already had 30 plays down. 30 in a week. By Opening Day he'll have 100+ with ease and you don't need 3,000 plays to be a successful team in this league.

Why shouldn't the Jets fans expect to go from 4-12 to 10-6 or better? We lost I believe six or seven of our games by a touchdown or less. This team is much, much better than last years. Miami's team is better than last years on offense, but on defense. You lost Thomas and Taylor and replaced them with nobodys in Ayodle and who replacing Taylor? Matt Roth? Kendall Langford?

We'll see. And you sir will definitely see when the Jets are at worst 10-6 in 2008. You let your hatred view your image of the Jets way too much.

its true....i do hate the Jets.

But if Miami was in the over-paying business, Calvin Pace would be a Dolphin. He's simply not good enough to warrant the contract the Jets gave him, and you'll see that on sundays. You broke the bank on 2 o-lineman that won't really guarantee success for that unit. they just went out and paid for the big names. jenkins as a 3-4 NT is totally a square peg in the round hole. injury prone, life-time 4-3 dt, with no contingency plan for his imminent absence. and an erratic Favre, who has the ability to destroy a game, as much as he has the ability to save the day, sets your franchise back years as there is no future plan for the most important position on your team.

manigini and the organization wreak of desperation. forget this year, what about 2 years from now, where will your franchise be with all these monster salaries for old and injury prone and unproven vets?

im just saying..after a play-off run and the "mangenius" 1st season, werent you very disappointed last year going 4-12? temper your enthusiam man, thats all. you guys ain't the Chargers, Patriots or Colts. nowhere near good enough to expect that team to produce a minimum of 10 W's. not from your players through your coaches and front office are you good enough to expect that.

I'm not saying we are the Colts, Patriots or Chargers, all teams that should have 12+ wins with ease. But yes, we should have 10 wins easily. We should. Our schedule is in the bottom 10 of easiest schedules (26th? 27th?), we have a very weak home schedule when you take out the Patriots and Bills and the team has some very good players in Favre, Washington, Cotchery, Coles, Solid OLine, Solid DLine, Harris, Pace, Rhodes & Revis.

But back tracking a little, of course I was disappointed last season. We lost a lot of close games due to Chad Pennington, injuries and just balls not bouncing our way that bounced our way many of the time in 2006. Mangini was "Mangenious" in 2006 and a lot of Jets fans still like him. We're not giving him the benefit of the doubt, but the track record of the players brought in are impressive and we havn't had a bad draft under Mangini yet.

The two OLineman should bring success. The line was successful with it being Ferguson-Kendall-Mangold-Moore-Clement while Feguson & Mangold were ROOKIES. Well, Faneca is 10x better than Kendall and anyone is an upgrade over Clement while both Ferguson and Mangold are more experienced as well and will be learning from a future HOF guard. They will fix the problems along the Offensive Line and throughout TC and Preseason Games the Quarterbacks have always had plenty of time to throw the ball. And with Favre in house, this is a pass first team with Favre, Coles, Cotchery, Baker, Keller and other weapons.

all i will say is, no one wins 12 games easily. and to win 10 games in this league with such talent and parity is damn hard to achieve too.

So when you look good in preseason it means you guys are going to be great, but when you look bad it means nothing.

Makes perfect sense. Why don't we all just shut up until the game, then we can actual justify our trash talking afterwards. Right now everyone just sounds dumb. No-one has played a meaningful snap yet this season and you're acting like you're going to head deep into the playoffs. Spare me.
