From PFT: Tannehill has missed the last four games with a right shoulder injury and reports last weekend indicated that he would miss at least one more game before he’s ready to return to action. The Dolphins have a bye in Week 11 and Gase said that the team hopes Tannehill will be able to go against the Colts on November 25. Gase said Monday that the team is “trying to get to the point where Tannehill feels good throwing” and that his work of late has been “weird” because of how it fluctuates from day to day.
From what I read/watched, he's throwing pretty good footballs- sometimes with no pain at all, sometimes with pain. They're trying to figure out why it's not constant- how is he no pain on Wednesday and then lots of pain Friday? It's inconsistent and doesn't make a lot of sense. At this point it's more about having him comfortable than the injury itself. He COULD start a game today, but they're being cautious with the hopes that this goes away completely and he's 100% in December. My question is, what if it never fully goes away? I'm no doctor but sometimes injuries don't heal 100%.
Hard to believe Tanny will be able to take hard shots and not have issues with that shoulder, if he even makes it back this year. I wonder about 2019 too.
Ryan will never take a snap for the Fins ever again. He's cooked. He will be gut June 1st and BO will be our QB next year wile we wait for our rookie QB to learn the game. BOOK IT!
If it were up to me, I would treat Tannehill's injury as career ending. I know he's a tough hombre, but I don't think he will ever be pain free. He needs to hang em up and enjoy the wife and kids. It's not like he needs the money or anything.
Way too soon to make that call. If Tanny makes it back for even 4-5 games, plays fairly well and stays healthy, then I think he starts next season. Things get really murky if Tanny can't play again this year. Does Ross give Gase a contract extension? He'll need it to have time to develop a rookie QB. If you draft a QB, you might as well save the $13 million by cutting Tanny and rolling with Brock and/or Fales. Invest that money into the OL and another CB. I'd prefer a clean start with the Front Office and Coach if they go with drafting a QB. Depends on how high you are picking though. Unless you have a top five pick you may not be able to get the QB you want, so then what?
I am tired of hearing we will be to far back to get a qb.If one is there move up and get him.See,Kc,eagles, rams! This league is built around the qbs.
I heard on PFT that McCarthy could be gone if Packers don’t make playoffs. What would y’all think about him as our HC?
Yup, for two firsts you can basically have any player in the draft. Maybe #1 would cost a little more, but still...the option is always there. My thing is that if we do move up for a player, they have to be 100% sure he is who they think he is. I mean, if we moved to #1 for Minkah I wouldn't have cried since you know he's a 10 year starter. Imagine if we moved up for someone like Ted Ginn though....it's unthinkable how much hatred would reign down.
I was listening to a NFL doctor and he said from the outside looking in it sounds like Tannehill will need more than just the bye to heal up but not the entire rest of season so him coming back might be contingent on how we do the next two or three games without him. He also said that he should be fine come next year so all those dreaming of drafting a qb......suck it up buttercup Just to add. I know no one knows who he is but Luke Falk is a decent prospect. He's better than Fales
I hope your right. Bo calls a good game as a qb. Gets people open more than ryan it seems? Hey just can’t through for chit.
I would give gase a chance with a good rookie. He has brock playing good. Brock just cant throw. And tanny cant diagnose plays fast enough. And i know it was the jets. But our defense looked like they were playing together without primadonna jones? We will see against arod. Good quarterbacks seem to destroy us.
Definite maybe, huh? Misses significant time the past three years but we'll just assume he'll be fine for 2019? If Miami has a top ten pick in 2019, go ahead and draft a QB -move up if you need to. Tanny can prove himself (plays well under Gase and stays healthy), or you have a QB ready to step in for 2020.
Well he is going to be fine for the start of 2019. I don't think that's really at question. I think you mean can he stay healthy which at this point is valid. He needs an injury free year next year. But in terms of drafting a QB you can forget about it unless youre going to give Gase a five year contract extension. Gase will be on the hot seat with the Miami media next year. No way he drafts a QB that doesn't help him immediately. Add in the fact the draft will be loaded with defensive linemen, a position we need, and we probably spend at least two early draft picks on that. Then Another offensive lineman or two. Maybe another linebacker and cornerback. All positions that can immediately help Gase next year
Why do you say that. He was pretty good in college, decent size, accurate, intelligent. why wouldn't we invite him back to camp?
trade him to the saints they seem to know what to do with QB's that have hurt shoulders and will never play again in the NFL.
Uh... what? every game he's played has been basically identical to Tannehills... awful. Probably worse. Have youw atched the last few games? Chicago some here fluffed the guy up because Wilson went off after 5 yard pass receptions. He's a joke. If BO is the plan for QB next year, they better blow it up, fire gase, Get a new HC, OC, DC, FO staff, oh... and QB too. Because there's likely no other HC/OC that would run with Osweiler as their starting QB.
I saw him missing wide open receivers? What are you watching? And i dont want him in the future either? Other than teach a rookie the system.
If it cost us a number 1 or more it has to be a Qb.Right now the only hope we have is Faulk. The tannehill era needs to be over.He has never proven to be anything more than a game manager and now he is injury prone. If the guy is there you love don't wait for him to fall go get him!
You might be right about RT playing his last game for Miami but I doubt that leave it to BO next year. They more than likely sign a stop gap journeyman type until they find the future long term guy.But not Brock.
You know, we could take a sample of Don Shula's DNA and re-create "The Don". I mean, with today's advancement in growth incubators, we could grow a fully mature Don Shula in 6 months...
